Last minute changes very frustrating!
To have come home at 8:45pm on the Saturday evening and received a phone message left at 6:30pm that night that the our location and time were changed for the Sunday morning, was very frustrating.
I had called the Ludwig U-Haul site on the Thursday and confirmed that we could pick up the vehicle there and at 9:30am. Then to get the late notice for the switch of pick up locations and the different time of Noon was very disappointing!
However the staff at the Main St. Buffalo store made a call and had us on our way shortly to a third site that was further away. At the Orchard Pk. site they had the truck ready and we were on our way quickly, it all worked out OK
The customer service reps weren't very helpful and kept putting me on hold and passing me off to others.
These reps need to be able to review the vehicles and locations for these last minute changes so they can help the clients as well as the in-store staff did.
Staff very organized and good custamer care.
In one week, I rented two vehicles. Picking up the vehicles was a breeze, Matthew was very helpful and friendly both times. Both times upon return, the employee who took care of the return was vocal about what a long day it was and he can't wait for it to be over. NOT what someone wants to hear after they've just spent the entire day moving residences. The first week when I returned a van, we had to wait and wait for 30 minutes. Then we noticed an attitude when my Mom wanted to pay with a check. When returning the truck yesterday, we had to wait again so the same employee could get the stats on 2 trucks that were returned AFTER me.
Mark was exceptionally accomidating and hospitable.

Explain everything better instead of treating customer as a number, take a little time and you will get repeat business I will never recommend u haul to anyone in a positive way.
Location is staffed with 2 hard working individuals at pick up. They seem extremely overworked. Addition of another associate perhaps bridging between shifts will help in customer service and location performance. This should in no way be construed that the employees were not working efficiently and effectively. They were working extremely hard and were very friendly and polite.

Make it easier to contact a human at the local office. I had to do everything by phone at a distant location.
The truck brakes were questionable... it was bouncing pretty bad and would probably scare an inexperienced driver. The guys working the counter on a Sunday morning were very organized, pleasant and worked together very well. I would recommend that location.
Very busy and long lines at times but gave me a brand new truck for the cross country drive, excellent!
the man at this location is mean, rude and seems as though he doesn't know HOW to do his job. people who are only interested in collecting a check should stay home!
I was lied too by the service representative and will never use uhaul or recommend it to any of my friends or soldiers ever again. I'd rather buy a car dolly or trailer than rent from your company.
Mark was The employee who I dealt with and I have to say how impressed I was with the knowledgable, professional service I received. Mark made my my move so much easier by getting me the truck and all the items I needed.
I will recommend U-Haul to anyone I know that is moving! Way to go Mark and U-Haul !!
Extremely helpful and courteous. Stopped in days before and the first gentleman was very polite and very helpful. He explained everything (my first time renting!). It was pouring rain when I picked up my truck, and the next gentleman acted like the sun was shining when he went out to pull it around for me! Great place, great people! Highly recommend!
Trailer locks were rusted through. Had to saw them off to use trailer, buy new locks, wasn't reimbursed, filled the tank past the line where it was when I picked it up and still got charged for fuel. Repeat customer no more.
The sign up online was confusing and the contract I originally signed was 60 dollars cheaper than the final. I got charged more than what we had agreed upon and I used less miles than I had accounted for. I am upset that the check in process is not clear as other customers didnt follow the instructions and we're taken first when I was clearly there.
Location seemed understaffed, but understandably.
Attendants were very helpful. Treated each customer professionally (even under pressure with a lot of customers waiting to be served). No grumbling.
The touchpad glitches which causes you to pick an inappropriate level of insurance. This is fine as long as nothing goes wrong, but downright scary if you get in an accident. I will NEVER rent from uhaul again.
Great professional customer service Mark and Matt! You went above and beyond to help me with my truck rental after another U-Haul location failed to come through on the truck rental I originally reserved through them.
In order to avoid a busy summer season, we scheduled our hitch/wiring harness installation on our new truck in February. Now it's time to hook up the camper and go on vacation, and we have no electric brakes! After calling 4 times to try and get an appt, we never received any word back. They have an "answering service". Our only alternative was to go on-line and Chat to get help. We called an 800 and were disconnected after being put on hold for a very long time. When we called back, the person answering the phone mysteriously knew all about our contract and informed us that there were no openings for service for another 3 weeks (!) because "We're actually overbooked". Then when I explained that we only get to go on vacation once a year in early July and asked who else could service us, he said it's the same everywhere. 3 weeks is the earliest we can be seen. I told him that I needed to know who could help us clean up this mess so we can go on vacation and his reply: "Isn't that nice that you get to go on vacation? I refuse to speak to someone who is being rude. Click". I did not raise my voice and I did not use any profanity. He did not have an answer for me, and needed to end our call and that's the method he chose to get off the hook. This is terrible Customer Service. I placed a complaint with the BBB.
Over all it was a very positive experience. Making the reservation was easy and I checked in on line. The truck was clean and in good condition.

The mileage was incorrect on my rental agreement, it did not match the vehicle. The clerk did not correct it in the computer. Also, the dolly I reserved and paid for was not in the vehicle. It appeared that they were unprepared for my reservation.

There was a published rate that was cheaper than the rate I was charged. And the estimated fees were not based on the description I gave of how far I was driving. Felt like a bait and switch.
Your people were totally rude. They do not give complete details over the phone when making reservations. This place is a scam.

Time to upgrade, the old equip. Should be lighter/stronger (high strength steel and aluminum are readily available).

Truck was in serious disrepair. Felt very unsafe driving it and would not shift, check engine light on, burning oil. Uncomfortable going more than 40 mph in the truck b/c of the peaking RPMs
Nothing. After traveling 350 miles to this location, these people were awesome
Engine gets loaded down when trying to climb hill and speeds go up and down, need larger engine in the 20 ft truck! We had to use emergency flashers so we could gain speed to drive! Very annoying!
I have rented from this location many times, always with a very good experience, but NOT THIS TIME! I called to rent a flat-bed car carrier trailer. There are two sizes there, but only 1 of the sizes fits my car (its wider). When I called the guy at the desk said that they were out of the model that fit my car. I drove the 20 minutes distance and saw that there were 9 trailers, 7 of which fit my car. I went to the desk and told the guy at the desk about this, and he blew some excuse at me about the system. Then I asked him to walk out back with me so that we could select the correct version for me to rent. He said no, he would not walk back there with me, and said I could ask the hitch installer to go with me. The hitch installer knows nothing about renting trailers btw. I asked for the manager. He was out. The guy at the desk said "I am done" and refused to rent me a trailer. I was shocked. Keep in mind that I was not 1 single bit rude to this guy!!! He told me I could call the manager and handed me the managers card. The manager did not answer after 10 attempts. I noticed another cell number on the bottom back, for TODD, another manager higher up the ladder. Thankfully Todd answered the phone and resolved the situation for me. The guy at the desk should NEVER be allowed to work in any position where he has contact with customers.

make sure your broadband service and / or software doesn't fail and hold people up for 45 minutes
Polite, friendly service. Everything was ready even though we arrived early. The only issue was that they said the fuel tank was full so I had to return it full. When I got into the truck, the gas gauge was not on full. I ended up putting over $20 in even though we drove only 6 miles. It wasn't worth my time to hassle with it at the start though.
Awesome service; well-maintained vehicle. No complaints and would rent again from this location.

your regional office in Rochester area was absolutely rude and not customer friendly. unreasonable and I would not recommend U haul at all because of a person named Chris (no last name offered/denied).
Everything was great! Online registration was easy and all the paperwork at the location was there when we went to check in. We actually changed our mind about the size of the truck when we were there and it was very easy to change. Your employee was very helpful and made things go very smoothly.
I would use your service again and tell others about it!

Rep stated he wanted to give me a credit for the condition of the truck but said oh sorry you already paid in full so I can't. Excuse me but I paid on a credit card and a credit can easily be put through. Now I walked away with a distaste in my mouth because of that comment. I do not think I would recommend your company at this point.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating! I'm really glad I went here for my moving truck.

Everything was ready and all set to go on time. very nice.
Used another location a year ago for 5 days and was never charged for milage ... so was very dissapointed in this location for charging me with milage. the brakes were seriously spongey and doubt they'd pass a ny state inspection.
Just spray the tie down ratchets with some WD40
Every thing else was excellent. The guy working was very helpful .Made sure everything was hooked up right and all the lights worked I think his name was Mike
The truck we received was soaking wet inside-- and the answering service was never turned off so we had no way to reach the store directly via phone. We drove the truck back to the store and received less than satisfactory service-- we were pretty much told tough luck and dried it our ourselves.

The fuel indicator on my receipt stated the tank was at 1/2. it was actually at 3/8. My total mileage was 14 miles and I put 1.3 gallons in the truck which put the tank right back at 3/8. I would have been very angry if I had been charged a refueling fee. I think it's important to be accurate when recording the fuel gauge. Otherwise it was a good experience.
Glad I was upstairs when the flood hit.
UBox was adequate for my needs. Would have liked a sturdier back door.

The lady who greeted us, signed in our truck, and directed us to storage unit was very helpful.
They shipped my u box out quick and easy.

received an emailphone call notification after I personally found out they were here had been for 3 days. Although to try redeem themselves they let me empty the boxes inside instead of in the rain.
Everyone on the staff there was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make this easy and affordable.

was not informed that the storage unit was up 10 steps. no elevator in building. zilch customer service initiative on employees part. won`t be back.

The staff was always so helpful. I have been a customer for almost 4 years. I had to relocate my unit b/c I was paying too much. I found another facility that is charging me $46 for a nice size unit.
I was promised ground floor storage but there wasn`t any open. The first storage bin offered had oil in it. Employee Ryan was unhelpful. Was not happy I had to buy a lock.
There was a cust unloading, and I knew this cust was over his head. When I asked the following week, your desk person told me he helped him unload, and worked a pay-forgive deal. Anyone can call me.
The units don`t have lights inside and are hard to cart your belongings to.
The two U-Haul rep`s at different times that waited on me were helpful and understanding of my requirements. I set up a storage room rental and will be setting up a truck rental for next month.
the manager forgot to remove my name after I did clean up the storage on june 23rd.
The service was great and i hope that the new manager will maintain the facility`s good reputation.
Would have appreciated a light in the storage unit but over-all very positive experience and helpful staff. Thanks for everything.
