Your central answering/booking person ( not in the Windmill Rd site) was not knowledgeable or helpful. It took several attempts to get him to understand what I wanted and, since he wasn't local, he couldn't reassure me of the exact location of your dealership in Dartmouth ( near the biggest landmark in the city: the MacKay Bridge).

it is really important that when a customer cancels their empty storage lockers and returns cards etc, and notifies everyone, that the customer no longer receive any notifiers of billing - because billing should stop when we've moved out.

They are excellent!!!!! They have the highest ethics when it comes to moving the furniture with CARE!! They measured everything and discussed the safest methods to move them through tricky parts of the house. I couldn't believe it, and was so happy to have them move my furniture, would recommend it to all my friends and anyone that need moving help. I would hire them several times. HIRE them and see for yourselves!

Extremely easy to book and rent online. Very friendly and efficient staff in person. Very affordable too! Only constructive comment would be that there was a shortage of client parking spots. Overall an excellent experience and would now always think of renting first when any moving or hauling needs come up.

Provide the requested equipment. I did not order a 14' truck three months ahead for the hell of it. We ordered that size due to safety concerns and did not see the 20' truck + discount as an 'upgrade'. We were incredibly stressed the entire drive and used more gas than we expected, incurring additional moving costs.

When I had rented the Uhaul, I didn't need a 26' cube truck, I only needed a 10' or 14'. I was given that because there was nothing else available. Due to the high cost in gas, I had to pay $175 in gas for a 3.5-4 hour drive. When asked if I could get a discount on the rental to make up for the difference of gas, I was told no. My move costed way more than I had hoped and now I am left hurting for a while because I wasn't expecting to pay so much for a one way truck (gasoline).

The location was very busy. Although much business is good, the site was not able to properly handle the abundance of equipment or the customers trying to navigate the property. I recommend re-locating to an area that can handle the vast amount of equipment, such as an industrial park.

had a cube van booked for our big move of 500km for a sunday, got a call at 4:45pm from you guys canceling my reservation. uhaul ruined everything! we didnt have our stuff out in time to get our carpets cleaned so we lost our damage, had to get a guy off of kijiji to help & we had to leave 25% of our stuff. i will never call uhaul again, discount will be my new moving company

I booked for pickup of a trailer at 12 and ha to have it back by 6 yet paid for a full day. I would have thought the rental was for 24 hours instead of by calender day. Paying the same rate if I picked it up at 7 am as I would if I got it at 6 pm isn't right

I will never ever do business with UHAul again. We were double-billed, not confirmed as insured, suffered price changes, were notified of arrival when they weren't there causing a wasted 350 km round trip, then they were missing, turned up next day, left overnight in the arrival yard, opened seal before I arrived when my truckers were there, rudeness at arrival point and confusion. Arrived and billed too soon. This was an absolutely horrible nerve-wracking move, thanks to Uhaul. Ruined our expensive two-week "care-free" stay in a holiday suite, with worry and anxiety.

Mileage estimate was off by a factor of 2. Instead of paying roughly $200 I ended up paying $400. I clearly stated my destination. I was quoted 150m which equates to roughly 240km and ONE HALF the actual distance (one way of my trip, to Mt Allison University in Sackville NB from the U-Haul in Dartmouth NS and back.). Of course I should have checked myself, but these folks need to improve their accuracy. The customer in line in front of me was fuming due to the very same error. I didnt mind as fact are facts wrt to distance driven, but I would have preferred better disclosure. Other than that very very top notch professional service. They are employees that seem to want to ensure the customer is well looked after and are good reps for U-Haul!! With a more accurate cost estimate, they would have easily received an excellent rating or higher if available.

the brakes in the truck were scary. when the peddle was pressed, the steering wheel would shake left to right. unsettling at 75 km/hr. not typical of trucks I havery rented from there before.

Good day, Please allow me the opportunity to describe my U-Haul experience with the Windmill road, Dartmouth NS Staff, yesterday evening, Tuesday 2 Sept 2014. Yesterday evening my wife and I rented a F150 truck to simply drive to COSTCO at Dartmouth Crossing, pick up an item and bring it home to Cole Harbour and then return the truck before the 7pm closing time. The young lady looking after us printed out the contract of which I signed with the level of fuel shown as ¾ tank. The lady then took us out to the truck for the intial check and since no one else was available she started up the truck. Seconds later she hopped out stating something about the fuel gauge shows 7/8 full not ¾ and said she was going to pen in the change on the contract (I did not sign to agree with this amend). Seconds later I was in the truck and on my way to Costco, the time being about 5:15pm. During my ongoing seat and mirror adjustments I noticed that the fuel gauge was showing ¾ tank not the 7/8 tank the young lady had stated. None the less I was on a mission and decided I would address that once I returned the truck. Once I offloaded an item in Cole Harbour I hit the road to return the truck. I stopped to add gas about 5km from the U-haul depot and decided to adjust the fuel gauge to the 7/8 mark only because I did not want to spend a great deal of time arguing with staff. Too my dismay it cost over $20 in fuel to reach the 7/8 mark. I arrived at U-haul around 6;30pm and approached staff inside, the older gentleman with glasses was available (the young lady was speaking with someone) and so I immediately explained to him that the young lady had misread the fuel gauge and that it was on ¾ tank as shown on the original print out when I left here. I went on to state how upset I was that I spent $20 to bring the fuel level back to what she had said it should be. The gentleman stated that there was nothing he could do to compensate me for the money I spent on fuel. I stated that he needs to compensate me some other way and he agreed. Note that I am aware while I was stating my grievance; all staff are active on a wireless communication net and know exactly what is going on. I left the building for the final truck inspection and met another man outside who then took the keys and did his inspection of the vehicle. He returned with a piece of paper showing his observations of the fuel gauge as being in between ¾ and 7/8. I exclaimed that this was complete BS and returned inside the building to finalize the payment. The gentleman inside again stated that there was nothing he could do to compensate me for the money I spent on gas but said that he would forgive me the additional $15 of fuel I owe them in order to get the fuel gauge back to 7/8 as initially observed by the young woman. I was flabbergasted and paid the $43 and change I owed for the truck rental and km fee and left. Note: I travelled a total distance of 35km. Can someone with significant stature wit

When I picked up my uhaul the lady waiting on me was the most rudest mean lady I ever met. I ordered a 17 foot truck she said I had to have a 26 foot one as there was the only option left. I explained I live dead middle on the city and can't drive thy huge truck because it won't fit. She pretty much said she didn't care and that was the only one advailable or I would have no uhaul. She made me cry on how rude she was!!! I will never ever deal with you guys again because of this lady. I will never be disrespected that bad when giving my services!!!!

We have had many rentals this past month (trailers mostly). ...but on August 28th we needed a truck (Contract #98929057). We reserved it for 24 hrs. When we arrive to pick it up we were told that we could only have it for 7 hours (even though we'd reserved it for 24 hours and we were billed for a full day rental). We did return it on time. ..but were forced to rent an open trailer to complete the work we needed to do (Contract #99095250). This was an addition expense and required us to make several trips when we'd only planned for one. We have always been very impressed by the staff at the Dartmouth location. This mix up was caused by the call centre. We feel U-Haul should refund the cost of the open trailer, it was only required because the truck reservation was mishandled. Thank you, David Fullerton

Where do I start? - by the way...this survey was sent to me in French for some reason... 1. We received a call on Wednesday, 28 Aug stating that our box had been delivered to Edmonton and we would have to pick it up there as U-Haul no longer delivered to Fort McMurray. When I said that we were not able to pick the box up in Edmonton, the person I was speaking to in the office in Edmonton said "That's not my problem", and hung up on us. 2. We spoke to several customer service agents that day, all of whom said they were sorry but they were not able to contact the office in Edmonton so couldn't help us. Finally I spoke to a "Chris" in customer service, who told me that he had arranged for the box to be shipped to Fort McMurray "sometime next week, the 3rd or 4th" and that the manager of the receiving agent would contact me when it arrived, a week later than "guaranteed". 3. We contacted U-Box "central" on Thursday, August 28th and were speaking to a man in Nova Scotia who expressed how horrified he was at the poor treatment we received, and promised to arrange transport for the box to Fort McMurray immediately, and then promised to call us back with details. We waited all day but were never called back, and when we called in again we were told that there were no notes whatsoever on our account about this. 4. On Thursday eve, my wife left a VM message for Meagan Murphy in Edmonton, mentioned that we had been hung up on several times by a few people so far, and stated how concerned and disappointed we were. My wife requested a call back ASAP. 5. Soon after that, Meagan called my wife back, apologized for the extremely poor service and treatment, and told us that she would have the box transferred to Fort McMurray the next day, Friday, so that we could pick it up as scheduled on Saturday, 30 Aug. 6. On Saturday we went to the U-Haul agent, retrieved the box, and unloaded it. When we did, we noticed that the box was literally falling apart, two sides were detached, and there were large (4") gaps between the walls and the floor. We have not noticed any damage to our goods so far (still unpacking), though I am really not sure how when the box was in such miserable condition and the contents were so exposed to outside elements. If it helps, we have pictures of the condition of the box after we unloaded it, showing the split walls and large gaps, and we would be happy to forward them to you on request. Overall, I would say that having been promised delivery, then having that promise broken (at first), being hung up on, having the container fall apart, and not really being entirely sure we would ever see our goods again left us extremely dissatisfied. We certainly will not ever use U-Haul services again, and will advise friends / co-workers to avoid the company. The issues were bad enough. The complete lack of management of the issues, and lack of communication, along with being hung up on and treated so poorly, are simply not acceptable in our boo

When i picked up the auto trailer i was going to connect it myself but was told for insurance reasons it had to be done by the staff. I made the assumption that everything was done correctly and left the location. When i got home i realized that there were no lights hooked up for the trailer. I contacted the location but they were unable to assist me as they were closing for the day and suggested i contact road side assistance, when i contacted them i was told they don't come out during the day to fix lights? This is very alarming to me as there was a huge safety risk and i also risked getting a fine. As i was leaving at 3AM that morning my only solution was to go purchase the cable required to contact the lights from the truck to the trailer myself.

Busy weekend with Labour Day and end of month the same weekend, but even so the place was chaos and very slow.There were too few people working the yard while four clerks were on the front desk processing. And the front yard was completely gridlocked with people finished but couldn't get out. Recommend you get more people out front; not permit customer parking on your front yard on busy days; call customers up to get truck or trailer in sequence after they leave front desk. Or keep trucks/trailers in spare area up the street behind the main building and send customers up there to pick up their rental. You need more people in front yard doing that physical hook up, moving things etc.

The truck didn't seem like it was in great shape, made us a little nervous as far as maintenance goes. Staff were great, everything else was flawless and fast. They even let us extend our rental contract when we ran into problems moving in to our new home.

Rented 5x10 trailer on uhaul.com. Received confirmation to pick the trailer up at Dartmouth Windmill road location at 7AM for 6 hours. Arrived to the location at 645AM only to be told the location doesn't open until 9AM and we could not get the trailer until that time. Even though I missed out on two hours (three after waiting in a huge line up) I still had to pay full price and have the trailer back by 130PM. We are completely dissatisfied with this experience, although the employees at the Windmill Road location were very friendly.

When the customer service reps were busy the calls were taken by a friendly but ill-informed person in Phoenix. I purchased the only lock available at the site (which fit the latch on the trailer). Unfortunately it was cut off our trailer and half our worldly possessions were stolen. I was not worried about the locked trailer but I was worried about having the whole trailer stolen because there was no way to lock the trailer to the hitch. I locked our hitch to the vehicle but still lost sleep over the lack of the inability to lock the trailer to the hitch.

I will not use uhaul again...stuck with a 26 foot truck at last minute when a 14 foot truck was reserved....totally unacceptable..caused major problems as well as excessive gas costs.

I did have an issue with the call center. I reserved a 17' and when I called to find out where to pick it up, they told me there was no 17' available and would have to take a 26' which is way to large. I asked if there was really no 17' available in all of Nova Scotia. I was told no by the guy and he had a terrible attitude and was not helpful at all so I hung up on him. I called back and got another guy from Brampton Ontario who was very helpful and looked in the system and said the next closest 17' was in Dartmouth (which was only 15mins from my origianl pickup location). He apologize for the other persons rude and unhelpful attitide. This issue made an already stressful move even more stressful. I was extremmly unhappy with the phone service.

When a reservation is made and a specific sized van is ordered, that size should be available for the customer. On two occasions we ordered a 14 ft. van and were told that it was first come first served and we were given a 26 ft van, one that was much too big for our needs. This leaves a very sour taste in the customers mouth.

I spent over an hour waiting to leave with a trailer I had a reservation for. The lineup seemed to be a result of each transaction taking much longer than possible because the staff couldn't locate the items being rented from their electronic inventory. I had to spend 20 minutes in line to then go out and hook my trailer up and come back in to wait in an even longer line. My trailer was attached for at least 45 minutes before I was finally allowed to leave. 20 minutes of that was waiting while the staff tried to locate my trailer in their system to put it on my contract. The experience was extremely unprofessional, frustrating and a huge waste of time. I'll be looking elsewhere for my rental needs from now on.

The truck I reserved was not available. However, the staff did call me when one did come in and I was still able to do my move on the day I had planned. I suggest U-Haul consider informing their customers of issues like this ahead of time. I only found out the truck wasn't going to be there because I called ahead.

The only complaint we have is the initial pickup. We waited in line for 15 mins only to be told when we got someone that we first had to choose a trailer. A sign might improve that. This was no big problem however and were impressed at the ease of pickup and drop-off at George's Laundromat in Amherst. We will recommend anyone rent from you in the future. You made moving our son home a little less painful. Matt and Tracie

I would like to mention that Mr. Sud Rao, whom helped me at this location, when I dropped off my rented 10' Truck, gave me the best service I think I have ever had. He was so very helpful, answered all my questions clearly and with no hesitation and was also very nice and personable to top it off. When I picked up the truck there were no blankets in it, I had to go back and pick some up, the truck broke down 4 times, the third I had road side assistance, the the fourth was at the gas station where it stayed until it was towed. I don't know what I would have done if it had been full of my belongings. I filled the truck and barried the needle more then when I picked it up. only driving 50 some Km's and some how had to pay over 70 dollars in gas. Doesn't sound right to me if you ask. I feel like I paid for someone else's gas

It's funny how on the survey they only ask if the personnel are helpful when returning.... Does it not make sense that you'd want the personnel you were renting from to be helpful? The reason I ask is this: I rented a auto hauler and all the guy did was hook it to my truck and verify that the lights worked. He did't tell me how to strap the front tires, we also didn't realize that the fenders folded down for easier access to get in and out of the towed vehicle. Also we didn't realize that the chain was to secure the rear of the vehicle. I used my own straps for that and after pulling the car on the trailer did i realize that the tire straps should of been under the car first. First time hauler here, so the info would of come in handy. The guy at the drop off was awesome though... go figure

I had u haul install a hitch prior to picking up the trailer. I arrived when they told me it would be finished, and waited an extra 1.5 hours there. When it was finally ready, they repeatedly could not processes my payment; I was told this happened frequently. My trailer reservation was entered incorrectly - a local trip instead of a one way. This was not fully corrected until the next day, as my contract still said I had to return the trailer the next day. Everyone was very friendly and as helpful as they could be, however I remain unimpressed. The only upside was that I got the original price of the local tow, instead of the one way price. I rated this an average because although I was irate, they did try to rectify the situation.

The fellow that checked me in when I dropped my truck off respected that I was in a hurry and made my return easy. Girl at the counter coulda smiled alittle more. She seemed cranky.

The trailer needed some Lube on the ratchets , towed great and your people saved me a possible incident . When hooking up the employee noticed the ball was loose , when he went to tighten it up he noticed it was stripped . So he sold me another equal in price to Any other shop . Good job guys

I had an excellent experience. My only suggestion would be to be more clear on certain things such as how much the bridge toll is, which bridge to use, what fuel to use in the truck. It was almost as if they expected us to have used the service before, which we hadn't, so clearer info would have been helpful. But overall, the staff was very friendly and accommodating!

Choices of locations seem to be limited. Just to drive away to where the equipment will be needed will accumulate several chargeable Km. the Km rate is the highest I am familiar. I would recommend your company's service if the distances are reasonable, otherwise other rental companies may be more appealing.

I originally reserved a 10' truck, but was told the day before my move there were no 10' trucks left and there was nothing to be done because Uhaul 'doesn't guarantee you'll receive the product you reserved'. As a result, I was given a 20' truck, which was much too large for the amount of things I had to move. Even though I was given the same rate, I'm quite certain it resulted in much higher fuel costs.

Asked for furniture dolly. Attendant said he put one in the truck. Got to loading site - no dolly. Called to advise - left message - still haven't heard from anyone. I sent an employee back to shop to pick up dolly. We only had it for unloading not loading. Battery went dead. Got roadside assistance. Couldn't find my location. Found friendly person with cables and we got truck started ourselves. Because of dead battery I was 5 minutes late getting back to shop. People inside store with door locked. Got receipt today charged extra day for truck and dolly. Have called customer service to get rectified. Advised Manager would call. Still waiting.

Feel I was ripped off in the $80 insurance when I was told the my handle bars becoming bent in towing causing my master cylinder to leak would only be covered if the uhaul dealer in pickup location strapped in my bike. This was never offered nor explained during pickup

Well maintained yes, 26' truck was 30 years old or more. City Fuel consumption I calculated around .69 liters per km. So any long hauls or back and forth trips would be quite costly for fuel. Staff was friendly and very helpful picking up boxes days beofre the move on the pick up and drop off. In and out in less than 10 mins. I didn't notice at the store and it didn't come up til mid move but some items to help secure tiers of stuff would go along way in loading the truck. ( bars or straps would be good) Overall good bang for my buck. On a short haul .

When we came into return our truck one of the customer service rep's had difficulty with a clients check in and in turn all 3 customer service agents were focused on this one individual issue. I booked a one way truck to Moncton. The location I booked closed down and no one told me. I ended up having to do a return from Halifax to NB and back to Halifax and although the customer service rep gave me extra kilometres so I wouldn't be charged more, I was dinged with a late return charge after the guy at the desk CONFIRMED that I wouldn't receive a late return charge if I brought the truck back at 8pm. I had to drive an extra 300 km in one day because Uhaul closed locations and changed my booking without letting me know and now I have to pay an extra $30 PLUS a late payment fee which is absolutely ridiculous. I am renting with Discount next time because of this.

My only complaint is you can see the Uhaul sign forever away, but I was super confused about exactly where to pull in to pick up my Uhaul. If you had a sign that said 'officer' and then an arrow, that would be awesome. Besides that everything was great.

I have used U-Haul in the past and they have always been extremely efficient and a pleasure to deal with! I would definitely recommend them and should I have to move again would definitely use again myself! Great people, great service and great equipment!! I find them to be extremely cost effective as well! Always the one bright spot to an otherwise painful experience (moving that is)!!

I was very disappointed that there weren't any recycling facilities available at Uhaul. When I returned with the truck, I had a number of cardboard boxes that needed to be recycled. I was generally surprised that there were no options available to me. I had to then drive around town to find a place that would allow me to use their recycling facilities which extended my rental time and mileage. Very disappointing.

Truck was not washed, and we waited 45 mins to return a vehicle. I could of left earlier had the customer service agent taken both cash deposit which she said she couldn't return to me till I brought the truck back as I also put a deposit on my cc, which didn't seem right but it's minor. But honestly, rule #1 in business is don't let a customer wait to give you money. And 14 people in line at 6 pm waiting 45 mins isn't acceptable. It's crazy.

I have no problem with the Dartmouth location . My problem was the fact that a month before I had reserved a truck that was the exact size I needed close to my home , in fact a 5 minute walk . I even confirmed a week before that the truck was still in your system . but a few days before I needed the truck I got another call saying there was no truck( the size I needed) at my home location . the nearest truck was in Dartmouth a half hour away so I had to arrange a drive to go pick up the truck and after wards drive the truck back to Dartmouth instead of dropping it off a the end of my street less than a 1/2 kilometer away , so much for supporting a local business that is right in my community(Porters Lake ) .I was told there were no" one way" trucks available . very disappointed in this whole experience I FEEL THAT A TRUCK THE SIZE I WANTED SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELIVERED TO MY LOCAL U HAUL SINCE I HAD RESERVED IT A MONTH BEFORE I NEEDED IT

I rented a 17' moving van. The price, convenience, service and equipment were all excellent. My only criticism is the policy of placing a moving dolly and blankets in the truck (break the seal, you pay to rent it). For people who have no use for that stuff (me), it is in the way and takes up cargo space. I can't even move it out of the way without incurring a rental charge. Other that that, a great experience and I will be back.

Counter rep was really great -- efficient and friendly. Cargo van was in excellent shape and easy to drive. Very convenient location and excellent customer service and on-line options to speed check-in etc. Great deal on the cargo van ($19.99) although .49 cents per kilometer seems too high.

When we arrived the vehicle 10' was not available so obvious someone had not returned it. So we were upgraded to a 14' with no additional charge. Everything went smoothly - liked that they told us how much it would cost to cross the bridge too! We definitely recommend these location!

The per kilometre rate on my long distance move was a little high. Perhaps U-Haul should consider offering the option of a flat-rate for same day moves, or putting a maximum charge for distance travelled. Staff were excellent, everything went smooth and efficiently. Reserved online which was great, will definately use U-Haul again.

Your staff was courteous and knowledgable, however, when we booked a 5 X 10 Cargo Trailer, we received confirmation for a 9' Van. Not sure how those two things could get mixed up but, when we called, the issue was quickly resolved. This is a very busy location and it is easy to see how mistakes could be made. Overall, a very good experience.

They rented me an inappropriate trailer that with my car on board was more than my vehicles max towing capacity. Tracy the manager would not refund my money nor would she even take the time to talk to me or return calls despite repeated requests. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. Avoid this location!

I wish the trailer pick up could be faster when it has been reserved with credit card days before. Even offer pre payment on the card or whatever so when client is there for pick up can be done with 5 minutes :) Often there is quite a line up with people with many questions and could be their first time renting etc. Edward Fisher 902-209-8988

Extremely poor customer service. Booked 14 ft truck for 24 hours and upon pickup I was told I can only have the truck for 17 hours. Since we only picked up the truck at 5pm I had to pack, load and unload all night until 4am with only me and my 13 years old son because our helped had been hired for Saturday all day, but since they screwed up the reservation and the truck required to be back by 10am we worked all night beginning after a full days work. When I made reservation, I had said my insurance covers rentals and I don't need coverage but I was still charged for it. The girl on the phone when I made the reservations looked at the website and mentioned to me that the truck can be dropped off at the Lower Sackville location but upon pickup I was told there's no more location in Sackville, but there website still shows 2 and the lady on the phone made a mistake. Attempted to talked to Mrs. Tracey Higgs, general manager of this branch but she said it's my fault. I made the reservations and I know what was said but it was entered incorrectly by the employee. I will never deal with this company again.

I was told that the tank was full and to fill it up upon returning. I looked and the gauge was at full, like they said. I filled the tank up, which seemed like a lot of gas for the amount I drove. I got in the truck and it went about a quarter of a tank above the full line. When I brought this to the attention of the salesperson, I was told that I should have looked at the gauge to see how much gas I needed. The gauge was moving constantly, it was hard to tell how much gas I actually used. The salesperson gave me the dolly for free, but I'm still out about $50 in gas money.

Ensure that your products are readily available at outlet locations. I tried to book a truck at the wonder auto center in Bayer's lake a month in advance and with in hours I was called and told that it wasn't possible. Thus making it more inconvenient for me to travel to Dartmouth. This is the second time that this has happened.

When I picked up the u haul and was offered your insurance I declined it because I thought my vehicle insurance covered the trailer ...After I took the u haul , and made a call to my insurance company just to be sure and I found out that my insurance covered everything except your u haul....I then called your company back to get the insurance that I had declined originally and they said I couldn t do that now that I had already taken the u haul and signed the contract....My suggestion would be that maybe you could be a bit more flexible regarding this.....

Reduce the cost per km. The fee you charge per kilometer($0.49)is outrageous. It would have been less expensive for me to hire a moving company to move my daughter's fridge. ($50.00) including the labor to move it. The truck was great, clean and 4400 kms.new, but after getting it with little more than 1/4 tank of gas, I put $30.00 in it to take it to half tank. I paid $86.82 for the truck and mileage(55 kms) and rental of an appliance dolly and took the truck back after only four hours of use. I will think carefully before going back to U-Haul again. Rates like that are more than reasonable for a large moving van but highway robbery for a half-ton truck.

I've used this facility twice, the first time was great. The second time, there was a discrepancy with the fuel level upon return. When I checked in for pick up the lady circled that it was full. When I was greeted by a gentleman to receive the Uhaul he checked the gas and adjusted the level on my sheet as it was less than full. Upon returning the vehicle I stopped and topped the vehicle up to its original gas level and returned it at this level. I was the. Charged for an extra 12 odd litres of fuel. I've since wrote an email about the discrepancy and have received no word or refund on my visa. I will be calling if I don't hear from someone shortly to put in a complaint.

I rented a ubox in Nova Scotia loaded it and it was shipped to Edmonton. It is now 10 days late and I have not even received a phone call from uhaul. I phoned them today and they can not even tell me where in the country my ubox is at. Very poor customer service. The box had a guarantee arrival of 14 days and today is day 24.

1) Person helping me when familiarization of the vehicle did not know what a switch on the dash I asked about was for. 2) Reservation was not recorded properly which resulted in confusion at the pick-up counter. We had ordered a 20' one-way, which was confirmed. When I got there there were no 20' and I had to settle for a 26', also the one -way was shown as a local on the reservation. 3) I received confirmation e-mail that I had rented a 17' unit. This length was never mentioned, only when the check-in counter rep charged me for a 17' instead of a 26' (although I reserved a 20'). Looks like some recurrent training for the garage personnel and a review of he reservation process is in order. I must recognize the check-in rep for "upgrading" me although add'l fuel costs were not compensated. Also the vehicle (and the one the previous week) performed flawlessly and were clean.

I had a reservation on June 7th for a Cargo Van at 9:15 AM and had done the express Check-In online. I had to wait in line for 1/2 hour anyways with about 10 other people. There was only 2 reps on the counter for that much of volume. This needs to be addressed. Other than that, I was very pleased with service and vehicle.

We rented a transport trailer; staff in the yard were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Got the trailer attached and set up quickly. The trailer lights weren't working and they quickly diagnosed a missing fuse in our truck and provided a replacement to get us going. In the office, the staff were helpful and speedy. Overall a very good rental experience.

Its the worst ever place I ever visited. I booked the hitch much beyond the time with express freight charges to get it delivered on next day. I am about to join new job. But at the last moment U-Haul ditched me stating that the hitch I booked is given to somebody else and they cannot see the express delivery charges on the bill. The worst part is their manager onsite who was very rude and said the hitch is in ontario and go yourself to get it, further if you want to make a complaint do it. Very unethical behaviors by U-Haul manager. Because of U-Haul I have to dump everything here and go alone without my stuffs to my new job.

I called the store to see if a hitch was in stock for me to purchase. U-Haul required I give Visa number and make a reservation to pick-up the hitch. they said one was in stock. I thought it "weird" and clarified that I just wanted to buy it and I will install, they said they understand and that it is their process. So I went along with the insanity and did so and the person required that I set a time for the "reservation"... again weird but I did it. I went to the shop at the agreed-to time and a fool behind the counter babbled for 3 min. before he clarified that someone else had a reservation for the same hitch and I could not buy it! He said he could order one for me!!! He would not sell me the one in stock even though I was there with cash in hand and "had a reservation". (No first come first serve here). It was simply out of the movie "Brazil". So after wasting 2 hrs of driving and reserving I decided to waste more time on this crazy company and called their customer service to make a complaint. The agent was rude and without warning, transferred me to the Halifax branch. The receptionist was surprised but friendly however she had no way to resolve or escalate the matter nor register a complaint. This company can not sell nor register a complaint. This company has illogical processes, poorly trained staff and does not care about the customer with cash in hand. NOT RECOMMENDED

I have been very pleased overall by U Haul. I had a hitch installed on my Lexus for a fraction of the price that Lexus was going to charge and it works beautifully. I have rented u hauls about three times and the people were professional and very helpful. It made for an enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend U Haul to other people.

Everyone at the Windmill Road location was great, absolutely no complaints. I would also like to commend Curtis (not sure of his title, but he looks after other locations) as we were originally booked for a pick up at Cow Bay Road. When we got there we were told we could not get the van right then to come back in an hour, which we did. On return the person at the store refused to give us the van as he did not want to be bothered with it. I believe he called U-Haul to tell them as well as we called. Curtis called us back to say that he would make sure the van was picked up and taken to the Windmill Road location for us, which he did. He was great.

My quick check out was not quick. 45 minute wait to get contract. Recommend a separate line for those who have booked and registered a vehicle. At the pickup desk I was also asked many of the questions I had submitted online. It was very redundant. I would think the reservation number and ID would suffice. If I wanted to make a change, I could address the sales person myself and not be subjected to a survey which I already completed. A simple question from the clerk, I do you have any questions or concerns? The pick up process really needs to by streamed lined. I understand that end month is a high demand time, but people that have taken the time to book a rental should not be made to wait behind a last minute walk in and wait for them to develop a plan. Maybe you should put up a count down clock of rentals available for those people.

Didn't appreciate the young Uhaul employee that took great delight at announcing there would be a $25 cleaning fee to "power wash" the inside of hey small box-van I had rented. There was an extremely small amount of dust left over that took me 60 seconds to brush out and certainly gives me a second thought about using Uhaul again. (Windmill Road, Dartmouth NS location / May 30th @ 7:45pm) I am a businessman and understand the value of good customer relationships and am a huge advocate for good business practice. However, I suggest that Uhaul revisit their policy on what constitutes a "power wash" and how this information is delivered to good, paying customers. As an aside, the state of the Uhaul location was extremely messy, from the inside of the store, to the maintenance area and parking lot. Boxes were strewn all over the waiting and check-out areas and product was a jumbled mess. The inside of the store could certainly do with a power wash.

I was there on a Sunday and staff were wonderful. Excellent customer service. The lady working was able to sign me up for a different u haul and I got extra time which ended up working well for me. All in all I was happy with how seamless she made the process for me and that makes a huge difference when one is faced with the stress of moving.

There is a sign on the door the reminds customers to use the Mackay bridge - HOWEVER it's not very noticable, since there is a lot of other clutter around. We almost received a $250 fine for using the wrong bridge, and nowhere in the vehicle could I find a sign that said our truck was a class-2 commercial vehicle. The person who rented the truck to us did not mention anything about this, even when we asked if there was anything special we needed to know for the tolls. Overall not very impressed with that oversight.

Make sure the back of the moving truck doesn't smell like fish. We had to return the truck the morning after we rented it because it smelled like fish and we couldn't use and were told we still only had till the original time to return it which was ridiculous because we couldn't use it for the entire 24 hours we paid for. The staff were very friendly however and quickly exchanged our truck. Unfortunately we didn't get the full use of it we had hoped.

I was very disappointed because I was told I would have the truck from 3 p.m. On Friday till 3 p.m. On Saturday but when I went to pick up the vehicle I only had it till 1 p.m. On Saturday. It was hard on the movers as well because they had to last hours to work with. When I made the reservation over the website, I even called to confirm I had it till 3 p.m.

This experience was totally disorganized from beginning to end. I first got hold of this store by phone to get pricing and they promised everything would be stored in their system under my phone number so I could call back any time and book the appt. When I did call back I got a call centre in Arizona and they had nothing under my number so we went throught the whole process once again and she said she booked my appt for the following Friday at 10am. The following Thursday someone called from this store and asked if I'd decided to have the hitch installed or not so I said I had an appt the next day at 10 and he said they had booked me for SATURDAY, no hitch had been ordered and they dont do installs on Saturdays anyway. Great. So we go through the process once more. The following Tuesday they call and we book an appt for 10am the coming Friday, 23 May. I show up at 945 and they tell me theyre running behind and dont take my Jeep in until after 1030. They also said they had no note there that I had twice requested they have the wiring harness on hand and had twice said I wanted to try the the wiring harness provided by Chrysler first but wanted to look at the UHaul harness to compare quality and to have availabe in case the Chrysler one was hard to install or unsuitable in any way. Of course, despite the previous assurances this would be done they had absoloutely no record of it and no stock in the Jeep harness. So I tell the guy who checked me in to advise me asap if there are any issues what-so-ever with installing the Chrysler wiring becasue I dont want to waste money on labour having it installed when it would be cheaper to just order the UHaul one and come back another day to have it put in. Guess what? The Chrysler harness was hard to install and they pissed away 1.5 hours installing it and not once did they tell me they were having problems. Doesnt anyone at your company listen to their customers? Doesnt anyone at your company keep thier word and do what they promise to do???? Everyone I spoke to during this escapade made all sorts of promises and very, very few of them actually materialized. If what I'm asking is unreasonable or cant be done you should tell me up front rather than lie to me, build fasle expectations then drop the ball every freaking step of the way. When I vented to the guy that promised me he would let me know asap if there were any issues with the wiring he knocked 30 min off the bill but that in no way makes up for the frustraction and incompetence of this entire process. Basically, I now see UHaul as a totally disorganized company which is does NOT listen to its customers and is just too frustrating to deal with. I am very unhappy with UHaul.

I`ve found the facility good,it helped me to move from Montreal to Darmouth, I am satisfied, it was reliable and comfortable, however the gas for the truck costs more than 500 CAN$ .

Staff were helpful but my bill had an error, I called 17X then drove to the shop.Calls were bumped to a call centre - pleasant but unable to resolve. Hire more staff at Windmill Rd.

latch faulty says Im open all the time, had to reset my card twice and Ive gotten a late payment notice I`ve had the unit less than a week.

Being charged 360%/annum late payment fee was completely ridiculous. this combined with the fact you were sending registered letters to my neighbour, I will NEVER, do business with Uhaul again

Too many problems with the computer system. The delivery company was clueless. A tracking system should be used for peoples valuables. Late departure, overall unsatisfied with the service.

My only two issues where being forced to buy a lock from them. Even when I had my own quality lock. And second was being charged extra to have 24hour access to my unit, that was an outside unit.

Slightly pricey. The dropoff/pickup prices are extensive. The staff of both UHaul Brampton and Dartmouth were superfriendly and good to work with.

Perfect for doing renovations... Just move everything out into the Ubox, do your work, and then move everything back in. No furniture to work around.
