The lady I checked in with was very rude. She snapped at me when I mentioned that I had filled it to the line but not in an argumentive manner. Because of her I will not use your services any longer. I as a customer didn't give her attitude and did not argue or even yell at her so the attitude I got after was very uncalled for.

My experience at uhaul was not what i was expecting. My family has been using uhaual for ever and it was now my time to move and they were a great disappointment. Upon arriving to the location there was no one at the front desk or even in the building. I looked in the back front and office and couldn't find anyone. I was on a time schedule because i had to pick up a couch from a buyer. I was very frustrated and proceeded to call the number. A person answered but was offsite. Told them that no one was here and they said they would call corporate which would get hold of the GM. After 30 min of my schedule pickup an employee walked in named Naveen Washington with another customer and helped him and didn't even acknowledge that I was there. He didn't say "one moment" or anythin, at this point I was very upset due to waiting around and missing my pickup for me new couches. When i did end up checking out he rushed me and didn't explain anything. Also when he pulled the truck up, there was no explanation on how to operate it. I have heard great things about uhaul but this experience put a bad taste in my mouth. I hope there is a way to reconcile. -Drew

1. Twice I was put on hold for so long that I had to hang up and call back. 2. I was never told I needed to get the trailer inspected one week prior to use. 3. The computer system didn’t tell me a 6’x12’ trailer was too big for my vehicle. 4. A woman at the University location said I could get my vehicle inspected in Texas and have them print a confirmation of inspection. In Texas, they tested the lights, but did not perform a full inspection, and refused to provide confirmation beyond a business card for a guy who didn’t even inspect it. They didn’t put the inspection in the system. My wife had to call and ask to append the reservation, and we still had no proof they did anything (i.e., they didn’t add a note to the reservation, that we could see at least). 5. Rebecca, at the University Ave location in Champaign IL, said she would change the date from 11/23 to 11/24 and email me the confirmation. She did not change the date and she did not send the confirmation for over 24 hours. I had to do it myself. Luckily I didn’t trust her. 6. Rebecca said she would call the Texas location and then call me back. She never did. 7. To rent a 6’x’12’ trailer from Champaign to Fort Worth was $231; but to rent it from Champaign to Austin was $610. The large price increase seems irrational. 8. No trailers were available at my designated location, so I’ll have to travel to pick it up. It is corporate policy to what until the last minute (the day before) to tell me where I can pick it up. They said they would call me, but a woman at the University Ave branch unable to verify the phone number they had on file for me. 9. No record of pre-towing inspection conducted in Texas. 10. A woman at the University Ave branch could not look up my reservation based on my last name or phone number, although a man at another location was able to. 11. The reservation says to pick it up at noon, but I told Rebecca I wanted to pick it up in the morning. The website wouldn’t let me pick a time to pick it up. I told another woman to change it, but she could not because the reservation had already been sent to “traffic,” which I guess is their dispatch. 12. Other people have their reservations confirmed and pick-up locations assigned weeks in advance but I have to wait until the last minute to find out. 13. It appears to be an inviolable corporate policy to wait until the last minute to tell the customer where to pick up the trailer. I was calling around town and a man at a neighborhood location said he had a 5’x8’ available, I asked if I could pick it up there, and he said corporate would call me the day before. 14. An employee (the pudgy effeminate black guy) was incredibly rude to me when I called. I had to hang up on him, rather than stand for his customer-abuse. 15. I had to make a completely new reservation in Effingham IL at the last minute. 16. When the University Ave, Champaign reservation finally called with the location it was for a 6’x12’ at 4:45pm. I asked

The tank was not completely full when I got the truck. Before returning the truck I filled it completely. It was obviously much more then I had used. I asked about giving me a credit as it was clear, even to the gentleman behind the counter, I had filled up for the person before me. I was told the only person that could help me had just left. That was that. Feels a little like being punished for doing the right thing.

The web site page for extra equiptment is a joke, the idea of the listed items to be prepopulated and the customer has to change the unwanted items to zero before billing is a waste of my time and your employees time that have these items ready for pickup and then have to correct the charges.

I loved my experience here at uhaul, Nov 15 of 2014. Great customer care is not common these days. Customer service is my profession, so it is a big deal to me when people go over and above in this line of work. Kathy took care of me in the morning. She was bright and kind and with the nod of her supervisor Levonne at the end of the counter, gave me an extra bit of help with a difficult time situation. Then, I had a confusing prepay credit card/part cash payment issue which took a bit of patience. Kathy, Levonne and I just chatted away and all was well and I was on my way. Upon return, I had Chasity and I was tired and she quickly wrapped things up, super friendly, and helped get me the cash back I had over paid and got me the return of the gas money that I had over filled. She was lovely. With all of the stress and anxiety of moving, to have this large scary idea of renting a truck be so easy and painless a process was a relief. Thank you so much to these three employees who helped to make a good moving day.

Back of the uhaul wasn't swept and cleaned out. There was dog food, shredded paper and other debris all over. Had to sweep it out before i even started.

Denham greeted me upon entering the store and even though I had a reservation for the next day, I was able to get the trailer I needed today and move my motorcycles. They quickly assisted me both upon pickup and turn in. I couldn't think of any way to improve. I will be back and that is what counts!

Things to consider for future customers - when a reservation has been made ahead of time is it necessary to redo the rental process? It took much longer picking up the vehicle than anticipated.

I reserved a 24 foot truck, which wasn't available, and was given a 14 ft truck instead. When I went to pick it up, I ended up with a 16 ft truck. Then, I couldn't return it to the place I had wanted to with my online reservation. So, I had to make an extra trip to get all my stuff, and then return it to the original store, thereby acquiring extra mileage. It has been 3 weeks since the move, yet I am still waiting for my 50$ credit return for the reservation not being met. Altogether, not a good experience at all. In the past, I have always used U-Haul, I am not sure that is the case anymore.
