Great customer service. Can't say I can think of an improvement except for box sizes. It was an odd shaped curio cabinet that I could not find a box for.

I booked the rental online, and the website is terrible. 3 pages of upsell where you default additional items and hide the "No thanks" button in inconspicuous places is unconscionable. It's an obvious ploy to generate additional revenue by screwing over people who aren't reading the site carefully enough. If people want your additional services, they will ask for it, no need to shove it down their throats.

The office staff was friendly, quick and efficient on making sure that I was getting what I needed.
Unit needs maintenance, i.e. tune up. Doesn't run well and alignment is in need of correction. Due to those two factors, mileage is horrible.
The furniture dolly I rented had a wheel that did not swivel. Someone repaired it and the bolts were too long. Because of this the wheel scuffed my just refinished hardwood floor.
Everything at the store was fine however the corporate office said I owed them money from a previous rental I found this very strange being that I had never rented or done business with uhaul in the past I had to pay the 50 before being able to rent the trailer I needed. I know it's not the dublin stores fault they were very curious and helpful they even helped me fix my trailer lights for free.
Excellent customer service. Absolutely painless and fast. great job getting me out the door and on the road.
Longer business hours on weekends
My online reservation indicated that the rental truck was available in San Ramon. A follow-up phone call indicated that I had to pick the truck up in Dublin which was 20 more miles round trip. I ended up having to pay a slight mileage charge.
Overall I was very satisfied and would have given an excellent rating except from the issue identified above.
get rid of the "someone will call you back in an hour with your reservation" !!!! They never called me back.

The truck was very clean. The transmission jerked only when put in drive from park or reverse.

The truck was great. Thank you. The only issue I encountered was when I pulled into the parking lot late at night on Monday 3/23. There was a 30 pack of Coors Light in the main driveway with beer cans thrown all over the parking lot. I know you have security cameras but it didn't seem to deter whoever was out there and with customer vehicles in the parking lot, I'm sure uHaul doesn't want that additional liability.
The location and the staff were great. My concern was the cost of the rental was far greater than I expected. $180 for a half day local move seems very high.
The was an issue with the truck that took. The back door/shutter lock was broken and I was not able to lock the door. I have to call the road side assistance and they turn around time was very bad. On the whole, my move was very bad. Sorry to say this, but this was the case for me

I would like an itemized receipt. The total was more than I expected and there is no way for me to verify that I wasn't over-charged.

Clean inside of rental vehicle's windshield between customer rentals. The truck I rented had a oily film that obscured vision out of the driver's side.
I paid extra to rent this truck for this project, because I got such BAD reviews from your Antioch location(s), I couldn't jeopardize their failing at providing me a truck or being open!! I took the safe approach with the TRUSTWORTHY staff at Dublin - so I paid the mileage up and back, as security that I'd be taken care of!! Antioch doesn't open until 9AM on a Saturday!?!? UHaul, get another franchisee in Brentwood area!!!! You're losing business.

Not getting any $ credit on returning a fuller tank of gas might be an area to raise customer satisfaction to a higher level of excellence.
The location staff and facility were excellent. Very apologetic and accomodating.
The reservation process was terrible. You have system/operations issue with reservations that need to be fixed. I completely understand the point maximizing truck utilization as much as possible.
I reserved a truck and trailer for Thursday the 26th. I also set up moving help for the afternoon of the 26th. The morning of the 26th I received notice that I would not get the truck until 4 PM. If one makes a reservation for the day of the 26th, not getting the truck until 4 PM somewhat defeats the purpose. The reservation should be available then until the next day once the truck is back.
It was then compounded by the fact that the truck which was to be returned at 3 was not returned until almost 7 PM. The whole day was a waste. On top of all of this, I had prepaid for moving help for the 26th, which thankfully, they adjusted their schedule several times to accommodate the fact that the reservation was not ready.
Then, on the morning of the 27th, I got a call from U-Haul "central" that wanted to know why I had not picked the truck up. Really???
Absolutely not the fault of anyone in the Dublin branch, a systematic problem with reservations, especially for one way moves. What is the point of reserving a truck if you can't get it? What is the point of prepaying for moving help for one day, when you won't be able to do anything until the next day.
Simple fix needed in your reservations operations and how much you push utilization of large trucks.
Because of this I cannot knowingly recommend U-haul for long moves. One day rental, no problem.
You have an almost total new crew! They are as polite as the last. Some of the original guys are still on. Still have a great team!

The general manager helped me with the rental - he was proffesional and friendly, the fellow who helped me hitch the trailer was also careful and polite, really one of the best service experiences I've had in recent memory. They should be commended.

All went smoothly and staff was friendly and helpful.
It took three appempts at three different locations to actually get the truck we actually wanted. Uhaul main customer service misdirected us several times to locations that didnt have the trucks we needed and could not verify the actual status of the truck or reserved the wrong size of truck several times. And when trying to call the 800 number several times we were on hold for extended periods. The local site did their best to undo the snafu that is their corporate help line, and were able to get us going despite the debacle that held us up for over three hours tring to get our truck.

Quick in and out service.
Excellent service enhanced by the fact that I happend to get a brand spanking new van to move my stuff with. Although location is spacious, it would be nice to have a more "off the beaten path" location to park my vehicle while I am using the rental or to have such a location pointed out while arranging for the rental.
Unfortunately, some Uhaul locations are closed on Sunday. Fortunately for me, the Dublin store was open. Thanks to Daniel Rogers, my experience was excellent!

The truck was supposed to be paid for by me, Geri Creque, who made the original reservation. Unfortunately I could not pay over the phone with a credit card or even have the card on file used since I could not be at the Dublin location that day. I have had 2 back surgeries in the past month and called the location, the corporate office, and the regional manager to try and explain the situation. I was very disappointed with how the rental went.

Got a brand new van for $43 to take my shed from Sears to home. can't complain.
Difficult to find location. Also made reservation for 24 ft truck and the website did not tell me I could only do a round trip with that truck. Had to change to a smaller truck to do one way. If I had know that I would have gone to the location in San Ramon since that is where I was picking up my stuff.
Customer service at this location was excellent. The truck had tons of power but was very beat up. MPG was around 7.5 at 58 mph. Mirrors were good. Daytime driving light feature doesn't allow me to flash lights to big truckers to acknowledge it's OK to move into my lane after they pass. I had to adjust the driver side door latch to eliminate wind noise. The seat caused back pain. The door arm rest had the door pull molded into it so only caused pain. There was no right side driver arm rest. The radio was cheap and tinny with no aux input. Standard size paddle lock did not fit rear door lock.

I have the WORST experienced of my life making reservation from your company. I made reservation for the DUBLIN location 1 week prior and a day before my pick up is when your company sent out a text that my pick up was in BERKELEY!!!!! I was informed that this it was your company policy!!!! If that was your company policy why in the world you did not inform your customer before we make our decision if we should rent from you !!!!! The way your company run business I hope that no one should have to go through what I went through, I lived in San Ramon and made reservation in advance to reserved the 64 foot and ended having to make to trip from San Ramon to Manteca. For your information, I have been informing my friends and family to NEVER RENT from UHAUL if you to go through what I went through. Let me close with a question, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A RESERVATION IF YOU DONT HONOR IT???? At least your company could have done is informed us of your stupid policy!!!!!

We were transferred to this location as the San Ramon, CA took our reservation but closed before scheduled.
This was a big inconvenience for us and a waste of iur time but thank you to the Dublin location for taking care of us.
The price on the Internet quoted $55, the morning of pick up $86+ , & final charge $103+. A bit disappointed in the difference.
If storing anything up to their maximum limit of $10,000 beware the fine print differentiates between theft and breaking/entry. What I thought was $10,000 of coverage is really $0.00.
Location was hard to find from the freeway.
I rent from U Haul quite often and this location has to be the cleanest friendliest quickest u hauls in the country. it's always a pleasure when I have to rent from you Thank you very much!

My only complaint is that your customer service was unable to find a truck size I needed locally so I had to drive 35 min to Dublin to get a truck and then was charged an initial $40+ for mileage when I had no other choice. I am a single mother on a very tight budget and that additional amount will put a dent in my budget. When you do not have a truck locally convenient, you should wave additional mileage as it is my inconvenience... And drive that long distance to give you my patronage. The front desk can be more friendly.
Headrest in front drivers seat could not be adjusted and was very uncomfortable...making it impossible to sit up straight. My head had to be slightly forward.

My truck only had a little over 1/4 tank of fuel. Fill the trucks up when they are rented. I returned it with a little under 1/4 tank and was charged an extra $30. That was not acceptable.
Better Information about pricing and what's applicable to a particular price. Also the staff should have a more comprehensive knowlege base on how to look up drop off locations.

This was a secondary pick up location. The scheduled place was closed with no explanation, got transit office on phone who got me another location but the lady was rude and had poor communication skills

both reps for pickup and drop off were outstanding.. the rep for drop-off was hilarious and very customer oriented... he really had a great way of talking to people.. a true people person which is great since most of this planet are "introvert text-messaging" humans....

The hasps on the U boxes need to have a standard size that will accept bigger locks.

I had a good experience, prices were fair for a 4 day rental of a trailer if I returned it to same location, one way was TOO EXPENSIVE.
The only improvements I would recommend would be a discount on multiple days for moving pads & more importantly, some type of tie off rings for the rails inside the trailer, there is very little room to get any type of tie off in the slots.
I recommend creating a YouTube video regarding towing a trailer. I might've used it esp regarding making turns w/trailers & backing up.
The guys loaned me a hitch because I forgot mine (back in Sacramento!). Just a great experience dealing with moving professionals. I am returning the hitch on Tuesday since I must return to San Ramon on other business.

Since I am not very familiar with trucks and UHAUL; walk me through some of the controls such as hazard light location; adjusting mirrors etc. I had to do both and needed to call them for same.
I booked online for $112. When we got there it took forever. We had done the express checkin. No such thing. Also they tried to charge us $280 total saying it was taxes and insurance. They then changed their story telling us the computer charged us a $100 deposit for paying cash. We used our credit card!!

There seemed to be a gentleman living in one of the units. I accessed my unit twice, and he was there both times. He parked his vehicle extremely close, and he disappeared inside for several hours.

Emails start before the due date, on the actual due date emails show double amts due plus phone calls start. There is no reason for these aggressive tactics. Give people a chance to pay the bill!

The staff at the storage site told me I had to return the truck there, but the website said I could return it elsewhere for a discount.
The truck turn signal wasn`t working but U-Haul gave a discount on the rental so it worked out well.
We picked up the Uboxes, the staff had them ready, they hitched them to our vehicle and when we returned with them they did all the work od un- hitching. Very easy and user friendly.
Perfectly met my needs for the 3 months I needed storage.

I was locked out of my storage locker because of the lock I used. I have not received any response from Uhaul, nor have I received any refund or credit to my account for having no access to it.
After being locked out of my unit that was paid through the month, and the staff refusing to remove their lock so I could access my unit, since they did not like my lock, I took my business elsewhere.

The key pads for the gate in/out the storage facility was not working.
Everything was perfect and the paperwork to rent the unit went as quickly as possible.
General Manager Randy Rutherford handled himself in a very professional manner and was very courteous in all of his dealings including his very capable staff assisting me.

There was a lady there that day that was very friendly, and went out of her way to help me through the gate. No one else even gave a smile and were disgruntled with fellow staff.
Multiple employees behind counter, only one helping a long line of customers. Does not matter why, it sends a wrong impression of the importance of customers when that happens.
The front gate is secure but all someone has to do to get in is jump the fence in the back by the rv/boat storage were the barbed wire has been removed.
Rate of $175 for small outside unit for 1 month is ridiculous.
The facility was poorly staffed and the staff there were poorly trained. I got different information from different staff members.
No problems other than I wished there were longer hours to access our locker included in standard contract, say to 9pm.
I only showed up once to drop off my items and once to pick them up and then check out, but I had a good experience both visits.

Storage customers seem to play second fiddle to others.
Had absolutely no issues here which taught me not to believe everything you read in the review section. Everything went smooth with convenience being the biggest plus.
Limited Sunday access times is off. Its the weekend and they close at 6?
Also, time isnt Prorated when you close it out? Why? I didnt pay for the whole month that I used?
Your company not just providing a physical product-storage, but also an intangible product - SERVICE. Please give your employees a professional level customer service training.
I asked questions, there responses were given in a rude tone of voice, like they thought my questions were dumb and a waste of time. Never going here again and not recommending it to anyone.

Very difficult to close my account. i was billed for late charges 2 weeks after I vacated. Can`t get store on the phone. I think the staff is overworked.

The storage process was ok except the external door to our unit was locked when I got there at 9:45am.

Refused to open a side gate so my moving driver could get in.Told driver to rent a truck to ferry stuff to 18 wheeler.Driver had to thread a needle to get through the main gate. Staff is quite rude.

The 1st 2 units I rented leaked. When we suggested they should fix that, the person simply shrugged. The third unit I was given had a mouse trap next to a hole near the floor.

Had my Travel Trailer hit by another U-Haul customer while at the Dublin,CA facility. No effort made by Manager to find out who did it, despite security cameras being used.
It was a good ecperoence. We had no issues with the facility.

Uhaul chaarges extra money to access after regular hours, which I do not think is legal, since I am paying a premium for rent on a unit that I should have access for 24hours a day.

Very expensive for a unit in comparison to other area facilities.
Good storage facility only issue was they screwed up my account and made my account past due. It took many tries to resolve issue with management.
My only complaint was that I was charged more than quoted via a phone rep when I showed up at store for 24 hour access.
U-Haul is too fragmented as a company too many people who don`t know what`s going on especially at the Corporate level not so much at the local facility.

The closing time should be extended to 9pm, right now the storage closing time is 7pm. After work hrs, I found difficulty to get my stuff out from storage before closing time 7pm.

Dale has 0 customer service skills. he cursed at me in front of other customers because someone over the phone said something to him. no need to take it out on other customers, very non professional.
Great facility -
Not great facilities: Newark, Orange, and Jersey City, New Jersey. Rude people, dirty trucks, non-functioning air conditioner, incovenient practices.

The process was slow it took for ever to get my storage unit. I had to upgrade to a 15x5 U had reserved a 5x10 it was too small I had to go to he next size.

When the storage area closes it should still allow access OUT.I entered and it closed for the day while I was inside.The security gate area was closed and wouldnt to open to let me out.

We were charged for the free month. Still no refund as of today, Feb.27, 2010.
The only draw back was when we were moving out we noticed that our unit had a leak and there were rodent droppings on the ground.
A leak in the storage facility damaged much of my stored goods. Then, I was charged a full month`s rent for staying 3 days over my monthly term.

The only thing I would like to add is if they could have better hours for the customer to gain access to their storage 24hrs and closing the lease online would be convenient.

The customer service people were liars and had horrible attitudes. You also have to wait FOREVER to get to a customer service person b`c they are terribly understaffed.
Several of my payments were lost, causing an employee to be let go. There was major water damage in my unit causing over $4000 in loss to my property.
staff member on customer service line difficult when we called to switch drop off locations. She rudely asked if we knew we were under contract, it was not possible tho man at main uhaul said yes.

The no-prorating policy and due-date cannot be changed policy are not very customer friendly. In this economy you should be providing better customer service.
I have had numerous breakins during the five years I maintained my unit. The staff was not stable...not a good experience for me at all!
Service is excellent at this location. When we arrived there was a long line but in no time at all they had assisted all the customers. Our customer service rep, Dee, made this a pleasant experience.
