The overall rental experience was a total mess. I had a reservation for a 26’ moving truck at another location but the previous renters didn’t return the trucks on time so I was left without a truck when I needed it. I had paid movers scheduled and had to scramble at the last minute to find a truck. Thankfully the Best Self Storage location had a truck albeit a smaller one. Their location was great and friendly.

Isaac GMy first truck was reserved for Saturday 7AM pick up in Rohnert Park, the night before they text me saying pick up at 3PM in Ukiah, the morning of Saturday it said Pick up 3PM in Chico. All along ive been calling and asking what’s going on getting the run around until a nice gentlemen in rhonert park gave me the cooperate line all to get earliest pick up Sunday 9:15 am in Sonoma with $50 off.....and we show up and of course sign on door read “manager will be back around 10:30AM” wtf?!.....we’ll that doesn’t make up for time lost with family, work that I missed and so much other emotional and stressful events leading up to our move. I hope someone fights this for me cause what we went through during our toughest times wasn’t right. Not to mention attitude for our pick up of our second truck (ya we had two reservations) ...first was beyond d hellacious but the second was shitty as well. Hate uhaul customer service.

I wouldn't go back to rent anything as long as she works there. She is a Stressful case with no compassion. The man was very kind. Get rid of her and I'll give you 5*'s. She makes your business fail and no repeats for business. I'm not recommending this place. Sorry kind man, she is the worst!

Scott MThe fact that a rep called me 24 hours in advance to tell me the truck pick up location was 1.5 hours away from me AND that the time was 6 hours after my request is NOT acceptable. I spent 3 hours having to reschedule movers, coordinate a ride to the new pick up location etc. When you make a reservation online, you plan accordingly-you do mot expect a call the morning before with massive changes. I was able to fine a location 45 minutes from my home-which was still a huge inconvenience-but this was better then 1.5 hours. The pick up location staff was amazing-but travelling there was a huge problem!

Jim BSuper helpful! I was checked out of the Chatsworth location with the wrong mileage, so at the end of my 450 mile trip, the odometer read that I went over 2,000 miles. Had to spend another 40 minutes with both Uhauls on the phone trying to figure out what the problem was. Luckily the Chatsworth location pulled the record of the person before me and found the correct mileage in, so that Sonoma Uhaul could correct my mileage out and I didn't have to pay $8,000. Thank you.

Derek LThis is a self storage place. It wasn't hard to find, but there was just one folding sign near the turn and no signage at the location showing the office. The attendant asked me to move the truck and then turn it around a different way after I parked it. The location would be improved with better signs and clear parking spaces for the trucks to be delivered.

Kris AI am 78 years old and 6'1" inches tall. I could barely get in and out of the U-Haul and had to use the steering wheel to get in and out. In getting out I had to slide down the side of the drivers side as there was no running board in order to avoid physical injury. My wife had the same problem on her side of the cab.

CASSIDY EI had reserved the truck rental in San Rafael, CA U-Haul, and when I got there, the truck was not there. The guy who helped me in San Rafael was very nice and very professional, and he called around to find a truck for me. He found a truck in Sonoma, about 40 miles away from San Rafael, so we drove to Sonoma to get the truck. I was told that there were three rentals reserved, and they only got two trucks. The other two reservations got to the San Rafael office before me. I think U-Haul should make sure reservations are kept. I had made the reservation a week before the pick-up date. The people I dealt with were all wonderful, but the truck not being there was really irritating and made my moving day very difficult. I would rent from U-Haul again, and I would expect my reservation to be there when I came to pick it up. Both San Rafael and Sonoma personnel were great.
