Horrible customer service. We were first there when then opened and a gentleman in a truck with a trailer came in behind us and pulled around in front of us. The employee saw it and came to our car and said that even though we were first, because that truck pulled around in front of us he was "going to go ahead and check him out first". It took forever and my husband was late to work. I will NEVER rent equipment from this facility ever again and I have informed several people of our bad experience.
Customer service....non existent. They never called to confirm my pickup as stated in my confirmation email. So i called them. They informed me the truck should be ready around 10 but it depended on when it was dropped off. I asked if they could just call me when it was ready and the guy on the phone said well it's gonna be pretty busy so I don't think we will have time.....Really? To make a 1 minute phone call. Ok great. So then I arrive. 2 guys in the store talking and a third out front smoking a cigarette. I was thrilled to receive a truck with less than half a tank for my 400 mile trip. Oh and when I got home the dolly and furniture pads I had requested and paid for were not in the truck. I guess between bull shutting and smoking cigarettes they didn't have time for that either. Probably the worst customer service experience of my life and I'm not a dramatic person. I guess that's what happens when minimum wage meets not giving a shit. Thanks u haul. I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere next time.

At the time I went to pick the truck up, there was a few other customers there waiting but the employees were efficient, friendly and helpful. I've been to a lot of uhaul locations and this experience was definitely the best.
$1.09 @ mile is a bit step
From our first meeting with Chris this morning to dropping off the trailer with Collin, it was a very positive experience! Chris was literally running the whole operation himself this morning and juggling three customers at one time -- all with a smile on his face, and jogging from one side of the lot to the other! Collin was very courteous and came right out when we drove up with the trailer. He did a post-drop off examination and then told us our total (which was the same total that Chris had told us!). It was encouraging and very helpful that both men were punctual, efficient and customer oriented and used wonderful manners! We definitely will come back again! Thank you!
I could have used a larger truck so the recommendations for truck sizes should probably be increased.
With the exception of the speedometer, none of the gauges on the dashboard worked when the lights were on. Also, when I picked up the paperwork in the store, it said the truck had 3/4 of a tank of fuel. However, the gauge (with the lights off) reflected 1/2 tank. The person checking out the vehicle notated that (and I took a picture with the odometer and fuel gauge in case I needed proof). On a positive note, I loved the fact that I could return the truck after hours and not have to deal with it the next morning.
Chris is amazing. It was very crowded and he did an amazing job helping multiple customers at once!
The office manager is the best multi tasker i have seen in a long time at the Rancho Cordova location.
Brett (Brent? ....sorry) took great care of making sure I had the right equipment for my move. Really appreciate the extra effort. Move went much easier as a result.

Some gentle reminders re: how to startup or shutdown the engine, music, lights etc for non-experience drivers might be benefit to both U-Haul and Pick-up Renters.
Everything went smooth and I was very impressed. I have to say though this location was short staff...I had to wait a bit when I went to pick it up and drop it off. Poor guys were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Very nice staff. Thanks and I would definitely recommend this uhaul spot to anyone.
I have been a return customer for years and have been treated very well! I will be using them again.
Off site assistance, out of gas, Barrera jumps, possibly a service truck with a minimal or no fee charge. At location, definitely, lower gas fees. Prices are astronomical, way to high.

Did not see the convertible top issue until the Manager pointed it out. It is not easily seen on the web site and I think it should be a prompt when selecting the vehicle. Everything else was good.
Price per mile is too high.
They did not inform me that I would have a Freee Month of Storage a tthe time I dropped off the trailer and could have unloaded the truck
I reserved a trailer to tow a car and upon my arrival the people there were awesome. They got right on my order and I was on my way in just a few minutes.Great job!
When I made my reservation I was suppose to pick the truck up at 3531 sunrise blvd but the person that takes care of U haul rentals did not come to work and I ended waiting 2 hours before going to another location.
Chris and his team are really attentive and professional, an extremely well run operation. Chris, the General Manager, even called me back after my phone dropped our call, without leaving my call back number or my name. They were very busy when I went to pick up my equipment, yet responded not only to me but everyone waiting in an very efficient and courteous manner. The staff got the trailer ready and hooked up right away and made sure it was safely and securely attached to my vehicle. The whole process was very well organized and professionally completed, the return was effortless and quick, too. (They also have a well stocked and neatly organized office of moving and storage material and equipment). Even if I need moving equipment and assistance in a different location in the Sacramento area, I am definitely coming back here,. They make it so easy it's totally worth the extra time to use their services.

Chris was outstanding. Answered every question and even gave directions to the U-haul location.
Didn't have the size I confirmed. "The extra 4 feet won't make a difference". Well it did! Had to make two trips, tripled the mileage charge.
Then because of the two trips I wasn't going to be able to return it on time and got all kinds of hassle. " there's someone sitting here waiting for that truck". When I finally got there, after essentially dumping everything on the ground there were more than ten trucks in the parking lot.
Whole load of crap that stressed me out unnecessarily, took extra hours on a 90+ degree day and made me pay more than double for both truck and helpers. HORRIBLE!!!
Improve customer service, I waited over 5 minutes before I was acknowledged and there was no other customers there.

Chris was awesome, very fast and efficient. We did have some issues with the truck. A/C did not work on the max position. There were some other small issues, Chris noted on tag. Over all experience from Charlotte (thank you) all the way to Chris (thank you).
We had reserved a Uhaul online for pick up from a different location. when Uhaul redirected our request to this site, a representative from this location contacted us to confirm that this would work for us. It was further away than I would have preferred but the customer service at this site was excellent and the truck was waiting for us when we arrived. This is a well organized and professionally staffed location. I would definitely recommend it!
We have rented 2 different trucks in the last few days and the staff was so awesome we felt like they were family. Every employee worked in concert providing a continuity of customer care. They are all fast efficient caring and patient. I will rent again ant tell others to give there business to this same uhaul. Overall a positive memorable experience.
I had a reservation for 1:15 and arrived at about 1:10 but there was only one person at the counter so I wasn't helped until 1:30 and didn't leave until 1:45.
1. The pre-inspection consisted of only the gas level and noting of dings. The post-inspection was thorough, tires, lights, wipers, etc., etc. That tells me that any issue found in the post would have been charged to me, even thought we didn't know if it was already an issue.
2. I had called my insurance company prior to calling to reserve the truck. I relayed to your staff that I was insured as long as the truck was < 12,000 pounds. He felt it probably was, which is why we went for the smaller of the two trucks at the $29,95 rate. Therefore, I needed no insurance. I reserved the truck in my husband's name because he would drive. When he picked it up, your staff said he MUST take out insurance. So, we were charged for something we did not need and I want the money refunded.
3. Your staff talked so fast my husband had no idea what he said. Hope is wasn't important. Customer service staff need to be aware they are speaking to the public.
My husband said he would not use your location again, nor recommend it to anyone else.
The windows were so dirty, inside and out, we had to stop, buy supplies and wash them. The truck ran good, but couldn't adjust mirrors. Upon return was told the check out person should have adjusted them. It takes an allen wrench. Had to argue about the mileage, because the odometer was 100 miles too many. Luckly I caught it before leaving the site. Go early, it takes about an hour to check out even though there were 3 people working. It was a Friday, glad it wasn't a Sat.
The staff and management were outstanding with everything in connection with resolving all matters concerning the rental. I am especially pleased and impressed with the timely return of my phone calls and the management 's ability to expeditiously resolve the issue! I remain a loyal customer for life!!!!
With Chris as mgr, there is nothing you could do to improve customer service. His courtesy, knowledge and attitude blew me away. He should be running the entire uhaul organization. Hands down the best renting experience I've ever had.
I believed this U Haul is a well oiled machine!! The manager Chris runs a tight ship great with customer service and he and his crew are very well organized

Trailer hitch fiasco.
Bought a hitch. No bolts took it to Wichita. They were supposed to have a hitch. It arrived Monday. I needed it Saturday. They were able to get it in by the end of the day. 5 hrs later
Location appeared to be short handed - after waiting for about 20 minutes, I located the correct size trailer, connected it to my hitch and made the trailer hookups myself.
The gas wasn't in the computer properly. he attendant said that it would be reflected properly for the drop off location. IT WAS NOT. Which has caused a problem for me. Also the truck had almost no A/C and a transmission that was slipping. It also got just over 7 miles to the gallon which is crazy. I went 39 miles and had to put $19 into the tank. Service your fucking vehicles and stop raping you customer base.
to have more customer service oriented employees working for you, the service was terrible, the manners of the kid helping was below par, i think he meant well but he was not consistent with his manners, i feel you need more help, this kid was running around like chicken with his head cut off.
The location was great but I made the reservation to pick up the truck at a el dorado hills location but was instructed later I had to pick up the truck at a rancho Cordova location. during the confirmation call I inquired about a larger truck but was told that none were available. I later realized that was because the location only rents the big trucks out if they are being returned to the same location. I ended up having to make two trips to complete my move. In the end I ended up returning the truck to the same location because I had to pick up the truck in rancho which was the half way point and my car was there. If I knew that a bigger truck would have been available to me if I returned it to the same location I could have made that call when booking and saved my self the second trip. I'm sure this is an unofficial policy because locations don't want to lose the big trucks when they have it reserved at a later time but it did cause me to make two trips. So to improve things for the next customer give them all options when calling to confirm and or don't allow locations to hold the big trucks for only the customers that are returning to the same location.
All of the staff were working hard even when it was busy. Everyone was very professional and helpful. Pleasant experience.
Very professional. Manager very pleasant. Took time to explain the billing, etc. It had been many years since I needed your product, so it was a good experience.
Chris is very efficient, polite, respectful of customers time, explains the contract thoroughly, etc. I cannot imagine what could be done to improve the service.
Do not charge for both mileage and gas. One or the other is more straight forward. You guys advertise "19.95 per day" on every truck you own. Ill be blogging about how it actually costs 70 per day.

The vehicle windows were so dirty I had to ask for them to be cleaned. The attendant said he wasn't the one who checked in the vehicle and grudgingly cleaned the front window. The side windows and mirrors were also extremely dirty but he didn't clean them. I cleaned them myself when I got home. This was a driving safety issue... U Haul should take steps to ensure windows are properly clean.

Return check in was badly backed up at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon - appeared location may have been somewhat understaffed.
it always takes 20-30 min just to get thru the paper work and maybe another 10-15 min to get out. It's too slow. There should be self help kiosks or something to speed that up. Also for regular customers, there should be a pre-approved express checkout.
The staff was very nice. I had an ongoing project that required many extensions. They were proactive and helpful in making this easy for me.
The customer service from the whole crew was excellent. Chris and all of the staff ( I interacted with 4 of the staff, Chris included) did a great job of handling my check in and out. Although staff was spread thin working with a number of clients, they handled it well.

I think that the employee that helped me (Anthony) was very professional and explained the whole process with knowledge and detail. It was very quick. He made this experience a pleasant one.
The truck was worn out but more than adequate.
The truck was very old and in poor condition.
The lock on the cargo was missing.
I had already selected a location that was convenient to my needs and was told to go to a more distant location to pick up which ended up costing a lot of time. On a previous rental I was similarly told to return to a VERY out of the way location when there is one less than a mile from my destination

I should have never had to use this location. If Uhaul hadn't messed up my reservation, I would have had a location closer then 30 MINUTES to my home I was moving from. The guy at the desk was nice and helpful but there was no reason I should have had to drive that far to experience good customer service from this company.

It sounds like the good looking and over caffinated woman who helped me get the trailer is leaving. You should do your best to keep her. She vastly helps the appearance of your location.
Wash the vehicle and the windows
Be more clear when the rental reservation is made when the truck will have to be returned. We said we needed the truck for 6 hours but when we picked the truck up at 7am were told it had to be back by 12noon. Made the move much more difficult. However, the staff at the uhual storage facility have been most helpful.
staff another employee in the office to answer telephone calls as the one gentlemen who help me was overwhelmed by phone calls in the fifteen or twenty minutes while I was in the office area and I had an express check-out.
Reserved a 20ft truck. They didn't have one. Thought they were doing is a favor by giving us the only one they had available- a 26 ft. Started driving it home and it was shaking not uncontrollably. Had to call roadside assistance. Delayed our 500 mile move and was very inconvenient. Manager was also not professional. He said to us rudely, "and how long did you have to wait?" When we asked me what he could do for us due to the inconvenience of the entire situation. He didn't want to do anything for us. He comped some pads and covers an the appliance dolly. Wow.
The location seemed somewhat understaffed early in the day leading to a bit of a delay in getting our rental when we arrived. But overall the experience was fine.
The problem I had, had nothing to do with the location we ended at. The problem is that I could not find the trailer or truck at the location near us, so he told me to go on line and they would find one. I did that and order the trailer, got the confirmation and went to pick up the trailer at the location they gave me to find out they do not carry trailer, on trucks. So now I called your 800 number and they said sorry and you should of got a text telling me it was at another location, NEVER GOT A TEXT. So you got me driving all over to pick up a trailer. If there was another company that had a trailer near by, I gone there to get it. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER

I researved a trailer in Woodland for a local move at 9 AM . 2 days before the move I received an email stating my pickup location had changed to another Woodland location but pickup was 12. I called to try and get an earlier pickup and they said they dont have any trailers anyway. I called uhaul traffic and asked them, they said a reservation and conformation email were not guarentees. He said if I wanted a trailer I would have to drive to Rancho Cordova to get it. He was also rude and kept cutting me off. So in Sunday traffic I drove 1.5 hours each way to pick up and return the trailer. So 6 hours of wasted time in traffic and gas. When I got to the location they said they did not have a trailer for me. They did have a local open trailer for me to use. So after all the driving I now had to move everthing in an open trailer meaning it could not be stacked as high and everything had to be tied on. Needless to say I am not a happy customer. I could not complete the move because of all the problems. I had to rent a trailer in Vacaville after a 1030 return on Tuesday to complete the move. So now I have to take a day off work plus drive again. I do not feel I should have to pay for either trailer because I spent more on gas than the rental cost.
I asked for another day, but I was told that the truck was scheduled for rental that day. The truck was due back by noon on 8-30-15. The person on the phone told me that I could have it until 2:30 pm. for a cost. When asked I was told the extra 2hrs would cost me a days rate. Uhaul policy, I would have paid a pro-rated rent. But I wasn't going to pay for another day when I would only be able to use the truck for 2 hours. After returning the truck my receipt was sent to my e-mail where I couldn't open it because of the format. I can't open the slideshow, or a zip file, and don't have cloud storage. Would have been able to open a PDF. Now I have to see if the rental yard can print me a copy.
the staff was INCREDIBLE!!!! we had an absolutely TERRIBLE experience with the uhaul in roseville called "roseville market" on pfe, the guy cancelled our reservation, we were in there at 6:50 in the morning and we had to squirm to find a rental before 9, the rancho cordova staff were accomodating and did a lot for us, i am extremely pleased and would highly recommend them, even though they are a lot further from us!!!!
Manager made me go to different location to pick up truck. The truck I booked was not available so they had to upgrade the truck. After asking for the money back for the difference in miles I had to drive to the different location, the manager made it seem like he was already doing me a favor by giving me a bigger truck, but it was there own fault the truck I had reserved was not available. The manager told me he would get fired for giving me my money back for the difference in miles, but when I dropped off the truck he gave me my money back. and then they tried making me bring the truck back by 12pm even though I rented it until 5pm. They called me and told me I would be charged $50 for not having it back by 12, even though I had paid until 5pm. Very poor customer service and no concern for people's time.
Brett I believe his name was...was helping us who was there first and then other people that arrived after us at the same time. We ended up finishing after the other people already left. We left and got to our destination and the appliance dolly was not in the back of the trailer as stated and paid for on the receipt. I called he said to come back and get it. We had to drive 30 minutes back to get the appliance dolly for the fridge we were buying. After we left we went back to our destination. 30 min to the place...30 min back to uhaul and then another 30 min back to the place with 3 children.
When we dropped off the trailer today we asked if we could get a discount or comped for our time and problems they caused.
Brett said no. So this is why the poor rating. I was told 3 different amounts too. I will be monitoring my bank to make sure I am not over charged.
More clearly disclose that there is a fee for U-Haul personnel to hook up the tow dolly.
Staff up for the weekends. One guy ran three computers while staff ran frantically to get equipment.

This was the second location first location failed to deliver as promised. Called 800 # found one 60 miles away no choice needed it. People there where great

Tires on my AT car transporter were new, but under inflated. I suspect that was the reason for the blowout I experienced down the road. Pressures should have been in the mid-40s, yet one of the remaining tires was at 33 psi.
this location is so far away from residential housing that we had to use 10 miles just to get and return the truck
There was a 45 minute wait to get a trailer. There was not enough staff on hand at 7:00 am on a Saturday. The manager walked in at 7:45 when I was pulling out. 2 guys were literally running all over the yard and in and out to serve the 8 customers that were there when I was there.
I would have given this location a rating of excellent if it wasn't for the guy at the front desk. He was extremely rude and condescending. He kept interrupting our transaction to help the men that walked in the door. I believe his name is Chris. The checkout took much longer than necessary.
The employee I checked out with was stressed out and there seemed to be a lack of teamwork. Not a pleasant environment to walk into.

I waited in line for a hour. Only one guy was working the counter and he wasnt very friendly half the time. He would make smart ass comments towards people. After waiting for a hour in line, it took 15 minutes to get everything done. It took another 15 minutes to get a trailer, in which some one who was 3 people behind me got his trailer before me. It took a hour and a half to get the trailer and was returned a hour later in which, i believe i should have gotten a refund of the hours i didn't use. I got to u hual at 8:45am and didn't get out of there til 10:15am. This is rediculous.
I have used this location twice over the years when I have lived in the vicinity. This is a large location and they have everything! The people who work here are very friendly and helpful.
The checkout was smooth and easy. Everything went well. It is so much nicer to check out a truck that is full of gas--then you just have to top it off when you return.The check-in was very smooth also. These guys do a great job!
Make the X marks more detail spotted one that should have been marked bit wasn't seen until we got to the store and it was pointed out to us buy someone that was getting ready to help us load the truck.
We had said that if anything happens we would be responsible and if they damaged they were responsible

This was a busy day, both when I picked up and dropped the truck. No location could reasonably staff for that kind of surge. The people kept their cool despite the hectic pace.
The person behind the counter was a very good employee. Samantha was great at checking my vehicle out but the other outside employee that was suppose to check me out was horrible skipped my checkout and helped two other people even after me asking why I was not being helped that is why Samantha ended up helping me and she was absolutely awesome.
The young man that checked us in was very kind and professional. I was really pleased by how easy and effortless the whole transaction was.
We rent from this location all the time and have always had above and beyond great service. It's a pleasure doing business with this location!! Every employee knows what they are doing and does it in a quick, but friendly manner. I always walk away saying WOW! Thank you and keep up the incredible service...its appreciated!

The guys did an outstanding job. My use of the pickup truck and car hauler went very smoothly. I would recommend that you not charge such an exorbitant amount for gas so customers could pay you for the gas. filling up at a gas station with a trailer is not a good experience.
I had made a reservation the day before and was able to change to an earlier time the morning of my original time. The truck was ready and clean in the morning. All went well!
Team did a great job, I was in and rented in just a few minutes and when I returned it was easy and quick. I will be using this facility for all my moving needs in the future.

Great service from the two guys working. Don't recall their name but they hustled and worked hard to get me hooked up and on the road.
A little disorganized. The girl behind the counter insisted they did not have a trailer for me on site even though her inventory showed she did. One of the guys eventually intervened and pointed out it had been released from maintenance. Otherwise the equipment was great and the workers friendly and courteous. My second use of this site and I would go back again.
The team members were a little on the un-professional side in the way they deal with one another. Though we all like to have fun at work, the level was a little on edge. This is probably due to the young age of the staff.

This location has made a radical improvement during the last few years. It used to be a total disaster. I've been doing business with this location for over 20 years. Nice job turning things around!
I had booked my rental for a one day rental, and was only able to use the truck for 16 hours, the only other option for a one day was a much, much smaller truck that would have forced me to make more trips, and pay more in mileage. I will avoid renting from Uhaul in the future, and will let all my friend, family and co-workers know of the poor and shady service.
Chris who assisted us in picking up the truck was EXCELLENT! I have never seen someone juggle so many task in such a professional way. He was taking multiple phone calls, assisting more than one customer and doing all of this at the same time with a smile.

I drove a total of fifteen miles in the cargo van I rented. When I refilled the gas tank I put in four gallons. So, either your van gets less than four miles a gallon or I got a van that was less than full. I'm not happy about that.
Rental was hassle free and the team did a great job.
Staff and management were helpful with our return of truck and tow trailer. We have rented here before and would recommend this location again.
We called at last minute and not only did they have a truck available but they were extremely polite and efficient. The staff made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We will definitely be using this location when we need a truck again.
