Everything on the pick-up and hook-up was excellent.
Nice to return unused boxes. The driver did not have any of the details regarding the type of property, parking arrangements or apartment complex security gate.
Treat the customer as if they are the one paying your salary. Oh wait.... They are. Rude and offensive, I almost walked out.

U-haul employee was still friendly and patient
The rental truck was very old and did not feel safe at highway speeds. The truck had over 160,000 miles on it. Also, the truck broke down at the gas station across the street from uhaul when trying to refuel the truck. I believe the alternator had gone bad as a jump from AAA gave us enough juice to drive across the street to the uhaul location. I'm not upset or angry, the customer service representatives were pleasant and helpful. However, isn't such an old vehicle a liability and likely to cause this type of issue for customers? Does uhaul have standard procedures for break downs beyond providing roadside assistance? I.e... sorry you were inconvenienced and here is a discount? Or credit towards a future rental? As I said, I'm not angry or upset. Mainly just disappointed with the experience.
Have the correct mileage in the beginning and the worker who tries to fix it should be able to copy the correct mileage.
The customer service could have been a little better. The owner was the one who helped us & he seemed annoyed to have to help us.
When somebody picks up rental, have it ready. My son looked for the rental out back of business and couldn't find it, asked a woman who was out back with another customer where it was, found it, but it was behind another rental truck which somebody had to come and move it so we could leave. Have rentals ready and out front for easy access.
Sandy did an awesome job. Kept me informed of delivery time. Stayed in Kalamazoo to allow box to be loaded. Second time using u- box and would definitely recommend.
Service isn't the fastest, but Saturdays I know are the busiest of days. A worker also was smoking in the garage area when I was in there.
I will never use Uhual again. Run around time and time again. I was given the wrong information, the wrong phone numbers and your call center is poorly trained. Never again, will I use Uhaul.
The service is very expensive $29.99 per day for the 6'x12' trailer it's too much.
Remind the customer that truck is longer and to allow for that when turning corners. Help to adjust mirrors.

Fix your trucks properly before renting them out.
When I went to pick up the equipment, it wasn't clear if there was a line to be seen inside the office. Some signage would help.
Then, I also was a little unsure about how to approach the employees sitting at the desk. One line was for U-Pack while the other was busy on the phone with a different customer? I couldn't tell who I should be approaching and who I shouldn't be. It wasn't a bad experience - I waited patiently and was seen in a timely fashion - just was a bit unclear having not used U-Haul before but made my appointment online.
That said, once I was seen, the experience was professional and nice.

I have used this location since 1999. We are a military family, who in previous years has moved a lot. We have always made family go there as well because they have exactly what you need, when you need it and the best price. They have always shown appreciation for my husband's service in the military and being in emergency services. I have made reservations with other companies and each time have had to cancel because they always had better for me. I also had a bad experience with getting a quote over the phone with what I was looking for and the Rep just ignored my requests, but the Alpine Uhaul location turned it around as usual and made it right. Thank you for proving good customer service exists, and listening and taking care of my concerns. You once again have kept a loyal customer.

I had to wait and then go into the store when returning the truck. Store seemed understaffed.
The gas tank wasn't actually returned on full, so I had to put more gas in the tank than I used.
The motorcycle trailer worked perfectly for me to bring my moped to college; even threw my bicycle on there. Thank you for having very reasonable prices, helps cut down moving expenses, I'll be back when its time to bring the moped and bike back home for the winter!
waited awhile before being waited on. The truck had a power aid bottle and papers in it. Hard not to miss if they had cleaned it.
Tie down rails could be stronger for heavier items

Counter Guys went above and beyond. Vary helpful
The left rear tire on the car haul trailer blew out while going 45 MPH in a rain. I had to have the failed tire along with 2 dry rotted tires replaced on this UHAUL trailer. I had a $40,000 Mustang Bullitt on this trailer. I was delayed for 3 hours. I want a refund. If this trailer flipped or caused an accident UHAUL would have been held responsible. This trailer should have been maintained. The tires were unsafe. If it wasn't for the mechanic who did the road side service I would have got back on the road with two tires that were ready to fail like the one that blew. The only reason he did not replace all 4 tires is that the right rear tire was new. Apparently that tire failed with someone else who rented the trailer before me. (Check your records.) I want some one to call me
The van I rented to transport wooden antique furniture leaked through the back door seal, on to the furniture and all over the floor of the van. When this was pointed out to the store manager on the van's returned, he didn't even apologize, ask if anything was damaged, or even offer to reduce the charges. he just flat out didn't give a damn.
The guy working there was incredibly helpful.
Unfortunately, i was sent to the Grandville pick-up location and then told the trailer was not there but at the Alpine location, and lost a half hour driving around
Very easy - except dropping off after hours was a little confusing (I had a hard time finding the drop box area for the contract). Besides that, it was a great experience!

Truck was smelly with cigratee
Equipment pickup went smoothly. The truck performed well although 8 mpg is abysmal for a truck that wasn't that big nor fully loaded. The return process took WAY TOO LONG. It was 20 minutes before anyone could check me in. The staff was pleasant but clearly this location was understaffed for the number of returns that should be easily expected at 4pm on a Saturday.
Driver's window didn't seal and whistled continuously.
i had an issue after loading the truck. I couldn't get the speed up to 50 mph on a level road, then the rpm went to 4000 and then a light went on and it started beeping. I pulled off the freeway and called for assistance. I got none. They couldn't send anyone out to me. After the roadside assistance operator called back 3-4 times I was told the problem was the windshield washer fluid. This was not the case. It had plenty of fluid. I finally determined that it was low on transmission fluid. After adding 3 qt. it ran ok. But this issue set me back 1 and a half hours.
The employees worked very hard and seemed understaffed for this very busy location. I would use this location again.
Rent what the customer needs not what costs more. Very poor customer relations. Needed a cargo van, only 8 in the lot, would only rent me a 15 foot box truck. More cost more fuel.
My moving experience was excellent thanks to U-Haul, the rental was streamline and easy.. we will be back for sure.
The person who checked me out was awesome but he was the only person working the front counter. It would be great to have more staff to check customers out.
Everything went well for me. If the next customer is treated the way I was then he will have nothing to complain about.
I reserved a motorcycle trailer to trailer my motorcycle from Michigan to Denver to attend the 2015 Sturgis rally. I went to the location 1 week before my departure to ensure that the beautiful shiny trailer that was on the lot would be available and they said yes. When I returned to pick up the trailer I found an orange POS trailer with Texas license plates. The trailer looked like it wouldn't make it to my house let alone across the country. I ask the attendant to check other locations for another trailer but none were available. they told me I could rent a bigger trailer to cart across the country for additional money. With no options available and a vacation already paid for and planned I "had" to take the trailer. At the first gas stop I found that the lift gate was barely attached with cracks in the frame holding to the trailer. this caused the gate to wobble back and forth and damaged the chrome luggage rack on my Harley. I will be filing an insurance claim to have this repaired. The worse Uhaul experience of my life!
There was only one person working. I had to wait a while to get checked in.
Sandy and the staff at Alpine Uhaul were friendly and helpful. I will be recommending them to anyone who needs moving and storage services!
I have lived in the area for 35 years and have had several bad experiences at this location. Today there is a new manager and the service was great and the equipment was in excellent condition I will use this location again
Let them know that there is not a radio in the trucks.

The call center did not tell me that I couldn't pay cash for the cargo van so I didn't find out until I went to pick it up that I would need a $100 deposit...the worker apologized and said the call center does this all of the time and they do not have good communication. The owner really needs to figure the call center out because the workers are getting the blunt end of it.
No suggestions. The location provided what I needed, and the transaction went smoothly.
The manager was nice and did what he could, but we didn't get our truck until 3 hours after the scheduled time. The person before us just decided to keep the truck longer and made our move that more difficult. Plus it's not easy to get a direct call to the location, you have to go to an automated service.
The truck was late in getting back and your employee Josh instead of saying the trucks late but as soon as it arrives if I'm with someone I'll finish up with them and then will get you out of here. All he would say is "it is not my fault that the truck is not in on time.. Only having two employees at the facility on a Friday night is ridiculous. I will not be back to rent at uhaul again.
The location was great. The Back office was terrible. The guy's I person were fine

they charged me for two rentals when i only took out one and they charged me twice. They said they would fix it and a manager would call back and I have called twice And no manager has called me back.

Great, cheaper option than most other shipping based moving options.
They were dishonest about the fuel being full at time of rental! I only drove the truck 40 miles and had to put 20 gallons of gas back in upon return.
If you do the math, thats 2mi/gal! Horrible!!
Next time, I'll demand to have the fuel tank checked and filled prior to leaving the locatin.
Probably go with a different rental company next time.
Check-in and out was slow. Need additional person at counter.
The truck was not in good working order. When I complained upon returning I was charged another day for being 45 mins past the due time. (I waited 25 mins to be checked in). Not a very nice way to treat a repeat business customer after giving me a crappy truck that was not working properly and was dirty when I picked it up.
Drop-off was easy. However, we explained our poor experience and all he did was give us the phone number for insurance.
Fuel tank was not full.
The brake lights on the tow dolly were inop.

The computer used to check out my truck was painfully slow. Updating the hardware/software used by employees at checkout would go a long way to streamlining the process.
The process was very easy checking out the vehicle and checking it back in. The gentlemen at the counter were very professional and answered all of my questions regarding the rental process and the van.
Great service, great truck. Very accommodating staff.
Way too many emails, making it extremely difficult to find the relevant information when looking back at them.
One problem: the location sold me tie-down straps that would not hook onto the rails in the truck they rented to me. The rails in the truck were so close to the truck walls, and so thick, only a few of the tie-down straps I owned were capable of hooking into the rails. I was forced to disassemble the straps and just tie things down with knots, which was nerve-wracking.
I was very impressed with the location and the service. Ryan answered all my questions and was very polite. This was by far the best experience I have ever had with UHaul.
Front headlight was out, love the fuel economy gauge though.
Ratchets on trailer were so dry I had to struggle with them to operate correctly

I was originally scheduled to pick up the truck at the Plainfield location, so I went there first before learning that the location had changed, which took up about a half hour of my time. I did receive a call the day before, but even though he mentioned his location, the call was mostly inquiring about the pick-up time, and it wasn't made clear that there had been an actual change to my reservation.
In the future an e-mail with big bold letters on top saying that there had been a "RESERVATION CHANGE" would have been very helpful.
Also, I was checked out with a half tank, while the needle read acutally slightly below. In the future I would prefer a truck with a full tank, to avoid spending $3+ per gallon here-or-there with having to estimate the fuel level while fueling. Even a 4 or 5 gallon guesstimate would cost me $15 more dollars... and that's not nothing.

No dolly in 26 ft truck.
No furniture pads available at store or on truck.
Maybe consider strapping these in like in the smaller trucks.

Employee came out to meet us when we pulled in. Very fast process.
We made an over-the-phone reservation for May 26 -- come to find out, only a week previous to drop-off, that the date had been entered as the 27th and that the person who made the reservation had put down we would be picking it up. After numerous calls, we were finally able to get our box on the date intended, but not without being talked to as if this situation were our fault, and not without hours spent on the phone with regional and corporate customer service people. When these reps said they'd call back, they didn't. Incredibly frustrating and I will never use U-Haul again.
The entire process is poorly defined by Uhaul. Delivery and storage charges are higher than Podz. But I cannot say enough about the location staff and the help they provided to me. Give them a raise!

We had very serious issues with the initial pick-up of the box in New Hampshire. Overall, it was a huge time sink and extremely frustrating experience.
I hate moving, but with Uhaul, I had a great experience every step of the way. The employees were nice and accomadating. Uhaul took good care of my belongings. I appreciate all that you did.

The system for using U-Box is very confusing. The staff are not sure how to help you if you have issues and this causes me to not recommend the service.

The staff at the Alpine U-Haul was extremely helpful. We researched other companies and U-Haul had the best price and the most locations. We are very happy with U-haul and the U-box.
Kim was so helpful.Always called to let me know what was happening. She picked up the boxes and said to give them 12 days to reach the new destination. I got notified 2 days later they`d arrived!
Difficult to track boxes and would pay for more specific delivery dates earlier in the process.

We were very pleased with our U-Box rental at the Walker, Michigan location very helpful staff.
Very helpful in our move to Holland Mi. We would recommend a u box for anyone moving and doesn`t want to drive a uhaul truck. A little pricey but worth the convience

Kim transformed an earlier experience with a different UHaul location in Grand Rapids, and made it very positive with her personal experience and cheerful, prompt and communicative professionalism.
I visited the originating store to pay the balance of my account and found that only the originator of the contract Kim could access the account to accept payment.

Physically closing doors was difficult. Doors were out of alignment. Metal securing latch was hard to close didn`t lay flat. This limited what locks could fit through the remaining opening.
Kim was great to work with, she did everything she could to help. Slightly disappoint the lack of flexibility, as she is the only one that can drive, unlike going with Pods.
when i went in on the weekends they staff was not knowledgeable at all. they did not know anything that could help me. Despite this, it was a very painless procedure and i would use it again
Excellent service, drivers went above and beyond to assist us with our move. Pods were delivered on time arrived early to their destination more than a 1000 miles away.
U-haul did not deliver on time, my wife and I got stranded without our stuff for a week.
Basically clean, but after transportation the lock was broken off.The service was absolutely atrocious.Trying to call the location itself to communicate is near impossible.

Rec`d email on 10th day. Supposed to take 11 from initial pick up to drop off in MI. email stated would hear from MI store in 24 hrs. It took 32 hours. Drop off was still 3 days after that.
The staff at both ends of my move were WONDERFUL. I was quite impressed that there were women in charge of the u boxes at both ends. Good job Uhaul!

Overall reservation very arduous. Too many reps didn`t have complete info about my reservation, couldn`t track my box, put me on hold for long periods. Box delivered and picked up later than scheduled

It worked wonderfully during my renovation which was delayed by some medical issues. Unfortunately the city received a complaint and I had to have it picked up earlier than I expected.

The woman who delivered my unit not only explained how it would be handled, but
was expert in placing the box exactly in the best position for us to load it.
The lady that brought and picked up the boxes was friendly, helpful, and accessible. She even gave us her cell phone number, and called when she was about to come get the boxes.
There were several problems with the computer not accepting credit card information but that was finally resolved on the forth try.
Staff has been very delightful. thank you, thank you. appreciate everything that has been done.
Overall a good experience on delivery and initial pick-up, but delivery to the final location is not prompt. This part of the process needs drastic improvement.

Kim was very pleasant and helpful! The U boxes are great. The only issue was that we didn`t know we had to have our own locks on them and that the insurance amount was per box.

Would have preferred the option to purchase a lock from them, the one I got at the store wouldn`t fit the latch, had to buy a second one.
