I hooked up the equipment myself since the employee didn't come outside to help me.
I rented two separate trucks for my move. One time I walked into the building with the two reps standing right in front of me, one of them was the manager and no one addressed me or asked if I needed help. After a while they both looked at each other and wondered who I was. The other time I was returing a truck and waited in the 'staging lane'. I waited there for a very long time but finally walked in the location only to find two reps doing nothing. What is going on at this place?
We drive an extra 8 miles to use this location over the local ones because their service is greater and they are SO much more accomodating!
Don't try to rent a truck with engine trouble indicators lit up.
MY TRUCK WOU,D JUST DIE RANDOMLY I CALLED THE HELP LINE GOT PLACED ON HOLD FOR SEVERAVL MIN AT THAT POINT THE TRUCK RESTARTED SO I MADE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY I TOLD THE LOCATION ABOUT THIS AND ALL THEY SAID WAS THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT AND CALL ME ON MONDAY TODAY IS MONDAY 11/16 AND I HAVE RECIVED NO CALL AND I WILL POSTING MY REVIEW ON SEVERAL MEDIA LOCTIONS
My only complaint is that the back of the truck was soaking wet and there was all kinds of debris inside from the last renter. It has rained the night before so can kind of understand some dampness in the back but this truck had actual puddles inside that we needed to take extra time protecting my items from.
The pickup process was super simple and the gentlemen behind the counter were all incredibly friendly and helpful!
Parking and traffic flow was very congested....but it was really busy when we arrived. Great staff, no hassles.
the trailer was shot the old prick that was working there almost got a punch in the head he should be demoted to back room sweeper only
The website needs to be looked over. After making a reservation, I had the company change it twice on us. The last change was the day before my move. Luckily, we got the job done in time. I lost an hour of trick or treating with my daughter due the change and lost a lot of help from our friends but we managed in the end.
Very quick turn in for both units. Very effective

Employee asked if I needed help hooking the trailer up. The location I normally go to just hooks it up without asking anything.
I didn't receive all call nor confirmation until after my pick up time, I had to go to 2 locations (waste of my time) and they did not honor my 10% promo code. However the truck was clean.
Your service was great but the truck that I was driving had something wrong with the front end and was shaking very badly. I didn't have time to return it and get another one. I could not drive over 40 miles an hour without feeling safe. I am hoping that you will fix it before the next person drives it.
Reserved a 10x10 online and brought the email with me confirming it to be told was not available. Now in 10x5 which does NOT fit my needs. I have more to put in the storage room and nowhere to put it
Return process was inefficient. Not enough employees, manager oblivious to waiting customers.
One comment about Uhaul service in general. I have had issues with more than one location when calling. If nobody answers, you get transferred to someone in another state who can`t assist as well.
The website said the only available trucks were small vans and 24ft and 26ft trucks, but was happy to find out when I got there they had a 20ft truck available which worked perfectly!
I was very happy with my U-Haul van rental. The vehicle was very easy to drive and also to load and unload. I would not hesitate to rent one again.
I called and asked for 1st floor availability for 10x10. When I got there they rented me the room and THEN found out it wasnt useable because someone had locked it. terrible service
I originally booked via your website and received a confirmation that I could obtain my rental at a close location. When I received my verification on Friday morning the location had changed to over 29 miles away. I called the regional office and was informed this was my fault as that's what happens when you don't book far enough in advance. Your regional staff are very rude and unprofessional. K had no choice but to keep the booking as I had others to help me. This booking change cost me ~$60. Next time I'll take this into account when I seek to rent a moving van.
This was not the original location I was supposed to pick up. Original location was 380 Connecticut St Buffalo, NY, about a mile and a half from my house. Instead after waiting in line for about a half hour I was told not only was the truck I reserved not there but the closest location was this one, 16 miles away, and they only had a 17' instead of the original 20' I reserved. So not only did I have a moving crew waiting for over an hour to get started, I also had unexpected wasted time and gas on my own personal vehicle for having to drive out of my way to pick up this smaller vehicle and not to mention the personal trips I made after to move the rest of my belongings that didn't fit in the truck on the first trip because after our first trip my helpful crew could not make second one due to time. HUGE inconvenience!!
I think a rep. Should go over the truck before leaving the area.

Staff was excellent.
When vehicles are checked in; I highly suggest that mileage is checked by U-Haul staff and amount of gas in tank periodically checked at the nearest gas station for accuracy of being full. These 2 suggestions can stop a lot of discrepancies in turning a vehicle back in by a savvy customer.

At the time I was picking up my vehicle, the store was really busy. Unfortunately there was only one person working in the store. He did the best he could under the circumstances.

This was my third and probably final experience with Uhaul. All different locations. I asked for a truck at 8am. I was told they would work as close that as possible. They sent me an email confirming 12pm. Fine, that was okay. I then called 15 minutes before, and was told my reservation was 2:15pm. Until I proved with my confirmation email that this was incorrect, the representative admitted they were wrong. Because of this, I lost 3 people who were going to help us move because our local football team was playing at 4:25pm that day, and they were not missing the game. We also ended up moving much of our stuff in the dark. They gave me a $50 refund, when I believe we deserved an entire refund. Absolutely ridiculous. I have already reached out to a contact at corporate, and if this issue is not resolved in a more approriate manner, all I can say is, your business will not thrive or grow. When in your building, 3 other customers were dealing with similar issues. This is bad.
The staff at the orchard park location was very professional, efficient and attentive.
I was billed over 90 miles in error. It was corrected after contacting customer service.

I have nothing but good things to say about the location. My experience with the U- Haul company itself, however, was dreadful. I will never rent a vehicle from U-Haul again. I originally reserved (online) a 17' truck from a location about 10 minutes from my former home. I called U-Haul and requested to pick it up at 830a. I received a phone call from U-Haul the day prior to my move, notifying me that the only truck available was a 15', (smaller than what I needed) at noon (3 hours later than I was moving), a half hour away from the home I was moving from- which, coincidentally, was 5 minutes away from the home I moved to! So, not only was it extremely inconvenient for me to drive a half hour to get the truck, drive a half hour back to my former home, and then another half hour to my new home, my move was extremely difficult because my belongings did not all fit in the smaller truck. And, I had to inconvenience the help I had arranged because my move was delayed 4 hours. I have rented from U-Haul 4 times in the past, and have never had a problem before. Because of this last experience, I am beyond disappointed with U-Haul, and would not even recommend U-Haul to my worst enemy. U-Haul made my move much more stressful than it needed to be.
I booked my reservation for a location close to my apartment at 7am, I had friends and family ready to move everything in the morning; u haul never contacted me until day of that a truck was not available for my preferred location; it wasn't until 3pm and 30 min away that I could have picked up the truck ! By that time I had no friends available to help move!
Was checked in fast smooth the van I rented was clean ran well and when I found I needed to extend my rental for another week no problem. I rent from a van at lest three times a year to move antiques and will continue renting with this company as long as continue the same service. Thank you susan
Your management decision to move my pickup location without my approval from 5 min away to 30 min away was very poor. I was given 2 conflicting reasons for the change. Only the concern given by Jason Woronicki and the very friendly staff at West Seneca saved the day.
THE REP WHO HELPED ME BOOK MY RENTAL DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE RENTAL A DIFFERENT REP HAD TO FIX EVERYTHING.
My only complaint is that the employee did not tell me when the truck had to be returned. Im used to it being 24hrs so I returned it late. They really should inform customers of this.
When I picked up my trailer it was raining. The servie attendant was reluctant to go outside and help me hook up the trailer to my hitch. When he accompanied me, he mostly watched. He never checked my work. It later fell off. He didn't seem to care too much.
Attendant was very courteous and knowledgeable.
Always receive quick & professional service.
Only reason I rated location poor is that it was over 25 miles from my house and I could get the 26th footer transfered to a closer location to me.
Also, I received the wrong number of furniture pads (it was noticeable one bag had less than 6 in it). Manager threw in 2 spares but I should have requested a full count of all of them-48 to be sure I got all I was renting. When returning, I only had 47 blankets.
Have all parts available when customer arrives for appointment. When missing part arrives contact the customer. It is almost impossible to contact the local office by phone. When I reached the backup call center it took over 3 days before the local office called back to set up a follow up appointment. Parts taken off during hitch installation were left in the back of the vehicle rather than reinstalled When I arrived for the follow up appointment they could not locate the part they had ordered. Check on parts availability before appointments
Nothing the lady I dealt with was the most caring kind helpful patient person she went way out of her way to help me make sure I had everything I needed. Gave directions to lowes to gas station absolutely the best customer service ever the world needs more ppl like her she seemed to love her job and treated me like I was a long lost friend, I couldn't ask for anything more except for a raise for this young lady she knows her job has great customer service skills and represents your company well & with pride please give her a raise you don't find ppl like her today I loved her so much I gave her a hug goodbye n thanked her over n over for her kindness I wish I remembered her name long hair freckles great smile about 45
The guy was very nice BUT...really the cargo van was stuck in between 2 other vans. I had to ask a maintenance guy to back it out for me. I drive a honda fit. This van was HUGE. Also even if you rent a car the sales guy comes out and says...let me show you where the wipers are the lights how to change the dam radio...really give me the key and have a nice day.......REALLY

Rented a pick up truck and everything went very smooth! Everyone I dealt with was very kind and helpful! The only issue was when I booked the truck on-line at a closer location and I called that location to verify, only to find out they do not rent trucks there! That was a bit weird to have it offered on-line! But I had a great rental experience at U-Haul and I would definitely rent there again! Thank you!
Communications between depts, especially when changes are made!!! Also, make it clearer what the customer has to do and responsible for when it's their first time.
Pleased with the service and personal service we received, every one very helpful which made our move much easier.
We were 30 minutes late picking up the truck and they allowed us to keep it 30 minutes longer. We appreciate that.
Honesty, NOTHING needs to be improved. I was 2nd or third in line when I arrived, and the staff answered everyone's questions and set them up with trucks/equipment efficiently. The man I worked with was cordial, engaging, and very helpful. I was in and out in under 10 minutes despite being in line, and the staff was excellent. I've worked with u-haul and other companies for rentals in the past and none were this well set up and efficient. Kudos to the staff; they should be recognized for their good work.
Have used this location a couple of times; great service and will not hesitate to use this site again.
The auto dolly did what it was supposed to do I moved my auto without problems
Continue with the drop box for keys. I was not able to get there by 8pm, so this is very helpful.
I was told that my box was going to be delivered on August 26th, but its not coming until Aug 31st which is my first day at my new job.

Truck had so much cigarette smoke in it I had to drive with the windows down and it still made me sick. No apology or discount was offered.

Improve your reservation system and call center. If I call about a car hauler, and you tell me it's there, it should be there. If I reserve a car hauler and set a time, you should have a car hauler that I reserved, not tell me no. Then when I drop off the dolly (that I had to take in place of the car hauler ) two hours later, after you close, see the car hauler still sitting there. It's unacceptable.

Van was difficult to drive. The gas pedal and the rubber mat with the engine cover. Had to drive with two feet

The register process online was somewhat repetitive (asking for same info multiple times) but other than that my rental experience was good & drop off was quick & convenient
Horrible experience. Staff were clueless, couldn`t get anything right. No lights or blown lights, floor uneven making it hard to move anything heavy, also description of unit completely wrong

Areaso of concern:
1) location indicated that they had a hitch available for my car. When I went to have it installed,it turned out to be defective. The mechanic indicated that he had noticed it was defective on a prior installation but failed to take it out of stock.
2) hitch ball was flipped around by the staff to make the trailer level. Staff did not install a lock washer on the nut. The nut and trailer ball became loose during the trip and could have caused significant damage and injury had I not discovered the problem. Nate in Newton Iowa saved the day but was not impressed with the job done in orchard park.
3) orchard park did however get the hitch installed and took some money off for my inconvenience.
4) as a customer dealing with a local office, it was very frustrating trying to contact them as they would not answer their phone and it was always routed to your call center. Call center was not informed of the issue and could not provide updates.
I had made reservation two weeks in advance with an upgrade a week in advance- Plenty of notice. First, tried to reserve at a location (Carbelas Olean Rd) near my move but was moved to this location (Southtowns). When paying for mileage this can add up. If this location doesn't have vehicles it should not be an option. Arrived at 10am sharp and there was no vehicle. No email, no call. After 20mins/30mins everything worked out - but there was a lot of unnecessary aggravation and re planning.

Great people and service at this location. UHAUL corporate has no respect for the customer, they lie and mislead, offer false guarantees, and don't care that they are screwing the customer to maximize profits.
The orchard park rd loctaion is the best i use them every year for my fair set up and tear down as well as any time i need a uhaul ... I don't go anywhere else they are the best team
The representative was efficient and gave us extra discounts due to gas below the return level.
Just needed to tell us more about what would happen if we went over the miles etc. Otherwise a very good and helpful transaction. Reps made sure we were comfortable in the truck.

online service sucked. my experience was a nightmare
I created a reservation on 7/9 for a truck and car carrier to be picked up at 09:00AM on 8/1. Then I received a text saying my rental would not be available until 3:00PM. (I had arrainged for friends to assist in loading) I called and spoke with two ladies who were not at all helpful, claiming I only reserved the truck the night before. On Sat. morning I stopped by to see if it could be picked up early and was told it might be ready by 1:00PM. I came back at 1:00 to find a long line, then after waiting I was told the wiring for the car trailer was broke. I still needed the truck and trailer so I accepted it, as they were going to look for a new wire. The mechanic on-site fixed the break in a few minutes. I aslo found out that the truck had been CHECKED IN ON FRIDAY ANS HAD BEEN SITTING THERE!!!! Yet I couldn't have it until 3:00 ???? This threw out the possibility of loading and driving to VA the same day! I feel that I was held up for a day and still had to pay for it !!!
Had to wait in line and took a while to get truck, but I guess it was just a busy time.
When we went to pick up our 15 foot rentral truck they had not truck the previous person never brought back, you need to have extra trucks for stand by. meanwhile after searching for a period of time, An another truck was brought in . The line was out the door by this time. Disappointed a manger never came out!
if a location doesn't have a vehicle available email them with them locations they are available. Also if one wasn't many would have taken an upgrade and paid for it. I would recommend you provide alternatives and upgrade options instead of just throwing out a location that 20 miles away from the original rental location. More would have appositive response toward UHaul if you did this. I am a CIC guy continued improvement person and this is what should be improvement upon or implemented to increase your viability and favorability. Other wise I had a good experience except for the issues I had above that required me to resolve or cancel.
Customer service is lacking, leaving long lines with sales agents being non-present many times for extended periods. Also, my rental contract did not reflect my online order. I opted for an alternate destination for truck drop-off, which afforded me a reduced rate and additional mileage allowance. The contract did not have the discounted rate and additional mileage allowance listed. The sales rep corrected the rate but not the mileage allowance.

Facility was clean, vehicles,well maintained and new. U haul employee was very slow and when moving and on a schedule it can be quite a burden.
Everyone was very friendly knowledgeable whenever I inquired about anything.
Should prorate storage space or at least let customers know that you do not prorate

Storage area flooded- some furniture, boxes, etc. covered in mildew. Manager did nothing but refer us to U-Haul`s insurance. Staff friendly - not fully helpful with problem of flooding.
I needed an extra ubox and uhaul got it for me on a sunday. I wad very impressed with their efforts.
This facility is one of the best and I have used uhaul since 1987.
The storage room I rented for over 6 years was well heated and lighted with very easy access anytime I wanted. I was totally satisfied.
Glad I was upstairs when the flood hit.
UBox was adequate for my needs. Would have liked a sturdier back door.
Plywood door seemed a bit rickety.

received an emailphone call notification after I personally found out they were here had been for 3 days. Although to try redeem themselves they let me empty the boxes inside instead of in the rain.
Everyone on the staff there was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make this easy and affordable.

The staff was always so helpful. I have been a customer for almost 4 years. I had to relocate my unit b/c I was paying too much. I found another facility that is charging me $46 for a nice size unit.
I was promised ground floor storage but there wasn`t any open. The first storage bin offered had oil in it. Employee Ryan was unhelpful. Was not happy I had to buy a lock.
There was a cust unloading, and I knew this cust was over his head. When I asked the following week, your desk person told me he helped him unload, and worked a pay-forgive deal. Anyone can call me.
The units don`t have lights inside and are hard to cart your belongings to.
The two U-Haul rep`s at different times that waited on me were helpful and understanding of my requirements. I set up a storage room rental and will be setting up a truck rental for next month.
the manager forgot to remove my name after I did clean up the storage on june 23rd.
The service was great and i hope that the new manager will maintain the facility`s good reputation.
Would have appreciated a light in the storage unit but over-all very positive experience and helpful staff. Thanks for everything.
