Really hard to get to off I 20. The GPS takes you way around and then on capitol street. Then back to frontage road. I pulled up. Not sure where to leave trailer. Had to follow u haul guy all way inside to adk the person at desk what to do. She said go back out by green tent and wait. He went out right behind me and finally helped me.

It took us 45 minutes to get the three digit code so that we could get the key for the truck. The emergency number listed was not convenient as the person didn’t return my text or my phone call. The website is not user-friendly. It was frustrating to navigate the website to find the correct tabs to request a three digit code for the lockbox. We called the 800 number and the representative, Courtney, was very helpful. We were on a time restraint, therefore was an hour behind schedule due to this inconvenience. We need to rent a 17 foot truck this coming weekend but we are leery of the process.

Richard WilcoxEvery time I use this location, the females behind the counter know more than males. The male has to ask the female how to fill in the blanks on the computer. Mike, I think that is his name, attached the wrong RV to my vehicle. I’m the one that caught the error. He said he would have the female inside, to change the RV # on the computer. Mike didn’t check my lights after connecting the wiring. I drove off the lot and thought I had better check the lights, so I pulled over and did so. I’m an over the road truck driver so I know how important it is to check the lights to make sure they are operating. My reservation was for RV 3703 G, I ended up with RV 3870 D. RV 3970 D should be retired. I had difficulty opening and closing the trailer door. If opened to far, the locking mechanism hangs up on the top edge of the trailer. So I had to push the door inward in order to start closing the door. It was not easy to roll the door up or down. It rolls up or down unevenly. In all the years that I have used your trailers I have never had a bad experience until this time. I will continue to use U-Haul whenever I need a trailer or a truck.

I told him that we have a 400lb fridge that we are storing and asked the rep about a down stairs unit. He told me that he only has an upstairs but the Facility has elevators to help you get it upstairs. When we got to the storage unit, we learned there was no storage elevator. I drove 5 hours to find out that I was lied to. Not having any other option by either driving 10 hours (5 to take it back and 5 to drive back to Abilene) or now spend $140 a month for a storage unit. The lady that helped me at the actual facility was nice and helpful as she could be. It was very sad that a rep had to lie to upsell me.

When my daughter went to take her things to the UHaul on the afternoon of May 8, 2021, she was told that all of these units were already taken and that aa reservation doesn't "reserve" a storage locker but that it was first come first serve. The only storage locker available was a 5' x 10' x 8', which was $79.99 a month. When we asked about changing the price due to the reservation, we were told to speak to a manager. After over 20 attempts to call the manager and leaving voice messages on both his cell phone and at the store, we had to drive 4 hours to the location in order to speak to anyone about this situation and we still have not spoken to the manager of the store. This is the worst location I have ever dealt with in the 22 years of using Uhaul during my military service.

When I showed up to this location on May 8, 2021 at 4pm, I was told that all of the lockers of this size were already sold and was given the option of 5' x 10' Storage Room at a monthly rate $79.00 or nothing. When I asked about my reservation, I was told that regardless of the reservation it was first come first serve. I have never heard that this policy was used by U-Haul and it would negate the policy of using reservations to "hold" a storage room. After waiting 2 hours, there was only 1 representative working at this time when this location was extremely busy and the representative stopped helping me and made me wait until she had helped the other 7 customers in the store before handling my situation. She ended up giving me the 5' x 10' Storage Room with 1 month free and no solution for June, July, and August.

Had to stand in line for literally an hour (only two other customers ahead of me) to speak to an employee while my moving labor waited outside on the clock. * Employee claimed the online reservation process was pointless, as they only operated under first-come-first-serve. What is the point of reserving a unit through U-Haul if you aren't guaranteed to get it??!! Thankfully a unit was available, but was on the second floor and had no elevator. * After getting my lock and unit number, I had to find an employee to unlock the unit as it still had a "customer-ready" lock on it. * The automatic sliding door by the unloading area was broken. Could only open it by literally pulling the doors apart. I get that I could've arrived on a particularly busy day, and the facility seemed to be very under-staffed. Even so, there needs to be a better process for handling simple equipment returns and storage unit reservation retrievals that doesn't involve waiting in line for an hour as one customer plans their entire move with the only available staff. Overall my experience with every aspect of U-Haul aside from the actual truck rental has been very confusing, and made our move extremely stressful.
