I didn't get a confirmation email when I made my reservation online and I didn't get my contract emailed to me until the day after my move, when I had already returned the equipment. This is unacceptable. I made my reservation Monday, was told by your website that I'd be receiving a confirmation email "immediately". Called and spoke to a representative Friday afternoon because I still hadn't received a confirmation and wanted to make sure I actually had a reservation. The representative confirmed my reservation and told me I'd have a confirmation email that day by 6pm. I have never received a confirmation email from your company. Unacceptable.

Great experience. I made a reservation online and my Uhaul truck was ready when we got there. It was my first time renting a Uhaul but the staff was friendly and took the time to answer all my questions. If I needed a Uhaul again, I would go back to this location.
Orchard Park location, where I originally had reservations for a truck didn't have any when I got there. Very upset and poor service.
I have rented in the past from this location. Some of the employees seem like they are sleeping or in slow motion. One was actually finishing a text while waited during pickup. Later I found out that the phone is used to work on orders. Still an acknowledgement would have been nice.
The windshield wiper blades are old and worn out, making a tremendous racket. Also, the wiper bushings produce a tremendous squeak that is extremely annoying. Finally, why are there no snowbrushes in the trucks?
Cody was a great help, can't say anything better about him he was fantastic.
Check in and check out was very nice and fast, no changes needed
We were told we needed to sweep the truck out when we were done with it. When we opened the ramp, there was dog food on it.
Also, we didn't ask for a dolley or blankets and both were in the back of the truck. If we weren't honest, you would have lost both items!
Excellent Customer Service! Elaine was very helpful and professional. I might suggest a courtesy driver to provide local service from the U-Haul center to the customer's home would be the icing on the cake; a service like Enterprise Rentasl Cars that keep the customer coming back and distinguishes U-Haul from It's competitors in a market that has many choices for a prospective renter.
The staff at my location was the best.ps.I lost my WIFE so it was hard for me .but they make thing`s easy for ME,the staff is U-Haul front line ,thanks!!

I set up my rental for batavia but then was told closet rental for what I needed was buffalo way..and i wouldnt know if they could provide the equipment until the day before...who wants to be held in limbo till under a day before they need something..this aspect of uhaul stinks..think i will have to try a different company next time for this reason
The trailer fitted perfectly to our Explorer . It pulled behind our vehicle very nice with no problems.

Only problem was one of our 3 reserved trucks was not returned on time and we then did not have enough room for our move because we were forced to rent a smaller truck (and even that was a long shot as there were very few trucks available to rent). I wish there was some kind of serious monetary penalty (like $500) for people who bring trucks back late because it really screws the next guy if the rental schedule is tight. This has happened to us 2x over a number of years so it is pretty rare. Employees are very helpful in trying to help with the issue but they really have no control after the truck leaves the lot.

The woman working as assistant manager of the location was amazing. I had made a mistake reserving online and I got a call to clear things up. My schedule changed and she made arrangements for me to meet my goals and not go over budget. All in all, she made the experience comfortable and I was very very satisfied
Maintain your rental fleet in a safe manner, & have your rental center staff go over each rental piece with the customer before it leaves the yard. Also, allow one way rentals on all of your equipment.
Justin was extremely helpful and made my experience much more pleasant and quick. I will be using uhaul again because of his great customer service!

We could have done without the dolly and bag of blankets attached to the wall just inside the back door which we could not move without paying extra for their "USE" as soon as the zip ties were cut. They were definately an ongoing obstacle to deal with. Other than that everything was great.
I WOULD ASK THAT SOMEONE CHECK THE FUEL LEVELS BEFORE WE GO OFF WITH OUR RENTAL. WHEN I RETURNER MY RENTAL I TOPPED OFF THE FUEL TANK, IT TOOK 5.861 GAL. TOTAL $19.10, I DROVE ONLY 34 MI. I'AM SURE THIS TANK WAS NOT FULL. SOMEONE WAS NOT CHECKING THIS BEFORE THIS CARGO VAN WENT OUT.
Hire some individuals that are halfway intelligent, keep your promises that are made when errors on your end occur, carefully read peoples files for specific notes, don't schedule pick-up's/drop-off's just to "clear the screen" when they are not feasible, and people enjoy courtesy calls so make them or leave voice mail's, especially when requested! Will never do business with ubox's through your company again, was more of a hassle than what it was worth, which was very expensive also...Thanks.

Initial conversation with U-Haul representative was a bit cold, but I ended up being happy as they helped me load and secure my car.
They rented a truck to person that was not me! No one bothered to verify the person name or email address. I did not rent a usual yet I received an invoice in my name. I think that this is very poor business. Please find the real person who rented from you! Terrible
Truck was old and awful. I never felt safe. I had to get roadside to obtain a new battery because the truck wouldn't start. It was a very old truck that should never be used again!
First off i was told i could have truck from Thursday at 1pm to Saturday 1pm. Upon arrival was told you needed it back by 9am Saturday. And then you charged me for 48 hours rental!! Windshield was dirty, cab light did not work properly, ramp kept sticking and getting truck into reverse was a challenge. I ended up finishing moving with another company because of the false return time i was given. Not to mention most of the staff were arrogant pricks! I will never recommend nor rent from you in the future. Good luck and thank you.
I was surprised the truck didn't come with ramps to wheel appliances up on the truck nor were we told we will need to get them. So that delayed our moving day. Also while giving the associate my address, I corrected him 4 times about the zip code where I reside and he told me, it didn't matter. I don't feel like something like that just "doesn't matter". So needless to say, after this experience, we will probably go elsewhere next time.
Your trucks need proper maintainence. I rented a 26 foot moving van it was a gmc 6500 with a v8 gas engine. I drove 14.8 miles and did not exceed 45mph nor did i accelerate quickly or load the vehicle heavy. Your truck averaged 1.2 miles per gallon. I am a cdl driver and a heavy duty mechanic and your truck ran very poorly. That is ridiculous. A truck that size should have got 7 or 8 miles to a gallon at least. So what you save on the rental versus your competitors you put in the tank when you return the equipment. So in conclusion you arent saving anything.
The central call center was horroble. The women would not relocate the trailer I order to a reasonably convenient location. I told her that U-Haul would receive a lot of negative press if they wouldn't make the trialer more convenient and she xsome how turned this into a personal threat and hung up the phone on me. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. In contrast, the local people both in Depew, Arcade and Kissimmee, FL were great. U-Haul needs to impower the local people more and get rid of some of the call center people.
Truck was very clean but once the truck got to 40 MPH it was very shaky.
The guy behind the counter stunk like cigarette and had a terrible attitude. Didn't look like he cared if I was there or not and acted in that fashion. On return the girl who walked out to the truck was very matter of fact and again did not seem to care either way. They are all just going through the paces as they know customers come in because they have to. Not a good experience.
The Truck we rented on 10/29/2014 had a terrible shudder at 40 MPH.

I booked a moving truck and storage unit online, I was under the impression that the unit would only be $1 to move in so when i had to drop $100 i was not happy. This needs to be stated more clearly. I chose to do uhaul because they had great reviews and it was kind of like a one stop shop. Had i known this i would have stored my stuff elsewhere where it was cheaper to move it.

This truck was confirmed on Friday, 10/24 to be picked up at 9:30am on Saturday, 10/25 in Tonawanda,NY for a one way drive to Geneva,NY. When we went to get the truck, the designated uhaul did not have a truck and would not have one until 4:00pm. This was unacceptable as it was a 2 hour drive plus had to drop off truck and drive back to Buffalo,NY. A dispatcher from NYS found us a truck in Depew that we could get if we would return it to the Depew location. We were given the cost of one way rental, as we had agreed upon, but we had to spend double on gas and tolls. i am hoping that uhaul will refund us that money that we were forced to spend because no one had the truck we had reserved and was confirmed to receive. Do NOT EVER RENT THEIR STORAGE UNITS FRM THERE , IN Depew..... So much of our stuff was ruined and was suppose 2 be replaced, but never received the paper work they said would be sent out.... Also when your suppose 2 have coverage, then find out they never gave 2 you when wanted it,,, its really messed up that we lost so much and the manager acted like she didn't care that their roofs were falling in and ruined a bunch aof our belongings... I will not recommend this 2 any1, EVER... It sucked all the way around!!!

I started out at the location on Orchard Park Rd in West Seneca. When I got there the employee i met was on his phone and remained so for several minutes. After a few more minutes I was told that the trailer I wanted needed to be back at 6 am. I reserved one from 6pm 10\17\2014 to 6pm 10\18\2014. When i said that wouldnt work. He checked other stores and said the Transit rd store had one. So i left there and when to Transit Rd. The woman there was very nice and helpful and i picked up the trailer without issue. However I returned the trailer at approx 1pm 10\18\2014. When I walked in no one even noticed me. I realize it was a bit busy but that is no excuse. Finially a younger guy says "whats up". I said I am returning a trailer and he said ill be right out. I said I already parked it in the same place that it was when I picked it up. He says "dammit thats not where it goes. Shit ill move it". I said well I had a issue with it. I talked and he walked away got in auhaul truck closed the door and drove off. The trailer pulled horriably. My truck has pulled a dual car trailer before fully loaded with less effort. I thought the brakes were dragging as anytime I stopped at a light and went to take of my trucks tires would just spin for a bit and screach. My truck was built by me to haul trailers and has never had problems hauling anything. With the trailer unhooked from my truck it was near impossible to move. Regardless, i tried to tell the employee and he just ignored me. I was charged almost 50 dollars for this rental and it was not worth any of it. I rent trailers often so I will look elsewhere.

I originally wanted the trailer from Transit Rd in Depew but they said we had to go to Gennesse in Buffalo to get it. We get all the way there, and they don't have one! Sent us back to Depew, (which was right down the road from me) to pick one up there. Gas is not cheap and to have me run around like we did, I will not be a returning costumer!
Clean, well maintained facility
First, we had to go to the west side of buffalo to pick up our truck and tow dolly. That equipment was not returned on time and we then had to go to the Hamburg location to pick up the truck. They did not have the tow dolly there when they were supposed to. We then picked up the tow dolly the next day at the transit road location. They were helpful there and helped to load our car on the dolly. We then moved across the country to Washington state. In Wyoming/Montana area the oil change reminder, then warning came on. We stopped for gas and checked the oil, it was two quarts low. We made it across the country okay, but when we picked the trick up in Hamburg, I asked the guy if this truck was maintained and ready for a long "haul" and he said yes it was. But other than that it was an overall good experience.
Completely satisfied would definitely consider u haul if I needed storage again.
I had already made a rental agreement with a gentleman Named Justin, and completed the agreement to rent the Trailer, with my Daughter to pick it up about 4 PM on thur10/2/2014, all pd by my credit and insured ready to go, when my grandson went to get it the man at the Uhaul site would not ive him the trailer,, I had to call the dealer in Falconer and then the call center and find put what was going on, the girl at the call center sent a fax to the dealer to let my grandson get the trailer,It was a very taxing experience, both for my daughter and grandson,
I was very upset about the whole experience, I would rather find a different dealer in the area, than to deal with that person. WNL
My experience would have been fine had I not been charged for two days when we had the truck for four hours, which required me to invest time and phone calls, etc. to rectify (and I hAve yet to verify that the problem is resolved).
The men I dealt with at that location aren't the MOST friendly. Could do with a little better positive customer service attitude, though it was not the worst I've experienced, that's for sure.
The manager out your location was very nice and professional
I was informed less than 24 hours before my scheduled pick up that the truck would not be available on my pick up date and time (or within 72 hours thereof). My suggestion would be that if U-Haul is unable to fulfill an order, the representative making that phone call should offer a discount on the 'next best thing' to come as close as possible to meeting the customer's needs. Instead, the rep I spoke to simply told me my order would not be filled, without apology or offer of any assistance or back up plan whatsoever. In addition, I have yet to receive a refund for the $4.30 charge (for moving supplies) I paid at the time of placing the order, despite having cancelled that order the day before scheduled pick up. I have called three times (just out of not wanting U-Haul to steal my money, however small the amount) to request that this charge be refunded. My last attempt consisted of me calling, being placed on hold, being transferred, being placed on hold again, being transferred again, being placed on hold again, and then being told that I should call a number that was the same number I had originally called (866-277-6855)! My overall experience of U-Haul's customer service has been horrendous. I certainly will do my best to never place an order for their goods or services again.
The furniture pads (blankets) could be washed before being used again. So a new customer would get clean blankets to use.
Allthough the rental staff are very knowledgeable, it seemed to me, they werte not very friendly. Just business, is this right, sign here no interaction. Just saying
Location would benefit from an improved ingress/egress to the roadway. Somewhat to difficult to negotiate when towing a trailer or driving a large truck.

I did not get correct trailer. When I asked to exchange it, I was told "sorry we can't" . I spent $80 for 1 hour with a trailer I couldn't use. I don't know why in the name of customer service, you wouldn't do this.
I was charged for 2 days because an employee apparently can't count, now it will take likely a week or.2 to potentially fix the problem.
U-Haul needs much better coordination between local stores and traffic control. Very poor on communication and sending text messages. I supplied cell phone number at least 5 items during this one rental, yet U-Haul continued to use landline.
U-Haul staff would tell me one thing, and immediately follow up with an email, that contradicted what was just agreed upon.
Prices were cheaper on-line then at the store... very poor customer service. Return locations were better on-line then at the store.
Truck broke down and drove terrible
The manager Heather was out of line and very rude. I was charged for furniture pads and a dolly that was never used and she refused to credit me. I was given a larger truck than I needed originally because my reserved size was not available. I paid for 33 days which is fine but she complained she lost business because I had it too long and then said I will never do business with uhaul again.

Waited for 45 minutes at the wait here with your returned equipment sign before ending up going into the building to let them know I was there. Either change what the sign says or have a way to let the people inside know you are there.
Return of truck, employee was slow on getting to me and doing check in process. Was very unhappy on return.

to rent a vehicle for 4 hours and be told at the counter that my time started while i waited in line for 45 minutes is unacceptable. Then to be told that if the vehicle was not back in time i would be charged YOUR missed rental..MY time starts when i RECIEVE the vehicle , not because YOU can not process the customers quick enough!
The customer service rep was very abrupt and unfriendly. The interior of the back of the truck where we loaded all of our furniture was covered in dirt (which we did mention). Sadly, I don't think we will ever be using the service again, and we would definitely never consider using this location again.

Horrible experience ..this was my first move in 10 years and rented the truck for two days. Last week monday i called over the phone to secure the truck for thursday and friday. I gave them all my info and they told me to pick it up from orchard park ny location and that they would also call me the day before to confirm it... They never called me i went there to take the truck and they rold me it was only rented for one day not two i called the guy who originally made my reservation he told me computer can only book one day at the time they failed to call you and confirm it so they could add another day he said he was sorry and he cant do nothing for me ... I explained to him i need it for two days he told me to call locations and look for truck.. I paid people to be there to help me move and i had no truck two hours later i found one on transit that wassss wayyyyyy out of my way and it cost me more money in miles and my time going to get... I called general manager to complaint and he never called me back... I feel this is bunch of kids running a unorganized business... Which is a shame
On 8/15/14I reserved a 26' one way truck for 8/30/14. I called uhaul 8/29/14 to confirm pick up location and time. I was told there were no trucks available for my moving date! When asked why I was told it's online there's no garrantee that a truck would be available! I had no reason to check on line about this. I was told there was a shortage of big trucks this weekend. Asked how long had they known this as was told a few weeks! I asked why didn't anyone call and tell me I was told they only call a day before pickup. I had called them not the other way around! I asked what was I suppose to do now? My husband was flying in tonite, I had people ready to help, closing on my house today and had to be out tomomorrow. I was told maybe there could be a truck Sunday or Monday. I was told this by a supervisor in East aurora NY office. I was so upset they I told her word of mouth keeps uhaul in business and I was calling BBB to report how inconsiderate they we're for doing this. The supervisor hung up on me!!! I contacted Albany and they we're just as rude and hung up on me when I said I was contacting BBB. I will NEVER deal with UHAUL again and definately NEVER refer them to anyone. Thank God for Penske rental to save the day! They are my new moving company!

The line was very long and I thought I would be there for a long time. However, I was able to get through the line in no time with the 3 employees and their efficiency.

nothing I will never rent a truck or anything else from uhaul The truck I was given smelled so bad I had to clean and dry it before I could even put my stuff in , also had to drive with the windows open because of the smell of burning oil coming in to the cab . then When I returned the truck I tried telling Felex the issues I had He could really care less
The attendant who handled me upon my initial arrival was very unhappy to be there, complaining constantly about everything (mostly unrelated to myself) and was not helpful. He also complained because some customer "pissed or shit" in the out of order restroom.
Making this not happen is my suggestion.
Answer your phone and check your lot before you call a customer and tell them they are late when the rental was returned teh day before.
Great service. Was a great way to move my son and all his belongings to college using the "cargo van". It had a surprisingly comfortable ride. Only problem was it had a lingering cigarette smoke smell, otherwise was clean. Got good gas mileage too.
The people were friendly and helpful. The truck worked just as expected.
Pick up location was perfect. They put forth an excellent Uhaul image. Customer service over the phone is terrible. I was treated to arrogance and straight out lies (was told the truck at preferable pickup location was rented and then 30 minutes later watched it drive off in a caravan of uhaul trucks and trailers). Was a loyal uhaul customer (retired military, moved a little). Note: the operative word in the preceding sentence is "was". Hopefully this complaint will make it far enough up the chain of command to reach someone who cares enough about uhaul's corporate image. Your customer service is the weakest link. Kenneth Rose.

I was charged for gas that was replaced by me before returning the truck. The amount they charged me for was more than what I even used. Very disappointed with uhaul.

box was a week late, was not able to get an answer about whether my box was there or not. regional ubox manager kyla swain was rude on the phone.
The U-Box was reasonable in price and the U-haul staff was helpful in answering my questions. Only thing, I was not notified ahead of time that I needed a lock for the U-Box upon departure
Reason for not recommending was experience at other end of move. People in Depew were professional, and very accommodating to needs. Would not hesitate to use their services again.

Excellent so far-boxes scheduled for final delivery tomorrow-3 days ahead of schedule! Staff: awesome. Boxes: great. Need more tie down hooks on the top/bottom/back. 4 hooks on sides: not very useful.
I thought the staff was lukewarm in their customer service approach.
There were some mistakes about my bills, probably because I was moving internationally and the service was not geared for this. Otherwise, no problems at all and I would certainly recommend it.

People at the facility were nice, reservation got screwed up from the beginning and the room I was supposed to have wasn`t available. For a bit more $ I got what I needed at a competitor.
The associate delivering the uboxes was great!She called before delivery, on time, friendly, got the boxes unloaded quickly.
The only issue I have with Uhaul storage is that it is not prorated if you move out early. I will use other facilities for this reason.
The Buffalo location was timely in their delivery and communicative about when they would be able to pick it up. Although the delivery for shipping was delayed an extra day due to them being booked.
I see that I was charged for my first month when it was supposed to be free???
I am disappointed with the customer service, I was never told that I may not know when someone can come back to pick up and ship the box or I would have scheduled it differently.

We stored our RV there securely and at a very decent rate.
There is a damaged fence next to the gate entry for the storage units. Anyone could walk in and out, which is enough for a determined thief. Otherwise, an overall good experience!
I drove all the way there to get my ubox and I had to wait an hour for.someone.to bring it off the forklift. Horrible. Never using uhaul again.
I would not recommend U-Box due to difficulty with the store on the other end. This store was great - timely, very helpful, friendly. Judy was very nice, and even delivered my box on Saturday!

They had contacted us to let us know they were running a bit late, so we did not consider it an issue. We were extremely impressed with the service and support provided by U-haul.
I still have not had anyone call me back on a complaint file I put in on Sun 7/29/12 and a phone call made to cust srvc on Thur 8/2/12.
Judy, and Jill who delivered the 4 boxes to our home were excellent, friendly and very helpful.

u-haul on main street was very rude and hung up stating my dolly was not there but the transit u-haul was proffessional correcting mistakes made. not recommend or use u-haul on main street.

I reserved on Tues on Thurs I asked for hall key for the first time I’m told $10/mo for 24 hr access. I cancelled, went to Uncle Bobs down the street and paid MORE but helpful staff 24 hr access.
Not friendly-didn’t feel welcomed. Still not sure how to open the hallway door when I go there after hours. Was told no bays available but when I told him I booked online he said he had two left.
one box had a door that was not lined up properly. Had to move lock latch to lock box. Otherwise everything was excellent!
The Owner/Operator of the Pick Up location was very courteous and friendly. He assisted me very well with the pick up and pay process.
2d box had a broken latch. The women delivering the boxes in were fantastic. The move was nearly perfect. Use of your blankets was a great help. Definitely recommend this mode of movement. Thank you
Was told it would be delivered to my house, then told it couldn`t be and was told I could rent a trailer and then told I could not due to highway driving. Had to rent a 10ft truck. HUGE inconvenience.

one negative thing we experienced was the gate leading to the storage area was frequently broken. we had to go into the store, show our license and pick up a remote. Everything else was great!
Very good service - Judy was excellent and set the box up on a semi-hilly driveway perfectly!!!
Only Problem I had was the latch for using a padlock broke off the box. It would have been a simple fix but I didn`t need it at the time anyway.

Easy service. Lots of confusion with staff around UBox, but much better during second visit. Should rethink staffing for high traffic times. Waited in line for over 15 minutes both times.

Box was lost. receiving store not deliver for a week even thought the box was 3 weeks after I requested delivery. Would not recommend. Depew staff helpful and friendly.

The door to the D units was very difficult to open and close as it contactd the jamb. If it were not for that, the excelent box would be checked.
The facility seemed relatively safe. However, there was a hole in the ceiling of the storage compartment assigned to me.
Storage Facility was very dirty, had to ask employee for broom to sweep out dirt and other debris, and I swept out the facility not the employee. Terrible experience!

It was incredibly difficult to get ahold of anyone and I wasn`t told that my uBox wouldn`t be shipped until after the holiday weekend despite being picked up on a Saturday, but
I will never do business with U-haul again. Still waiting for promised refund.
Aside from a sticky/needing adjustment door to the storage unit common area D, everthing was great. Clean unit, great staff, and fair prices.

Excellent unit - clean, secure, temp humidity controlled! Only prob was being double billed 1 month and taking many months to get that straightened out. Store staff were extremely helpful.
Within 20 min. I had placed a lock on my storage compartment, quick and efficient. When one staff member did not know the answer to a question another one did, good teamwork.
Facilities were good and convenient.
I purchased a lock upon check in and when the lock proved to be faulty, it was exchanged without a problem.
Hours not convenient for unloading. End of day staff not willing to rent another unit. Early in day staff helpful and units well kept. Units not as big as advertised for house square footage.
