My experience was excellent from start to finish, first phone call to cargo van return. I'd rent from you again and recommend Uhaul to a friend / 5 stars!
Ensure that the vehicle has a full tank of gas
Provide customer service training to your employees. Counter lady was smoking when I approached and seemed to have disrupted her by coming in. She handed me the key and pointed at a van outside for me to take. The transaction took longer than expected because I had made the reservation at different location. When I dropped the van off there were two young men handling the office. One of them relunctantly checked out the van for ten minutes and returned with "you didn't put gas in it". I did, just not enough apparently. He stated that I had rented the van with 3/4 tank and I returned it with 10/16ths or something and charged me $6 bucks a gal. to make up the difference. A very expensive mistake on my part, but felt more like I was getting ripped off. Finally after paying over $100 for a 50mile rental I walked out of there. The most agravating thing about my experience was that, after everything, I recieved a call from one of the young employees. He told me I broke the handle in thier van. I had not, I borrowed it in that condition. He stated that it must have been me because they check the vans before and after they go out. Frustrated, I did not want to talk with this individual anymore and asked if he could have the manager call me. A week later, I have not recieved a call. My experience was atrocious.

Where do I begin? I made a reservation online and when I arrived to the location they had screwed up and the truck I had reserved was not there and they did not even try to work with me. I really needed a vehicle seeing as i had to move that day! I reserved it for that day for a reason. I ended up to have to settle for a pick up truck! Having a smaller vehicle caused me to make double the amount of the trips that I would not have had to make if I had the vehicle I had reserved for in the place. I ended up paying close to 90.00 in mileage which should not have had to have been so high! The manager at the I-95 Providence, RI location was useless and very rude. He was rude to me and to his employees. I had to rent a storage unit also, but if it not been for that I would definitely not go back to that place again! I should have gotten an upgrade or discount for the hassle and the unnecessary stress that I was put under. I am 19 weeks pregnant and I shouldn't have to be under stress over things that if taken care of properly.
The staff was not in the office when I arrived. I had to wait almost 15 minutes. It also serves as a storage facility so I assume they were in the storage building.
My only problem was that when I signed up I was told that I would be able to access my unit 24 hours. I wasn`t aware that I had to pay an extra fee to get into my unit if I needed to after hours.
COMPLETE IDIOTS. I was repeatedly mischarged, overcharged, and credited so that my bank acct was totally fucked up, even when they SWORE my card wasn`t being charged! Illegal...

I took the time to fill out all the information for the "express check in/out", but the process seemed like none of my info was forwarded to the location/agent.
I recommend this location. We had a good experience and our stuff was secure and in good condition.
everything was good but the cab in my 10' truck smelled like poop.
The staff here are great! They are knowledgeable, friendly, always ready to assist with anything. 9/1 is a very busy time for them, but I saw them juggle multiple customers and phone calls like pros.
The truck had safety issues, we were held behind schedule for mechanical problems and waisted several moving hours bringing the truck back to be repaired. We were not pleased when we received a call to pick up the truck 2 hours away from our location and picked up a old truck with body damage, mechanical issues and falling to pieces (literally). We picked up truck in one location out of state and pick up auto transport in another state because of limited availability. However, the contract was not merge or treated equally. Different return dates. How do you return a hitch two days later without a truck? The auto transport had two damaged tires one with a hole, the other was bald on the left and right side tire had two different size tired which explains the need for more gas. I thank god my family made it safely because clearly we were not properly taken care of with Uhual. Do your own inspection don't trust that everything is safe.
You must tell customers that if they bring the truck back after their designated return time they will be charged an extra day. This was not pointed out to me and I had to argue for a while to avoid the charge.
mostly clean, room for improvement
I Did order a 15' foot truck and they said i reserved a 10' when is not true,y have the emails comfirmations saying that's a 15',and not only that when i call them they let me in hold for almost 25 min,and when they finally pick up it was Connecticut U-haul and again they put me in hold and send me to the one in New York when I'm in Rhode Island, worst experience and really bad costumer service.
They were always very respectable and funny. Lighting was maintained and floors always spotless.

The manager said that the facility was secure but a homeless man was sleeping on the 4th floor!
I don't think the estimated fuel at time of pickup was accurate. I didn't tell the staff at the time. I got the correct amount of gas before I returned the van. Staff didn't agree and I was charged extra $4. which was unnecessary. Everything else was very good. W. Ingram
I had a great experience, Ramon was a very nice guy and very helpful. The new van was also great.
Storage space was a bit cool. Service was great and friendly would definitely recommend and go back.
The only comment I have....we booked early in the day and gave the credit card info to hold the reservation. However, wasn't told that the card had to be in hand along with driver's license once we got there. As we were going to pay cash, didn't think we needed the card again after already giving the info.
Suggestion - please tell customers that this needs to be in hand in order to complete the transaction. Never doing this before, we wasted a lot of time having to go back home and get the card.
Other than that - it worked out fine.
The younger front desk man was the only thing I found great about this space. In all honesty, he should be running it's day to day operations because the manager told me a sack of lies before I came there with my truck.
I was promised a unit to match the truck I reserved, and was told by the manager here I WAS NOT ABLE TO RESERVE THE SPACE UNLESS I CAME IN BEFORE I came with my rental agreement, and assured me their were PLENTY of spots available.
Upon my arrival, I was told this information was untrue, and I could have reserved a spot before hand, and to boot, they could only offer me a way smaller unit because it was the only one even near the size they had left.
If I had shown up any later, I probably would have been S.O.L.
Overall, it was sloppy, and very unprofessional on both ends. No one here has a single clue what is going on.
Card cloned. 2 Latina men on camera using it.. investigation ongoing. called manager, staff said, he aint gone remember to call YOU, bout dat..he coming off vacation with lots on his mind..CALL HIM!

Price was way over, I just past my time for 2 hours and they charge for a full period (24 hours) more, I think isn't fair.
If possible, put up a sign so people driving down Oxford St can see the location.
The experience was a good one. Helped solve a lot of problems in a very short period of time.
Your online reservation system is a joke, and customer service could be improved as well.

Regarding the security issue, the door to our building D was broken left open.
Problem with rats? Saw a rat poison container in my rental space.
This is a stupid survey. yes/no answers are not adequate. You`re not getting good data here--get help designing your survey.
UHaul saved my skin after a failed attempt to use PODS. THANK YOU! Couldn`t have been easier, friendlier or more convenient. What a HUGE relief! Grateful to be in the hands of UHaul.

One problem after another. Payments that were made just magically disappeared, even started bringing witnesses with me when I made my payments and STILL had issues with them saying I hadn`t paid.
The unit I reserved was rented to someone else + the van I reserved for 24hrs was not available for 24hrs.

The added security swipe card system was not necessary. It was inconvenient to swipe the card each time you had to use the elevator. The previous method of typing in a personal code was secure enough.

Only one problem: the manager was kind enough to set my card to late access, but it didn`t work. I was locked in the compound for half an hour. Luckily another customer let me out.
It was a good storage place for the timeframe needed.

Customer service suffered a bit when u-haul purchased the storage center. I`m glad they retained Barb who make the place wonderful.
