We used this location years ago (had a good experience), but from this most recent experience, we were quite surprised to receive a receipt/charges for things that didn't apply to our reservation. Upon returning the Uhaul, due to website error, we were unable to upload the gas gauge photo (I explained that to the cst service rep over the phone), but we returned the Uhaul with the proper amount of gas, cleaned the vehicle, plus returned it a day early, yet somehow we still rec'd charges for those 3 items. After making a phone call via the cst service line, one of your reps was able to issue a refund for those items. *We are very grateful for Ruth's help :)*

Brandon FreemanI would take more time explaining the importance of insurance and I would issue the equipment to the customer clean. I would not charge ridiculous charges such as 5 dollars safe trip fee and another 5 dollar clean air fee. This to me is a hustle, you are charging customers this extra 10 dollars to pay for your equipment. To me this is unfair. If a customer comes in to U-Haul and wants to rent a vehicle, you don’t treat them like they don’t matter. They kept me waiting 40 minutes each time while taking care of the liquor store customers and leave the U-Haul customers waiting. This to me is poor business practices. Than you act like getting insurance on the truck doesn’t matter. After I called my insurance company and they told me I will be liable for all damages, I went back the next day and got the U-Haul insurance. If the associate would have told me the importance of getting insurance, I wouldn’t had to of missed work and come back the next day and get the insurance. My experience was bad at this U-Haul location. I would never want anyone to be treated like they don’t matter, when it cost a lot of money to rent a U-Haul.
paul ramirezThe driver's side front wheel was low (could be due to cold weather). The "loft" area was dirty, so the things we put up there got dirty as well. The gas tank was only 1/4 full when picked up, but the clerk was very adaptable to the situation. Staff was very friendly and explained things well. Would definitely use this location again.

Donald ValtzMake sure the batteries on the trucks are charged and well maintained. Truck died during a move. I had to wait 2 hours for roadside assistance. The app kept glitching and I had to call in. Over all I had to keep the truck an extra day because I was not able to make it to my storage unit before it closed. Since I had to keep the truck an extra day. On Christmas. I was not able to travel home and be with my family for the holiday as I originally planned. Hopefully I receive some type of compensation.

Ellie NowelsI arrived at 12 pm, my scheduled pick up time. The staff member present was having issues checking me in so I could pick up the truck. It appeared that he was not very familiar with the process overall. After struggling for 40 minutes he called another staff member who came into the store to resolve the issue and assist with my check in. This member was very familiar with the system, when I was finally checked in I was informed that my truck was not at the location due to the last driver not returning the truck on time. After investigation the truck had been returned, but the original staff member who had difficulty checking me in did not “finish” the return, causing the system to not register that the truck was in the parking lot. I had to remind the staff that I purchased a mattress bag. The truck itself had a messy interior, floor was skattered with leaves and debris. The moving pads in the back were not folded or tidy. I didn’t get into the truck until 1 pm. I waisted an hour of the time I had booked the truck in the store, which I found the most frustrating. I would not suggest returning to this location.
Ashley MastI went to pickup appliance trolley, the store employee was attending me and she left me to attend another beer store customer without even notifying me. It took 5 minutes for someone else to attend me. I rented an appliance trolley, they asked for credit card. Then they came asked for another card not telling me exact reason. Finally he told me that he charged $1 on one card and $14 on another card. I saw online and also on the trolley that the rental is $10. I asked him the rent and he told me $15. I received the receipt yesterday, in the receipt it says $1 as rent and that I rented furniture pads but actually I rented appliance trolley. I have proof that I was charged, $1 and $14 in two transaction. The store did this intentionally by charging $1 in uHaul account and the rest $14 in their beer store account. That was the reason why charged on 2 cards. There should video footage both at the time of pick-up and drop-off that I rented trolley and not furniture pads. This is illegal. I am a uhaul customer for so long and never seen this kind of issue anywhere, This is impacting credibility of uhaul as a company. Appreciate if you could investigate and get me justice.

Also I dropped it off before 11pm on Friday and on Sat morning around 10:12 I was being asked where the truck was. Did someone else already have the truck and they didn’t know. As far as the cleaning fee I think we forgot the plastic tarp so that is our fault for not checking it

Wayne StrautmanThe guy that worked at the store was very condescending. When I first did my rental. He didn't ask if I wanted insurance. He just went ahead and charged me for it. The website was not accepting pictures from my phone for some reason, and he acted like it was my fault. He put in that the truck had full gas to start with on my contract when it was slightly above a quarter tank. When I returned the truck, with the same amount of gas. He tried to charge me an extra $30 gas fee. Then i asked about seeing the receipt, and disputed this my total went down from $94 to around $67. I never wanted the insurance but by this time i had already done the rental. I will never go here again.
Brenton Halseythe truck's steering was very loose and a real problem to keep in in a lane of traffic. It was clean and the guy who helped me was good enough. It's just that I would either retire the truck (133k miles on it) or fix it.

Erin SterbensI reserved a furniture dolly online only to find out they do not have one at the store because they have all been broken or stolen by previous customers. The lady working the counter didn’t even know what kind of dolly I was asking for and had to make phone calls and ask other coworkers in the store how to operate the computer to check me out. The truck was very old and was dirty inside when I opened it up. Because the truck was backed up against a ditch with water and was sandwhiched between other vehicles I couldn’t get a good look at all sides when I picked it up to inspect for damage before driving away. I will never come here again. Worst Uhaul experience ever.

Michael MatthewsI do not like that in addition to paying the $19.95 rental rate for about 1 hour of usage time, I completed I was surprised to find that I was charged a CDW $10 fee that I declined when I completed my online checkin, but it appears to have been added back by the person that assigned the vehicle and completed the transaction upon my return. Disappointed that I was charged multiple fees, including a $5 “safe trip fee” on top of the declined CDW fee, and I had to fill up the gas tank and provide a printed receipt which came to $8.40 in addition to mileage, bringing the brief rental to over $50, a lot more than planned for 10 round trip cost. I realize that I should have reviewed the contract again at the pickup/drop off point even after completing it and the online checkin in the interest of time, as the added fees would have been caught, but this had never occurred in previous transactions with uhaul and was unexpected. I will use uhaul again, but will definitely check and recheck all contracts and clarify all charges all along the process to not be taken advantage of again by a less than transparent process or operation. I will share my experience at the Kenny Road Beer Zone location as a warning to others, steering them to the nearby St. Clair Rd, Columbus, Ohio location which I have had a good recent rental experience with, but regrettably they did not have the vehicle I was seeking available for rental on the desired date/time.
Marianne StoneLocation representative was not well versed in the things if U-haul. Truck was very raggety and returning vehicle presented a challenge as the back of building lot had lots of garbage and made it difficult to return truck where I got it from. Mattresses blocking drive and dumpster obstructing view of drive. Not a good u-hual experience at all!!
