DONALD REDDISHCustomer service was AA+ at pick up location, and after hours drop off was easy. However, the truck was not in good condition. NO heat in truck (was already 40 minutes away when realized, and on time crunch so could not turn back) It was a very rainy and chilly day. Made for a very cold and uncomfortable 8 hours after getting rained on while moving and having to spend the rest of trip wet and cold with no heat. While the truck was not very old the transmission was whining and clunking, struggled to shift and accelerate on hwy even with no load.

Virgil DawkinsThe truck sounded like it was coming apart. The suspension could not absorb even the smallest bumps on the road. I rented a Penske a when I moved from NYC to Georgia and again Penske for a multi state move. No problems and a smooth ride with 26’ trucks. This U-Haul was 10’ and felt very uncomfortable. The fuel gauge seemed to be off.

Shonda FosterThe first part of the rental went well. The driver got 2/3rds of the way to his destination and the A/C quit working in the truck. It was one of the hottest days of the summer. Also the engine a had a miss and ran somewhat rough. With the truck loaded it was hard to keep it in between the lines. It wandered quite a bit. On his return trip he stopped for fuel and the truck would not start back up leading to more aggravation. After many tries he got it to start and return to our shop. We dropped the truck back off at the office and I explained the issues and asked for a discount on the mileage. The associate stated he could not do that. He gave me a number to call and explain. I called several times with no answer and no return calls. I will not recommend this location and will not be renting U-Haul again.

amber montecuolloThe truck I rented struggled even when empty. Seemed like it was in desperate need of a tune-up. It had almost no breaks. The seat was worn to the point that I sunk so far into it I could barely see over steering wheel. Then AFTER I paid my bill, which was $700, U-Haul placed a $300 hold on my bank account and neither the local branch nor customer service could tell me why. Note, this was AFTER my bill had been paid and processed by my bank.

Ladonna GregoryI called the Gaffney U-Haul for a truck and get a text saying that I needed to go to Spartanburg to get the truck. The Spartanburg U-Haul didn't have the keys for any of the trucks. A store employee had to drive me in their personal vehicle to Gaffney where they said that they had a truck. Very unprofessional and the worse rental experience I've ever had!!

John HulettThe photos of the truck in the link I was sent to verify my equipment was a totally different truck. The truck I was given was wrecked in the front, part of the drivers front quarter panel was missing, parts of the bottom panels on the sides were either missing or and bent, inside of truck was dirty with food crumbs and dirt/mud in floor. After I got the truck home and loaded, I noticed the outer back driver side tire was low, so I called roadside assistance to come out. The ended up having to replace both tires on the back driver side because one being worn out and underinflated. Improvement suggestions for this location would be to actually check the trucks for cleanliness and take photos of the actual truck you are going to assign someone. A quick maintenance check of tire pressure and visual check of the tires wouldn't hurt either. Had I not taken out the added insurance and not disputed the photos at check in, I could have been charged for the damage that was on this truck. Do not rent from this location!
Mike GhantInspect the equipment before renting out to customers. The truck I rented had a dead battery and put me two hours behind schedule. The truck also had a leak in the which caused my things to get wet.
