It would be nicer to start with a full gas tank and be required to return the vehicle with a full tank rather than guessing how much fuel needs to be added to get back to the level that was present when the vehicle was rented

My concerns with my reservation were with the online process. The location I requested did not have the truck I requested when I arrived. I never received a call or email and the person I spoke with on the phone stated she texted me the new pickup location but I never received a text so I had to search to find the location I was to pick the truck up at. Once I arrived at the location at 65th Street the staff was very fast and courteous.

The customer service was perfect.. the gentlemen on staff were patient and even let me "vent" my little frustrations with trying to move a "free piano"... They were truly helpful with the recommendation for equipment and even helping me with alternatives musical instruments (like a keyboard) should the piano move fail again. Overall great service! Much appreciated by a lady who was ready to say "thank you..but No thank you to a free piano"........

Outstanding customer service, as usual! Comments from customers standing in line also spoke of the quality service they receive and it's worth the time in line. I continue to say Frankie and his team are an excellent example of UHAUL at it's best! I got a same-day van for 2 hours with a 20 minute notice. Can't get better than that!

The gauge that is provided to the customer to determine how much gas to put in the tank upon return is faulty. I took the truck with just a little over 3/4 of a tank. From the chart I was provided with I only had to put in 19.8 gallons. I put in 20 gallons and the fuel gauge showed it was full instead of just over 3/4 of a tank. I'm guessing I put in $10-$15 more of gas than what was needed. It would help if that reading was more accurate.

The actual Uhaul facility and staff were fine...worked quickly even though it was busy and were overall friendly. I have an overall complaint about my experience with Uhaul and the regional office. I reserved a 26 foot truck through Uhaul's website To pick up at another location. I was called 2 days before my move by the regional office informing me that the 26 foot truck actually wasn't available and they changed my reservation to a 17 foot truck to pick up at this location...I could take it or leave it. I had already prepaid for movers for a specific amount of time based on the use of a 26 foot truck. I asked if i could at least get a credit for the extra miles I was going to have to make with the extra trips. I was told that Uhaul does not do any kind of credits for local moves. She did not seem bothered that I was upset and just quietly waited for me to take her offer or cancel. With 2 days before a move, I didn't really have a choice. In the end, we spent $50 extra dollars on mileage as we had to make double the trips. The movers we hired said this has happened to several of their customers recently. In the end, I didn't save any money by going with Uhaul and should have gone with the full service through Safe Movers. I also am upset about the chart Uhaul provides you to help estimate how much gas you need to put in the tank when you are finished with the truck. Based on the chart, we needed to put 15-17 gallons in. That seemed excessive so we did 10 gallons then checked the gauge. We had already put an extra quarter tank in than needed. Not cool Uhaul. I have been a Uhaul customer for the 5 times I have moved in my life and have always been very happy. I guess it's time to part ways...I will likely not return :(

It could not have been a WORSE experience. I would like to talk to someone in charge of West Coast U-Haul Stores. The manager will tell you horrid things about me, after I complain. He is a young, ignorant, uneducated person without sympathetic feelings for his customer. He is too dedicated to "Being Right"! He talks non stop, not allowing the customer to express her feelings. He did not mirror back to me my frustration with the service. He was aggressive and inappropriate. Why he has been made a manager of people is beyond my imagination. He seemed to have good IT skills. He needs to go back to school for communication classes. He is a poor representation of U-Haul. You have customers from all walks of life. A manager must be able to get along with people of various socio-economic backgrounds. He did himself (& U-Haul) no favors today with me. I rent a truck several times a year to move furniture I buy. I won't go back to U-Haul.

vehicle was unsafe to drive! i have driven a lot of trucks for a living and this truck was right at the top of pieces of junk! 8 to 10 inches of play in steering wheel, brakes were weak, suspension was shoddy, transmission shifted horribly and was overall unsafe! gas gage didnt work!
