Process was slow when arrived to pick up truck. There were 5 people in line and only 1 employee helping customers.
When we dropped off the truck the guy was trying to charge me $1,000 when the contract stated $140.00. It ended up being fine but don't like drama

The reps weren`t rude, but they weren`t nice either. You can tell that none of them really care. My unit was difficult to get in and out of. It was a very old building.
We were very happy with the condition of the 10' truck. We drove 21 hours and the ride was comfortable (altho some roads were bad). I worried about my condition since I have had 3 back surgeries. Seats were great! No problems! Thank you!

This is a well run location
Service was good, but the tow dolly that I requested was there but broken. It was erroneously listed as available in their system. I rented a more expensive truck and trailer instead to move my car, but it did not work. I really needed the tow dolly with its lower load height. Returned the truck and trailer unused and wasted my time and money.

Everything was grate,the fella who did the paper work was grate the fella who checked me back in was grate.
The agent is so mean, it seems to me he's racist. Not friendly at all.
I moved stuff out of unit a week early. I called to ask about something, and they said my unit was canceled. I never told anyone I wouldn`t be using it anymore or to cancel it. A heads up next time?

When a customer makes a reservation, especially online, the total costs need to be stated from the beginning before purchase. For example, there needs to be a more clear notice that if you get storage, you have to pay for insurance as well as the round lock if you do not already have that specific kind. This will improve the customer's ability to plan ahead more efficiently.
The man that hooked up my trailer was excellent, polite and thorough. Very good representative for uhaul.
Have more seating available for those who are waiting to get a hitch put on. Also to check the expiration of the license plate and make sure it's not expired. My plate was from Indiana and it said Jan 2015, it's now NOVEMBER

The alarm went off the whole time. I also got charge a 24 hour code and my storage was outside i was only there until 730pm
Loved it! Uhaul in the past has been a pretty rough experience. Everyone here was super friendly and helpful! Will definitely use this location again.
Ask how the customer is paying for the rental ( cash, credit card on file or another credit card ) before assuming the customer is paying with the credit card on file especially when it was understood at signing the rental agreement that another card was going to be used to pay for it. Also you can be sure to wash/detail the equipment prior to renting.

I've used this location three times in the last year and a half... It seems to be understaffed. On slow days, everything is cool, but once it gets busy they stop answering phones, I've never seen more than one employee inside. They do seem to work hard, but just not enough of them on peak times like weekends.
The customer service I received was GREAT! Much better than in the past at this same location.
Everything in the beginning was good, but when it came time to drop them off I spent over an hour over the phone trying to get the service I wanted and finally went the store in person.
Very kind and friendly, and when I left my rings in a cup holder they were fantastic in helping me retreiving them.

There was an error with the contract where I was charged for 2 days instead of 1, but I called in and the staff corrected the issue without any hassle.
There were two different kinds of vans available for rent, and I was able to request the transit van. Great van, great service!
The young lady who waited on me was very pleasant and made sure I had exactly what I needed at the lowest cost.
The young man who pulled out my trailer was very knowledgeable and helpful and made sure everything was working and was what I needed.
I called in to buy a trailer hitch and have it installed, the sales rep. got the info on my car mix-up from the info on the Part Code & Price that I got over the phone, it was different from the Receipt that was E-mailed to me.
It all went from bad to worse, when I called back several times and just kept getting the run-around being put on hold 4-5 times for over 30 minutes total and couldn't resolve the mix-up from the info on the Part Code & Price different, It couldn't get verified.
So I decided to cancel the order, and I saw sent a confirmation appointment instead, I had to call back 2 times to get the cancellation verified.
This is the 2nd time I had a bad experience with you-all and this will be my last.

The General Manager personally assisted me with all my moving and hauling needs. he provided directions and recommendations. His staff was excellent, more helpful than I have ever received dealing with Uhaul. If you can model this team tone all your teams. They repaired the lights on the trailer which I rented from Houston San Jacinto Street, who the manager who hooked up the trailer could care less. He obviously did not check them and gave no advice about hauling when asked and the fault was in the truck so he did not check that either. I guess Houston was having a bad day.

The location was ok and the service was just ok. The individual that took care of me over charged me and I asked twice with emphasis if the overage would be changed. He said it was not going to change for the amount and it did. And because I was able to show him my immediate charge in my account his response was, "oh sorry!"
The truck that I rented was hazardous. I wobbled A LOT on the road and I felt unsafe. It delivered my items and I returned it with more than enough gas.
My experience here was not like my first experience with this location.
I like that this location was managed mostly by women. If anyone knows how to pack and protect family valuables, it is a mother. And mother's pass this on to there daughters....
Crystal was a great help every single time I spoke to her on the phone or in person. Excellent customer service skills delivered by her!

I had a mixed experience with UHUAL recently. I'd only use them again out of convenience. I had a good exchange with the person who made my reservation - I believe that his name was Cameron. Prior to speaking with him, I was left on hold for FIFTEEN minutes by the woman who answered the phone - I decided to hang up and call back. The woman who was working the counter when I went to pick up my order yesterday was perhaps one on the most unfriendly persons that I've encountered in some time. After returning my rental, I was charged TWICE. Thankfully the person who I spoke to this morning seemed to be able to resolve the problem quickly. Really disappointing.

One of the best uHaul locations I've visited over the years. Everyone is friendly, helpful and efficient. I always have a great experience!
The people at the desk should smile and act like they're happy to be doing their jobs. When you're renting a truck, you're likely stressed and overwhelmed by whatever you're undertaking. It would be a nice relief to have someone smile and welcome you in the midst of the stress.

I had requested a specific location due to traffic reasons as well as consideration with the transporter and small sized truck with said transporter and traffic... Frustration with my requested location changing had me have to change the hour of pickup which was going to mess with my destinations' time of return.

The onsite manager was great and credited $50 USD back.The fact that the insurance was not described as $150 deductible by the agent or in writing is NOT OKAY and needs to be addressed...

I have rented or dropped at this location several time - the staff are always helpful, professional and friendly. The parking lot seems to have gotten a bit more cramped but I believe they have grown and increased their storage capacity
I have used this site for the past year and have always felt safe and it is almost always clean the bathroom is not especially late weekends at closing time
Was able to get proper vehicle and equipment needed for clearing out storage unit at the last minute. No reservation just walked in and they had everything I needed. Friendly and fast service as well.

Can't think of anything,....my experience renting at this location was excellent.
Check tires on all trailers before issuing them out. I had to stop and gave the tire changed en route.

I felt like the guy who helped me wasn't very knowledgable about my reservation and the details of a breakdown in pricing, did not give me any drop off instructions on my green form. Hopefully I dropped my keys off at the right place. It was confusing and the answers were not clear cut on line or over the phone... I probably won't use uhaul again.
Arrived BEFORE 5 o'clock to return the truck and door was already locked. We got the attention of one of the employees and he waved us off. We said "it's NOT 5 o'clock yet" and the employee told us "yeah well, we're closed"
We will NEVER use U-Haul again ever. And we will be sure to trash you to anyone that will listen. Plus, we've been posting this information on social media to spread the word of how unprofessionally we were treated.

The Broadway location sent me the wrong ubox! It was full of someone else's stuff and had been broken open. It's possible their stuff feel or along the roadway. The 800# folks are not helpful and do not actively listen. They are nice but all they do is transfer you and when you get to the right spot the reps don't know what their own processes are. There are too many departments for ubox. I shouldn't have to talk to someone for movers, someone got requirement, someone for freight or travel costs. It needs to all be in one place. Took me hours to do things that should have taken 10 minutes. Would not recommend uhaul after this experience.
Have enough gas in the truck to get from point A to point B. Had to gas up twice :(

Consider offering "Express Pick-Up" -- If the customer has done an express check-in, maybe they could pick up a trailer without having to park and go to the inside desk?
I felt comfortable with the security of the space, cleanliness and cooperative staff. frequency of rent hikes were excessive....DA
I came in with a bit of an attitude, since the website had changed my pickup location and the size of the truck that I rented (albeit a larger truck that worked out nicely). I asked for some rope and/or a tiedown and the gentleman that helped me (I wish I could remember his name) was courteous and took my attitude in stride. He helped with my request and I left smiling, happy that I was using U-Haul for my move. Bravo!
There is no internet access in U-Haul building. As a result, I walked nearly 1 mile in the heat to nearest Starbucks. When my car was ready, after hitch installed, noone from U-Haul was able to pick me up at Starbucks. I walked back to U-Haul in the rain. When I arrived, front desk clerk, Mirah lacked basic customer service skills, did not offer an apology that I had to walk in the rain or that no internet access was available in store. She also claimed she could not find payment information in the computer system. This information was provided way in advance of pickup. She subsequently found the credit card data. Highly suggest she receive customer service 101 training. Additionally, U-Haul might consider providing internet access to customers who wait for their vehicles beyond 30 minutes and provide transportation assistance as needed during bad weather, similar to automotive shops.
My reservations for a truck and storage unit were terrible. The unit was assigned in a location other than what I had chosen without telling me Nor was the price for the unit honored.
Uhaul needs to update its checkin system. I returned the truck on time yesterday afternoon. This morning, I received a text message stating that I had failed to return the truck (which was not true). When I called the number indicated in the text message, the operator told me your system showed the truck was still not returned. When I called Uhaul again later this morning, Uhaul confirmed that the truck was returned on time and that the text message was a (common) error.
The problem is the signs directing the return equipment was about the size of a bathroom mirror. So naturally I missed the sign that said "Return equipment around back First" So I got in the long line and finally got to the counter and the lady (very nice) asked if I had checked in the equipment. I said I had no idea what she was talking about. She said there is a sign out front. In frustration I walked out and turned my very long F250 truck with a trailer in the parking lot which took about 5 minutes of maneuvering. As I passed the sign I noticed the very small ineffective size of it. Then I saw more signs once I turned on the side street but who knows to drive beyond the main entrance to then see the directional signs? Of course I was in a hurry that morning. Very upsetting.
The woman that eventually checked me in was more interested in her phone than doing her job. I stood at the counter waiting to be helped Far too long. It was obvious she did not want to be at work and seemed some what annoyed while issuing me a rental. I wish the Uhaul location on Slaughter and i-35 had what I wanted to rent, they are always smiling and happy to help their customers. I have used the Slaughter location 4 times this year and the experience there is what it should be. However the experience at Ben White when it comes to the people inside the building is quite the opposite.

The person who gave us the truck did not tell us that with the trailer on the back we would not be able to use the ramp on the 20 foot truck. However they were nice enough because he did not use the trailer to take it off. This location was great they were out of a 26 foot truck so they gave us a 20 foot truck and discounted the per mileage. The location was clean and all the workers were very friendly.
We had issues with our online scheduling. Once we got to the store there was so reservation for us. The woman who helped us was very helpful. She did what she can checking around for our reservation and then got us sAet up with a truck from the Ben White location where we were. Wonderful customer service!

I Rented a 26' Moving truck to move from Texas to Iowa. I was given no information about the truck, just the keys and told the truck was outside waiting. The cab of the truck smelled bad and had sticky spills on the floor and cup holders. Worst of all on the back of my agreement form someone wrote customer accepts that the truck leaks water, though no one told me this, and had me sign the other side with out my knowledge. Why would I be ok with leaky truck when moving 1000 miles. At one point I had to place buckets out in the back of the truck to catch the drips. Which was no match, multiple wet boxes and water stained furniture. Never using U-Haul again.
U-Haul did not know that the original location I was renting from was closed after I had asked twice if they were open during the holiday. If I would not have asked for their phone number to called ahead of time to verify they were open I would have been very upset on Monday.
one of the lockers that I was rented had a lock on it and we had to switch.
The management staff was excellent, even working with me to change the credit card on which the rental was paid (I reserved the trailer on my person card, but needed to actually pay for it with a corporate card that I picked up later in the day). However, the lot staff could use a refresher in customer service skills, especially the surly young man who hitch the trailer up for me that morning. No greeting, mumbled instructions, no goodbye, and just generally made me feel like I was wasting his time.
This location is utter chaos. The parking lot has no lines and everyone just parks on top of everyone else. Another customer boxed my rental truck in and I had to wait for 20 minutes while we found the perpetrator and had him move. This location is also severely understaffed and the line was literally out the door. It should be better staffed on the first Saturday of the month (moving day), or on days when many reservations have been made.
Fix the air conditioner at the store. Otherwise it was a good experience and a good value.

Wonderful service from begging to end. The lady that checked me in was very informative and the gentleman helping me to install the tow hitch was knowledgable about the installation and also directed me to the instructions on my receipt and YouTube for additional loading instructions. (Earl I think was his name, blonde gentleman. Owned a CRX)
In a city that have far and few customer service employees it was truly refreshing to experience this while going through my long day of having to tow my sons car to San Antonio.
Ps... Everyone I spoke with that was not at the location were all kind and helpful over and beyond what I would have expected...

Don't know why your location gets bad reviews. After renting 3 vans over the last 10 days, every experience was excellent. I was able to pickup based on website reservation in less than 5 min every time and the return of each vehicle was even faster. Thanks.
The trailer broke down. We had to wait for 3 hours in 100 degree temperatures. We waited for an hour for a mechanic to come out and confirm that the brakes were were inoperable like we stated on the phone. Then we had to wait for another 2 hours for a wrecker because the mechanic could not fix it. Waiting that long is uncalled for.
Make the temperature in August cooler ;-)

We made our reservations and chose our pick up and drop off locations months in advance. We got a call the day before our move that both locations were changed. The new drop off location was extremely inconvenient and getting there caused us lots of problems. The chosen locations should be honored.

I turned the truck in after hours, therefore did not go inside or work with personnel.
This was not the location that I was to use. We were in the University location but they would not let me drop it off as they had too many so we had to go several miles to the Ben White location. It should be the location responsibility to move excess off.
the clerk was not very friendly. she did greet us we just had to stand there and wait for her to look up. she seemed worn out. you guys need to have a "one line" arrangement where the clerks call the customers up, that way the patrons can be tended to on a first come first served basis and the clerks can finish up with the last customer (on the computer) instead of having someone standing there watching them. it's not a good system and it's not clear where to wait
They let us recycle out empty boxes whichever is very happy!
Our service agent, Kim, was fantastic and really helped us sort out our trailer lights problem. She was really patient and volunteered to step in and expedite our processing when another agent didn't know exactly how to solve our problem. Kudos to Kim!

There were some blunders in expediting my reservation but the staff handling my transaction at the counter were patient, courteous and professional. My move coincided with college move-in day so even though I'm sure tension and stressors were higher than usual, my order was handled expeditiously. I know moving can be stressful but the staff here returned my patience and communication with the same. Highly recommended.

Check in was quick, easy and efficient both at the front desk as well as in the yard hooking up the trailer. I wouldn't change a thing.
The plastic (rubber) floor mat in the back of the van was not attached to the floor and bunched up when we moved furniture into the van. I feel this was unsafe.

Michelle Molina, Kym, and Ariel? were and always have been so helpful. Ryan, the GM is a nice guy and does his best to keep a squeaky wheel running quietly. I'm sure that it is no easy task. I am a repeat customer and for the most part things are always tolerable. I have not found this to be the case at most truck rental locations. I would certainly recommend this Uhaul location to any future renters. I spent almost $25,000 last year at this location and that is for a specific reason. They are swift, thorough, and attentive. They treat clients like people, as opposed to their competitors like Budget and Penske, whom I have used and been disappointed. Even in the busiest of seasons they go out of their way to accommodate my requests. I would urge any future customers to utilize this facility. My only quarrel would be with the check out process. There are a few(one in particular) that finds it incumbent upon himself to be a "Christ figure" as far as the rules apply. The hand that feeds should not be bitten and it should not be my place to tell him that. Otherwise, it is a clean, we'll run operation and I am mostly pleased to arrive there every day. I would encourage your patronage.
Not sure how easily this would be implemented, but I think updated Uhaul trucks would be great. The current Uhaul truck dashboard is very limited and does not allow for use of GPS or Music players. This would greatly improve the Uhaul experience.

Super friendly staff, let me pick up van a few minutes earlier than my designated time. When I was worried about being a few minutes late, they were nice enough to say I wouldn't be charged extra. Overall a great first experience with U-Haul.
GET NEW MANAGEMENT AND GET RID OF PISS POOR SUPERVISORS. I HAVE A HORROR STORY TO TELL THE AMERICAN PUBLIC AFTER BEING THREATENED TODAY BY LUCINDA HERRERA, WHO CLAIMED TO BE A SUPERVISOR. SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD REFUND MY MONEY, BUT WHEN I ASKED FOR UHAUL CORPORATES PHONE NUMBER, SHE TOLD ME SHE WASNT GOING TO REFUND MY MONEY. I HAD TO ACTUALLY BEG HER THE REFUND SHE WAS GOING TO HOLD BACK. I JUST WANTED UHAUL TO KNOW THE NICE PEOPLE I DEALED WITH ALONG WITH THE LUCINDA HERRERA'S OF UHAUL
when calling certain stores you cant get a hold of them directly it allways someone else.
When you promise and verify (via email and text) an appointment time to a customer, do not call them a day in advance and pretend that wasn't a "real" appointment. Crystal at the Ben White location should be retrained: Her attitude and not the multiple phone calls trying to figure out what time my new appointment was (since texts and email differed from what was told to me over the phone) was what made me cancel the appointment.

Ubox was not available for pickup at my desired time. Nor did they have my reservation for unloading my ubox on the correct day either. Numerous problems, Will not be using either again.
My swipe card never worked. I think that should be better taken care of. Also I had to call a few times to ask questions and was hung up on once. Other than that, I never had a problem with the staff.
Fast check in process at this location, much like a rental car drop off. Well done.
Mostly because of location I would recommend. The drop off was not well organized. We did not know what to do and no one greeted us for quite a while.
My friend and I had a fun time driving the Uhaul around and appreciated the ability to drop it off after hours without incurring charges.
I had problems with card code access for my exterior-entrance unit. This presented a problem when I wanted to access the unit early on a Sunday and before work but no one was on site to help.
U Haul sent me 8 miles from my final destination to drop off the trailer.
They only had two workers even though know they would have a large amount on returned trailers and trucks.
I had a drop off location 1 mile away.
This caused a 1 1/2 hour delay because of traffic in Austin.
Service was speedy & customer friendly. Everything was handled in a very professional manner.

truck was empty of gas and the windshield was filthy. I had to argue with them to get the price correct to agree with what I was told on the phone. I will never use a uhaul truck again. I had to put a large amount of gas in the truck and I turned it in with a lot of gas. I better get a refund. Earnest Adkisson
My truck rental was given to someone else, but they made another available to me for 10 hours instead of my requested 24 hours. I made arrangements and returned the truck within 5 hours. For two days I received calls from the store asking when I planned to return the vehicle? I told them I had returned it both times and they thanked me. I then received an email stating that my truck was returned, but it was not my name- only my email address? I called to confirm I was not charged the amount shown and was told I wasn't. My email was somehow tied to the other person?
Everything was great. The only thing that might help is if the store stays open late than it should be able to take the keys when the equipment is returned. It s not a big deal to drop the keys in the box but sometimes things happen and it would help knowing that the keys were returned to an actual person. Other than that great service.
I rented a 15-foot u-haul for a one-way move and am very happy with all aspects of the service, particularly the option to extend rental on a per-day basis and complimentary 1-month free storage.
Great facility, access hours, safe n clean... just too expensive but understandably competative for the area. Thanks for the space!

While the location itself was fine, I did not like being switched from my original location (1 mile away) to this one, which was 30 miles away.
The central reservation center mixed up the location I wanted to pick up the trailer at but the location I requested the trailer be rented from had the equipment I needed.

I reserved a truck 2 weeks in advance and on the day before my move I get a call and I am told that there where no trucks for me in Austin. what is the point of having a reservation system if you guys don't even honor it? I was told people had made reservations for trucks a year in advance, why wouldn't you just tell me on the phone that you were booked up? Why did you say then, that I would have a truck in Austin? I had to call in sick to work and drive 3 hours to bandera so that I would be able to move out and not violate my lease. I was told by your employ in bandera that uhaul over books on purpose, and that there location makes lots of money by you guys screwing people. I could have gotten in legal trouble with my apartment because of you. You guys are scammers and I hope all your locations get flooded with go-gurt and all the AC's go out so the go-gurt petrifies and it smells real bad. Forever. F word you guys

We dropped the trailer off during off hours. The lot was very dirty with trash and blankets and junk all over the ground. Other than that, everything was fine.
Truck has issues with the stability track
The one and only "issue" I had was the lady who was giving me the van made up the most ridiculous excuse as to why she was giving me the only old van in the lot. I asked her if I could get the newer van knowing they have better mileage, and she said people don't like the new car smell. But she was very kind to switch me to the new one upon request. And I loved how energetic and engaging the guy I dropped the van off to was.
Nothing. These guys have it figured out. Plent of clear signage indicating where to return equipment. Lightning fast check in. I was done in 5 minutes. Bravo, guys! Keep it up.

I paid for extended hours to be able to access my storage unit after 7, I did not receive a card, just a code. The code never worked, when I called customer service they were not able to help me.

Have employee taking reservation ask if you have the ball for the hitch. I would've liked to get one less expensive elsewhere, but didn't know I needed one in my existing hitch.
Communicate with customer. The online system is very user-friendly. However, all the problems that I had happened after I signed the online order.
I would like to see you explode making the pickup and checkin more automative meaning I would be able to use a smartphone app for the whole process. Also, installing a black box with video cameras would be beneficial.

We were told the day before pickup that we'd get a brand new truck, with 30 miles on it. But that truck was given to someone else, and we got one with 30,000 miles on it. It worked okay, though.
Appalling experience. I didn't realize the 6-hr rental could not be extended. My son called at the 6-hr mark to extend the rental because the move wasn't complete. The rep was vicious, threatening and unprofessional. I called U-Haul, believing there was a mistake. The rep was equally vicious and threatening. I was stunned and was unable to reason with her. I did not raise my voice, call her names or act inappropriately but she hung up on me. I am 60 years old and have used U-Haul for decades. I will NEVER again have anything to do with this abusive, unprofessional organization.
The 26ft truck I used was having problems starting.

The incredibly loud alarm went off every time I accessed my storage unit. I was able to sign in with my code but the alarm would go off anyhow. It was frustrating. The staff was very friendly.

The storage facility had many unlisted fees. Needing to use my own circular lock, not listing that unit was not climate controlled, no elevator to second floor, insurance required. Will not recommend.
Never using Uhaul again. 1 my storage unit was reserved wrong 2 my phone number was entered wrong 3 when I went to go pick up my truck...it wasn`t there.
The unit I was assigned was damaged and I notified the employee who helped me. Additionally, the parking situation is horrible and needs to be looked at. Very dangerous. There is no where to park.
