CARRIE THOMASRented the vehicle near to where I was moving, Duncan called and offered a vehicle in Truro and Bridge water, so I had to call my son to confirm, called back and staffs, Olivia, Mathew, Eric, were very unprofessional, (rude) and Mathew handed up on me, and Eric said they were in Toronto and the Manager, Stephan, I believe, when I explained the push around I was getting, he kept saying he wasn't there and he don't know what went on, all your calls says it's recorded, l would have loved for the Manager to take accountability for the poor customer service including the Manager, it took more than 4 hours for the Manager to get back to me, it was a hot mess, it shouldn't be this difficult after people is already stressed in the moving process, and to be clear this issue was with the schedulers

Andrew NosworthyThe U Haul organization needs to have better service for the Atlantic provinces and have better policies for communication and documentation. Receiving multiple, conflicting calls and having reservations cancelled and changed weeks after being made is not good business. Don’t recommend.
Ilse HillI was charged an additional $80.39 for a trailer I rented and returned within 4 hours. I still haven’t received the refund I was promised. This location has no cell reception with bell, and so it’s impossible to approve the pictures of damages on the rental without driving off the premises.

Mike DoreyWhile i admit i left a few leaves and a little dirt in the trailer, it was by NO MEANS CLEAN when i received it , so i dont think it's fair that i was charged a $15 cleaning fee.

Mark SmithUnfortunately, this experience with U-Haul was horrible. I used them before with no issues, but there were many problems and inconveniences with this rental. I am a father who helped my daughter with her one-day move in her local area of Chester. She made all the online arrangements for the rental of a 15 foot truck and the pickup time of 9 AM and drop off at 9 PM. She hired help for the move which could not be changed. My daughter arranged payment online and when it came time to pick up the vehicle in the Oak Hill (Bridgewater area) there was a problem at that site with communication via the internet. It was discovered that this was a common problem, but they expected things to be done online. Fortunately, we located the person who was representing U-Haul in the area. She was excellent and she helped us through the process. It was at this time we discovered that a U-Haul representative had cancelled our reserved 15-foot truck and another one would not be available until 3:30 PM. This was impossible for us because we had to load and deliver the items to her new place earlier. The U-Haul gave us a larger truck which was 26-foot, much larger than any truck I drove before, but we had no choice since nothing else was available. U-Haul made it sound that they were giving us a deal, but they were not because of the stress of driving a larger truck on the roads when I was not accustomed driving such a large truck. Furthermore, my daughter had requested 3 dollies and none were available. Also, no blanket covers were provided for protecting furniture. As I drove the truck I was nervous and had to be extra cautious due to the narrow streets in the area where my daughter lived and the place of delivery. It took several attempts on a busy road to back into my daughters driveway for packing, as well as a problem getting into the delivery location due to the size of the truck. I was stressed out and upset I was placed in this position. If any vehicles were parked on the street at the delivery location, I would not have been able to get into the driveway for unloading. I could not believe that U-Haul would only give a 1/4 tank of gas and not a full tank when we received the vehicle. This became a problem having to fill it up later as close as possible to a 1/4 tank. Normally, one receives a full tank of gas and when you return it, you refill it to a full tank and the process is simple. It makes it very difficult to estimate the amount of gas at the gas pumps. Overall, the rental was a nightmare and the company should have remained giving a full tank and then the customer leaving a full tank. Many problems occurred that did not make the experience a good one. This is the reason a gave a poor rating and if there was a rating lower I would have given it. I only wish I could have given an excellent rating, but I call it as I see it - at the lowest level. The only good thing was the lady who served us was very good and without her we would have been in a much worst situation. She sympathized with us finding out the vehicle change at the time we were ready to receive it and no sooner.
William KellyThey had multiple people standing around working, but no one was able to assist me with the uhaul drop off so I had to wait over 20 min - then all they did was take my key. Should have more people trained to assist with this service. Also, I told them it was a drop off so of all they did was take my key, why did I have to stand and wait for someone to assist. Was rather frustrating

Ron DzombakI called two days prior to pickup, just to confirm I’d have a truck. Reiterated that I was picking up in Bridgewater…only to show up in Bridgewater on pickup day and find out the truck was in Oakhill. Very frustrating. However, the lady working the desk was a delight, and the truck was excellent.
Neil HarrisThe location was excellent. The staff on location was excellent. The overall experience was below standard. Despite providing detail to the customer service reps (1-800) as to my task of having to transport a fridge from location 1 to location 2, I was given an option that had no ramp thus potentially having to vertically lift the fridge from the ground onto the deck of the truck. This was caught by the staff at OCR. Then being permitted to rent an appliance dolly that did not exist at this location. With the exception of the women at OCR who worked with me to resolve issues I am now less likely to recommend U-Haul to others without telling them the problems I experienced. “Word of Mouth” is and can be very harmful to any organization. Thank you OCR - Oak Hill Nova Scotia foe exceeding were others failed.

LISA MARKLEWThere is no cell service at this location which made it very difficult to leave the truck after hours and I did not want to get charged for an extra day. The personnel in Oakhill the next day were friendly but they could not access my information or receipt. I was told that I would get my $100.00 deposit back but this was not returned due to mileage. I found the check out process very difficult and confusing. Staff also seemed unclear and confused about my situation.

SHEILA MARCOTTEI had 2 issues. I was told that there was a dolly in the truck. When I got the truck home there was no dolly so I had to drive back to the pick up location to retrieve the dolly. Second issue was when I went to load the truck there was a significant amount of water in one corner of the back. I had to get towels, mops etc to clean it up before I could put anything in it. I've spent a lot of money with u-haul in the past month (with more to come) so I expect better.
COLEEN KELLYThe cell service at the drop off location is non existent so you need to use the buildings wifi network. I dropped off after hours (around 6:30 pm) and almost had to be standing at the front entrance to get any wifi. With needing to take pictures of the gas and milage, the interior cab and the box in the back separately it made for a lot of walks back and forth between the truck and the building in complete darkness. The lot was not lit up at all. Very dark location. I'm glad I had a friend come with me. I didn't feel very safe
brad tooker2116 is not an actual U-Haul location, it’s an unmanned storage unit with no vehicles available, 2285 is the actual address of the U-Haul location with staff and vehicles and due to this misunderstanding of the U-Haul website retrieval and drop off of the vehicle was exceedingly difficult as there is no cell service or Wi-Fi at the 2116 location. I had to get on the phone with U-Haul customer service and explain how I could only drop the vehicle off at 2285 due to the online return process

Paul CampbellOakhill Self Storage is not a functioning rental location. A sign directed us back to OCR Equipment. As Oakhill Self Storage has no staff or trucks to rent it should be removed as a U-Haul dealer. OCR Equipment is the only U-Haul dealer there. At OCR Equipment I had to wait about 15 minutes to check out my truck rental, as another customer was ahead of me. Yet other staff were available, though apparently not to rent out trucks for U-Haul ?? Also for the online check in I had submitted my credit card and photos of my driver's licence, so what else is necessary when I actually pick up the truck? I thought that was the point of the online check in? Service could and should be much more streamlined.

david harrieOnly issue is that there is little/no internet service and I was unable to complete the online return on site. Somehow I was charged $191 for fuel when I brought the truck back with more gas than I'd left with. But the Oakhill staff quickly fixed that, and I am grateful to them. I would suggest you have all trucks go out with a full tank of gas, and return them the same way. Takes the guesswork out.

DONALD OICKLE | Overall ExperienceAwful as usual, mostly Uhaul's fault, not the vendor. We were supposed to have the truck for two days since the return date was a holiday. The uhaul rep told us so. However, the truck was actually booked to someone else for the second day forcing us to change our plans at the last minute. The truck was filled with dirt, and the dolly we booked wasn't there. If uhaul wasn't the only truck rental place in town I would have gone with another company.

Anne ChaseWe had reserved a 10foot truck and was told one was available when made phone reservation . Then of course it wasn't. Had to travel over an hour to get a 15foot truck!!! Why had to travel to get a truck that wasn't even what I ordered. Was not compensated for travel----definately not customer first. Do you over book and just assume people do not.mind traveling to get truck with the price of gas???????
