JIM SSlow process and charge on gas for no reason
Chuan HVehicle: FORD truck, 15' , with Arizona license plate AD66636. It was clean enough, but not well maintained. 1) Engine dip stick was 1 quart under the add mark(!!!) which could wreck the engine. The renting agency (Carpenter Bros. Hardware, Ann Arbor, MI) graciously added 1 quart of 10W-30. The tires were all good. 2) Vehicle had 160 K on it. Ignition key lock in the steering column is extremely worn. I had repeated trouble getting it to complete the circuit in order to start the engine. I used to work for GM and understand motor vehicles. Once started it ran strong and good. However, the vehicle is rapidly headed to a "No Start" break down. This will be much more expensive for U-Haul to deal with than having a dealership replace a worn key ignition lock mechanism. Replace ASAP. 3) The steering had more than 2" of free play which is the maximum normally allowed. The various steering components are too worn and loose. The district U-Haul maintenance folks are either understaffed or underfunded or both. 4) It was hard to see at night because the headlight outer lenses are so abraded from road grit. This can be corrected with either new outer plastic lenses or via a polishing kit (mounts on electric drill) from an auto parts store that can clear the existing lenses (takes about 20 minutes each side). 5) The brake pedal went too low and if the driver isn't careful with the foot, the driver will start also push on the throttle while the brake pedal goes very low. It happened to me. Scary. 6) The rental agency tried to do all they could. and were a good and professional group. The area is by a supermarket and is reasonably safe. U-Haul should keep that rental agency and location. 7) U-Haul must support their maintenance crews. 8) Feel free to contact me: shahrsoldier1@aol.com

Kevin BMy reservation was switched to this location at the last minute by U-Haul and while this location handled the transaction well, I had already pre-paid for moving materials, but I was told that I had to go to the original location (4 miles away) to pick up the materials. I didn't have time to waste doing that, so I just purchased them again here and called U-Haul later to request a refund from the previous order. Not good customer service in my opinion, and that took my rating from excellent to above average. I still haven't received notice of the refund from AMEX.

Louis LSteering was very loose causing the vehicle to weave on the road. Transmission clunked as it downshifted while stopping the vehicle. Headlamps were yellowed with age. Exterior mirrors appeared to be either glued in position or just stuck. The vehicle is 15 years old. Retire it.

HOMAYUN KI did not get my rental, since no keys were left in the lock box. This experience was about as bad as it could have been.

Shuaizhi W20 year old truck. Very poorly maintained. AC didn’t work. Breaks were terrible. Very dirty. Will Never rent from this location again.

Anthony LThe gentleman who helped me wasnt rude but he wasn't nice. He handed me paperwork and a key and pointed me to the trucks. I didnt know wbich one was mine and had to go back in. The air only came out the feet and it was a 90 degree day. The truck shook badly and pulled to the left. I am so glad we were not going far. I was then disappointed that my $29.99 rental for a few hours turned into $105 plus the $25 of gas i put in totaled $130. I will definitely consider other ootions before using Uhaul in the future.

Kristin SPrior to the rental, I specifically asked if a 10 ft. truck has a ramp. I was told that it does. When I arrived to pick up my reserved 10 ft. truck, I learned that it does not have a ramp. So I had to upgrade to a 15 footer. Overall, it was a small irritant (additional time and costs). Nevertheless, this rental location's employees need to get their truck facts straight.

Constantin DThe process overall was smooth picking it up using my phone. The only bump was that I had to be "verified" and it would have been nice to have known about this prior to when I was actually picking the vehicle up so I could have had the verification step completed already. Luckily it did not take long for the verification to go through, but it had me concerned that I wasn't going to be able to pick up the vehicle at my specified time.

Anthony LThe main issue was the online return process. It doesn't work with all browsers and should really say something about that. The location was great, but the website and app were not.

John TI asked the guy if I needed to inspect after dropping off with him he said no. Now I get a receipt showing almost an 1/8 of a tank less than what it had when I parked it at drop off. Could have addressed that issue then now again for a more affordable drop off location I pay more
