Customer service was terrible.. The guy that works there moves at a snails pace and isnt very helpful.. He does not seem to know how to do his job very well. We asked if they had moving blankets and he said he didn’t know. We asked about a hand truck and he seemed to not know what that was. He ran the card without asking if we wanted to change cards and when we asked he said he had already ran the card on file and there was nothing he could do. When we came to return the truck, he was ASLEEP in one of the vans! Not impressed. Location is also rather sketchy. The truck had less gas to start with than was noted on the contract. Barely enough to make it to a gas station.. I would go elsewhere if you’re able. It may well be a worth the extra few miles. One plus was that the truck was ready to go when we got there so that gets one star.

DAVID ROver the last few months I have rented 2 cargo Vans and one 15ft truck from 3 different locations, every vehicle I rented was filthy and had at least one light on (oil change needed, engine check light, etc). Years ago I had family who worked for the company and took pride in sending out clean and well maintained vehicles to the customers, service of these vehicles has been completely and utterly disappointing and unacceptable. The district managers should do some more visits to the authorized dealers and stores to improve this.

HEATHER OI love this U-Haul location everybody that works. There is amazing. It’s my favorite place. We rent a truck at least once to twice a month I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Quality of their trucks and vans are superb. Never had a problem with them.

Thomas NI’ve rented from this location for years. Part of my business requires van rental on a regular basis. Vans are ALWAYS filthy. Normally I just clean the inside myself. Today was a disaster. I returned the van with the exact amount of gas as when I picked it up (7/8 full). I was then charged a $26 full surcharge. When I called, the associate AJ tried to bully me off the phone. I then informed him that I had a picture of the fuel gauge that I took when I picked up the truck - as per his recommendation. He then said he would try and get me a refund. His attitude was terrible and continued throughout the day. “I’m only the dealer, I can’t guarantee you anything.” Wrong. He was the U-Haul representative that didn’t even bother to check my van in when I returned it. He just took my key and said goodbye. This by far is the worst U-Haul experience I’ve ever had. This location is a dump.

Ronald BDo your best to ensure that customers can pick up trucks and trailers from the same location at the same time, not to make the customers get their truck in one location and then drive extra mileage to retrieve the trailers at a different location a few miles away! The people at the Sherman Oaks location were very courteous and extremely customer-focused, but U-Haul as a corporation is seriously lacking in common sense!

Korosh AMy wait time every time I go there is over 40 minutes ever since this new kid Nick/Nicky is there. It’s INFURIATING!!!! I check out online and still he makes me very very late to my location. They got rid of Sean who was very efficient and put this INCOMPETENT KID!!!! I will be calling Corporate to complain because I am a returning customer and it’s not right that I have to put up with this Nick Kids Incompetence!!!!!
ANNABELLA BEverything went smoothly which I've read in other reviews doesn't always happen at other locations. The truck was ready when I arrived with 1/2 tank of gas and check out was quick. The truck was also clean. There is nearby parking available in the mall but if you need to leave your car overnight for a multi day rental, or won't be able to return vehicle by 5pm closing time, you may need to be dropped off as I arranged. The only area for improvement would be how the truck itself drives which was not so smooth and not great pick-up. Didn't feel comfortable to take it on freeway. But I got my task done.

VICTOR KThe dolly I pre-ordered/reserved wasn't available and I wasn't told until on site. The van had leftover trash in it. The check-out staff was gruff in demeanor and I had to ask them to be nice to me. There was a quarter tank of gas in the vehicle which made it my responsibility to fill it.

Yauhen IReally need BIG SIGNAGE!!! we drove past several times hauling your darn trailer, trying to return it. There is NO visible signage AT ALL!!! We were using GPS in the truck. I finally called and the young man was very unhelpful. He kept telling us it was right there..... as in right where??? He finally said there were two big American flags at the entrance and that we had to pass back (again) under the freeway. It is actually DIRECTLY UNDER the freeway. We would have never found it except for the flags... We pulled in and then he wanted us to turn around and back the trailer up into a parking space. WE just drove 3 days from TEXAS only going to gas stations and hotels that had drive through's - because backing a trailer up is NOT in our skill set! Then he said he would guide us - he really didn't know how either and had us going the wrong direction in a rather small area. Then other cars and trucks came in making it almost impossible. NEVER ! NEVER! AGAIN!!!
