we had a confirmed/reserved 26ft truck. The evening before pick-up, the location called to say the best they could give us was a 20ft truck and an open tailor. Not what we asked for and not what we needed to say the least. We took what we could get but at the expense of leaving behind several items for our out of state move. Very disappointed. If I had received a phone call with enough time to rebook with a different company, I would have done so.
Customer service was great. The two guys there did excellent work and were very helpful.

I was not told that the trailer I was rented would NOT be at this location. I made the reservation there, and was not told it would not be there to pick up. When I called to confirm the reservation, I was also not told that it would not be at that location. So when when I went to pick it up, one of the employees was very condescending say that, of course it wasn't there, like I should have known that. The other employee was very accommodating and offered to go to the other location to get the trailer, which he did.
Far too many issues with billing in less than a year with little concern from the employees.
Although the staff is very friendly, they couldn't complete what I was there for. It ended up costing me more money when I had to take it somewhere else.

The manager at the center was very helpful and understanding. I was able to get into a storage room quickly, and turn in the equipment once I was finished with it without hassle.
They were very professional.
We called multiple times so we could get our U-Box and unpack it. No one answered and no one gave us a call back. We eventually had to go into the store because phone calls werent working. By the time we got in there, it was then too late to get it on the day we needed it (our day off). So we had to work in pick up, un-packing the U-box, and dropping it back off, all into a busy work day. When we first rented the U-Box we were charged an extra $15. I was told i had to get ahold of the manager of the store to get a refund on that. I again called multiple times and left multiple messages and never got my refund or even my call returned. We will be moving cross country in the next year or two and are having a hard time even considering using U-Haul services again.

Make sure uhaul locations that are available for drop off show up on the rental page. Only one location showed up on mine and there was no uhaul equipment there; only a job shack. It would have been nice if the bigger uhaul location could have been selected for drop off online.
Nothing, the service was impeccable!
Remove the "hand truck" from the cargo area. It's in the way and you can't move it without breaking the tap and getting charged. It's a good idea but an inconvenience.

The facilities were very clean and the customer service was great.
The trailer had diesel fuel spilled in it. Although they attempted to clean it out, it is close to impossible to get the fumes completely out. I felt like I should have been given a different trailer. Everything I hauled smelled like diesel.
The staff was always helpful and friendly! The place was awesome I felt like my items were very secure!
I was late picking up the truck the staff was very nice about it and treated me well anyway. I got off work later than planned. but the moving went well and cost was as represented. Thank you for your patience and providing rentals to assist in our moving needs.
Truck had a burnt out headlight at the time of pick up...did not seem to care.

Wrong size trailer after giving demension of what I was hauling to person at Uhaul. Only going less than a mile went across street found out my item didn't fit returned trailer within .5 hour with zero refund after telling mgr it was the wrong size. I didn't have it anytime. Ridiculous!
The equipment, a Chevy pickup and auto transport, were excellent. The pickup got 18 mpg and ran well @ 65-70 mph. The auto transport towed easily and was easy to maneuver, even backing. The cost, however, was very high (2500 miles and one week cost almost $1000) and for that reason, uhaul is the last place I will rent from next time.
To not call the customer 3 times before the equipment is due rushing them to use the equipment only because you made another reservation for equipment that wasn't due back until Saturday at 3p. I made a 18 hour trip from Michigan to Minot,ND and was extremely tired and upset that I was handled rudely and rushed I paid $470.42 for the 6x12 trailer that I had 5 days to return. No I would not ever recommend this particular UHaul to anyone and I would definitely go out of the way to another one if I had to.

I dealt with the General Manager, Lyle K., when I picked up the truck. While I was doing this, the GM made several remarks regarding how busy the weekend was, and how he did not think it was right that I was going to have one of his trucks rented for 4 days for an in town move. He said these comments very sarcastically. Not once did he act professional, or seem like he appreciated my business. When I was completing my paperwork, he also began to chastise one of his associates who was working behind the counter for not checking a vehicle in as quick as she should of. I was always taught the importance of taking care of the customer, and coaching associates in private when it was needed.
It was interesting that when I returned the truck, and another associate was checking things back in, I inquired as to the name of the GM. The associates exact words were, "Why, was he a jerk to you? He is always like that!" I did not have to prompt him for these comments at all. The management of this particular location needs to be reviewed if this is how one customer, and one associate felt after just one experience.
I notified the original location and the Browns Mills location that I received a call from Uhaul in Fargo, ND one day before my rental that the 4'8' trailer I reserved was not available, so they upgraded me to a 5'8' trailer for the original price for the 4'8' trailer. When I went to the Minot Uhaul location I was charged for the 5'8' trailer. They told me to tell the Uhaul in Browns Mills about the overcharge. I did tell them about the overcharge, and no one did anything. So, the confirmed price for the 4'8' was not honored in any way. Nor did anyone make this right. I will not use Uhaul again. And I will recommend to all Military personnel that they should not use Uhaul equipment.
The service needs to be faster. It took a half hour minimum for 2 customers. This is way too slow.
I like that could park my vehicle to my storage unit. I found the storage carts very helpful to haul stuff to unit. The sliding doors are a plus while entering storage unit.
It is not where we reserve the unit. A substituion was given, they called it a free up grade. The result was a large, heavy unit, which cost more gas to haul. We requested a unit in mid-August. Paperwork was not started until the day before pick-up. A friend, who uses this company, says this happens quite frequently on the East Coast. Check frequently to be sure you get what you order.
don't think that every person that walks in has never pulled a trailer, he talked to me like I had never seen a trailer before if he'ed looked at my drives license he would have seen I have a class A license.

Probably check to make sure that all vehicles are cleaned out before giving them to another customer.
They installed my hitch lights backwards and I had to drive 1500 miles with it that way. And the trailer was so not worth $655 for 2 days of use!
The owner/manager of the store could be more pleasant when interacting with customers. A smile goes a long way.....
I made an appointment to have a hitch installed on my Isuzu Trooper. the next week when I showed up on time for the install. I was informed that the part had not shown up yet. I drove over 200 miles to have this done. No apoligie or anything from Lyle the manager. They told me it would probably be there the next day. So I spent the night in the area, cost me another $100.00 dollars plus I missed work another day in addition to the motel fees and food. Lyle told me he would call me the next day but you guessed it NO CALL! I called over times but they don't let you call the store direct the switchboard people said Lyle had received my messages and would be in touch. Well another whole day wasted and no call. I will never do business with these people again! And I have been a U-haul long time customer for years.

I don`t understand why I had to pay a full month for storage that I didn`t use for the full month. Other storage places prorate the days in storage.
Way better than the Uhaul location in Williston, ND.
The employees are great. The self storage is great. I rented a truck to move and will never do it again. It was literally a death trap. I'm a CDl truck driver here in the Bakken. I've driven some shady equipment - your truck was the worst! I am local and only moved 1 mile away and was pressed for time, otherwise I would of returned it.
Change attitude of employees. I rented a truck and was supposed to have it for the 24 hour window. The employee tried to get my daughter's to use a van instead because it "was a busy time and other people are moving and need to rent." Our time was cut short. The employee was very rude. When I got the bill, it was more than I expected because he signed me up for some coverage - nothing about this was mentioned when I made the reservation. Very poor service. Would not recommend.
The general manager was sarcastic. I had difficulty closing the overhead door on the truck and went for help. He said he knew exactly what was wrong and showed us. Told us to use a crowbar to loosen it. When my friend then asked if there would be damage to the truck and would I be charged he said well yes. We walked away and called another u haul number who assisted us.
Not so great Customer Service
Lyle and his staff would extra mile to make you feel welcome so yes i would and will tell my friends thats the only storage company to use in minot
I had requested a u haul trailer almost 3 weeks in advance and when I went to pick my trailer up it wasn't there. No one knew why so they sent me to the customer service number and I found out there was never a u haul available for me in the first place. They told me there would be one available 3 days later, which was 3 days too late. I had to have my stuff loaded and out of my home that day. I've never been so stressed or irritated with a move. Needless to say I will be finding another way to get my belongings transported again if need be.

The place was OK but not uhaul it self
Manager was rude and not helpful. Sold a unit to a customer ahead of me even though he called me to pick up the unit.

Customer service was amazing. I pulled up. They unhooked me after the inspection. Easiest experience I've ever had with a Uhaul rental!
Have Dolly's available to those who request them, and when you forget to give them don't look at us like we are stupid for mentioning that we didn't get one.
Clarify where does it say in the contract at what time it is expectedto return equiptment and if some other dealer out of state rents the equipment before being turned in, that should not be the costumers problem. Rushing me when I had time reserved to turn in equipment is ridiculous.
My daughter so in tears when I unloaded her furniture. The dust that came into the trailer was terrible. We had to on the steps of her new apartment wash down everything. The seal around the door was full of holes which allowed the trailer to fill with dirt and dust. I feel I deserve so compensation for all the extra work we went through. I had such high hopes renting this trailer but feel U-Haul dropped the ball on this one. I would like to speak to some about this matter. Sincerely Jeff Krueger

Could us a bit of cheer. Make sure you know the time of day it needs to be returned.
The box was fine but we told the u haul workers multiple times to not send the box to OK. Wd wanted to store it in Minot. WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION THEY SENT IT TO OK!
The unit was hard to access, and lots of turns to get out to the car to loaeasier to access, as we had a lot of stuff to load, and hard to make small loads on the carts

The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. The storage unit and inside walking area were clean. The $10 for 24 hours access for the month, was worth it.

I didn`t like the the rates have changed on us so many times. It got to expensive. Not to mention the first change in price happened a week after we rented.
The only thing that really concerned me was the break in, that made it feel not so safe to me that whoever it was broke into multiple units. But clean and good payment system

The gentleman that helped me was very friendly. There was another man there, and he was very indifferent to everyone. His attitude was very unwelcoming.
24 hour access was not explained to me and when I arrived after hours with a U-Haul truck to unload my furniture. I was unable to until the next day during business hours.

Had a storage unit for about a year, never a problem processing a payment, no damage to my property, no negative experience whatsoever.
I lost a red dolly there. Did anyone happen to find one last September. My daughter was supposed to ask and she never did.

the only thing is the bill. it does not allow you to pay it early. the only way is to set up auto pay. I don`t think that right

I used 7 days this month and you charge me full price. There better not be anyone renting it this month than double dipping crooks.
This uhaul storage was literally so easy and had helpful staff, I`m still in shock I moved into a unit so quickly. It`s super clean and I feel good knowing how safe all my belongings are!

The storage units are indoors in a well lit heated building, a nice choice in the bitter cold of North Dakota.
The staff was unprofessional every time I attempted to reach them. They did not give me proper access to my unit and told me Oh well when I called to get it fixed.

I bought a 24hr access card which didn`t work so the alarms were set off. After all my troubles and a night of moving stuff they left the original lock on it so I couldn`t even get into my locke
They did not call us within 24 hours after we got the e-mail saying our U-Box was here.Call center never gave them my messages,I called two days in a row! We finally got through and got our U-Box.
They went out of their way to accommodate me in a very difficult time for me. I appreciate all their efforts.
Outstanding assistance in Minot ND with Lyle
One complaint. The card check-in closest to my unit was broken for more than 2 months and still is. Mgmt is aware that it is broken.
The facility is in great shape and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great experience.

When I was doing the paperwork, the guy kept telling me all the different things they required. The cost ended up going from $54.00 to almost $80.00. After all of that, my security card didn`t work.
Stuff came away with a smell.
No covers for U-Boxes at time of pick up so had to load furniture to trailer unload at U-Haul. Double work, behind schedule. Ridiculous at best. Should have been a discount for delay.

staff forgot to send it until after I called in 9 days later to inquire about it and it was still at the facility.
The WORST service, BY FAR! Arrived 3 1/2 weeks late, they even broke into the boxes before finally delivering them. Complaint never gets to anyone that can resolve it. I`d NEVER recommend to anyone!

The boxes didn`t close, they didn`t come with the guaranteed moving pads.The tow dolly I reserved a month ago was only available and hour and a half away, with less than 24hr notice.
Don`t like walking through mud between the customer service desk and the the storage rooms.

Registration is cumbersome.
Also, I wanted to keep the Uboxes at my location on-site. They don`t have a way to unload the Ubox from the trailer in a city the size of Minot? One would help
