This was NOT our intended, and CONFIRMED, pick-up location. It was an hour away! Our assigned location -- a full-service U-Haul location, not a gas station -- did NOT have our truck as promised. They then said that they would call us within an hour with more info, and NEVER CALLED. I called them, was put on hold, and then told that the manager would call me within a few minutes. He NEVER CALLED. I had to call the national office! The person at the national office couldn't pronounce anything properly -- I had to have her spell every place and street name -- or tell us how to get to the very-far-away new location. Terrible service!!! We will never deal with U-Haul again. What U-Haul could improve: (1) Keep its promises to customers. (2) Don't treat customers like dirt.

Drop off was fine. Only complaint is that we had to fold the moving pads. I read through the entire agreement and there was nothing included about folding the moving pads. Had we known it was expected we would have done it before returning the truck rather than standing in the parking lot at the gas station (there was no room inside). I wonder if this is a U-Haul policy or local policy.

If you need the truck returned to the exact same spot, then close off that parking to other customers and let your Uhaul customers know that up-front.

I made a reservation, did the online check-in, then my rental location was changed. This change was to a location in the opposite direction of where I was driving, so I cancelled my reservation and made a new one. I called in prior to cancelling, but the lady I spoke with was extremely rude and hung up on me. I did call back back and the second lady was nice and worked with me to make a new reservation. I was completely unsatisfied with the first representative I spoke with, but the second one was pleasant.

Truck cab was dirty, windshield (inside - very hazy) and (outside filty with splattered bugs). Inside of cargo unit had a heavy chemical smell. Truck drove well and only had 10K + miles. Requested location was Pittsburgh (1.1 miles away from daughter's apartment. Uhaul changed to Carnegie (9 miles further in very difficult traffic conditions. Called Carnegie location and told them that I thought that I had requested Wednesday 5/27 and was told it could be changed and was directed to call drop-off location. When I did, I was trasferred to a Uhaul service rep, and then to a sheduling department(?), Had to repeat my name serveral times because that rep was either multi-tasking or had computer problems. When I explained my problem, she could not make adjustment that I requested. I asked to speak to her supervisor, who definitely needs a lesson in "listening", I had to ask him to please listen to me. At one point in the conversation he directed me to call the drop-off location, because they would have to make the requested adjustment. I had to tell him a few times that I had originally called the drop-off location and they had transferred me to the service rep who transferred me to a rep in the scheduling (?) department, who then transferred me to him (upon my request). He was the fourth person that I spoke to during the call. After he finally took the time to liste. he abruptly said that it didn't matter, he could not authorize the adjustment. I asked him if I could speak to his manager and was told that he wasn't there. I said that he had my phone number and asked that his manager call me. I was put on hold for a few minutes, The Supervisor who I had been speaking with told be that i could drop off the truck on Friday by 10:30 AM without an addtional charge. I was in process of asking for an email confirmation when the call ended. What you can do to improve - training, ability to listen and cleaner vehicles. I bear some responsibility for the confusion about the pick-up date, but changing locations in a city like Pittstburg for an AM pickup would throw anyone's schedule and plans off. Thanks

This was not my original location - the timing for the change of pick-up location was ridiculous. It seems the original location knowingly overbooked and continued to confirm my pickup with them until much too late in the process.

There was a bit of a mix up when I came to pick up my Uhaul truck. Apparently it was never dropped off for me to pick up. The woman I spoke to was very professional and did everything she could to try to get me my trust, which is why I would still recommend the location. There just seemed to be a lack of communication that delayed my departure.

I called to extend my rental and was told that I couldn't and that if I didn't have it back in time the truck would be reported stolen and I would be heavily fined. I called uhaul customer service and the rep was able to extend my rental for me. I called back to the center and told the employee there about the changes I made with customer service and she blamed me for another customer being angry about the truck I was renting needing to be extended. I understand that other people need to rent the trucks but I will not be treated so poorly again that will be for certain. I was very offended by the threat to report a vehicle stolen when I rented it. this was a truly awful and incredibly unprofessional experience.
