10 years ago, I rented a UHaul truck for a trip from Ft Worth, TX to San Diego, CA. The trip was a nightmare because the truck had problems and we discovered why when the maintenance records were checked when the truck was returned after the trip was complete: two of the scheduled maintenances had been skipped. I have used Uhaul for moves twice now since that experience 10 years ago and decided that it would be good to ask for the maintenance records when renting a truck. First time in Escondido, CA the record was presented with no problem. That trip went well. My most recent rental was different. When we asked for the maintenance record, we were told that they didn't know how to get that information and took no action to learn how. We were on a very tight schedule and left with the truck. The notification on the dash to check a low tire was on as we drove away. We called and were told that it was probably because new tires had been put on the truck and probably a reset was necessary. We checked the tires ourselves and went on with our trip. The truck was new and low milage. The tires looked new. We had no problems with the truck on the road, but would have been happier customers if the people at the place in Houston had been more knowledgeable and willing to make certain that the truck was in good shape. When loading the truck we noticed that it would have been really helpful if there had been an opportunity to tie off the load located higher on the walls. The loading instructions and diagram suggested loading very high, but without the higher tie-off that was not possible. Just a suggestion.

It took them OVER 1.5 hrs to find the trailer at a different location (Hammerly) than where I had originally reserved it at.
Due to it was Labor Day weekend, this was a HUGE inconvenience for me, my friends and family, as they already had plans and they were only able to help me for a certain amount of time, some had to bail out being that most of them had plans.
I was extremely frustrated and unhappy of the irresponsibility and inconvenience it caused, not just me, but everyone helping. I had to apologize many times and that made me even more mad because it wasn't my fault.
I want to be FULLY reimbursed for all the frustration, inconvenience and irresponsibility.
