Charged me for gas, even though gas filled to level on contract. If you have a billing dispute, all you will get is the corporate types who can't help you, fix the problem.

I returned the car about five minutes after the office closed, so figuring out how to drop the car off after hours was a little confusing at first. It would have been nice to have that explained in person when I picked up the car.

You should have a separate line for people who have reserved and given their information online or you should ask if anyone's signed up online and wait on them before the others. I had already done all that, but I had to stand in line for over 1/2 hour behind people who did NOT sign up online. When I was finally waited on, it took 1/10 of the time to get my vehicle than it took those who walked in cold.

Good experiences: Danny was very friendly and helpful. I didn't get the feeling that I was being nickel and dimed the way I do at other UHaul locations. Keep it up, guys, because it made for a net positive experience. Bad experiences: When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the line was nearly out the door, and the two UHaul employees were working through the line so slowly it was actually painful to watch. Also, if you're going to close the store before 7pm, you should really change your hours to reflect that.

Gas gauge indicates less than what was shown on paperwork when I checked in. Didn't bither to make note of this due to long lines and my necessity to start moving. Representative could have verified this before leaving me with rental truck.

I don't remember the name of the gentleman that helped me. Based on the invoice I received, Dan was terrific. He gave thorough instructions on how to return the vehicle after hours and explained everything clearly. I would recommend uhaul to my friends that are moving. Tiff

I made a reservation at the Redwood City location for a move in Redwood City. Reservation for a 20' truck confirmed. Received a call that my reservation had been moved to another location 15 miles away and I was to pay for every mile driven. No way Uhaul could move the truck to the location I had the reservation at. I paid an extra $60 in mileage fees, no one willing to waive the fees. I will never rent from you again.

We rented a 6x12 enclosed, double axle trailer. Having towed a few u-Haul trailers with my truck previously, I was surprised to discover that the running lights were not working, despite the brake lights and turn signals worked. However, I estimated the time of departure would be early enough for us to arrive home in Sparks NV before dark so I proceeded to rent the tailer since it was the only enclosed one. After driving about a mile, i was told by another motorist that a trailer tire was smoking. I stopped and discovered that the left front fender had been smashed-in, to the point where metal was rubbing against the tire causing the tire to burn. I called the U-Haul rental place about the situation. They told me they would call your roadside service but that it might take some time for them to arrive. Being concerned about the lack of running lights, I proceeded to fix the trailer problem so we could proceed filling it. It took me a little more than one hour to fix the trailer so It functioned properly. This put us behind schedule so that we did not leave until about 2:30 pm in the afternoon and became entangled with heavy Bay Area traffic that delayed our travel home. This made us too to arrive home before dark so we rented a motel room for $128 in Sacramento. I had planned a business trip to LV the next day and had to change it to the 22nd. Changing the airline ticket cost me $162. U-Hual has cost me $290, which I expect U-Haul to reimburse me.

Reserved online. Requested the 6x12 trailer. The person on the phone asked me all the questions regarding my vehicle including if it had a hitch. I informed them that I had a class 3 box hitch. When I arrived at the location at my reserved time, durring the vehicle inspection they asked me if I had a hitch. I said I had a Class 3 box hitch. They said no, I needed the receiver portion that goes into the box.I asked If it was included in the rental. They said no. I asked if they rented them, they said no but they had them for sale for $30 and $10 for the ball.... I said forget it, I have 3 in storage. As I was on my way to my storage to get one of my receivers, I called the customer service number to chew them out for not informing me I needed the receiver too, and to ask what ball size I needed, as I have multiple... I was informed that the trailer would accept between 1 7/8 and 2". I returned to the store. The receiver I grabbed had a 1 7/8" ball on it. The guy at the store told me the trailer would only work with a 2" ball... you got to be kidding me... luckily I brought an extra ball with me, but they wouldn't let me use their tools to swap the ball out!!!! I had to go across the street to Kragens to buy a cressent wrentch. When I got back, they asked me if I had an adaptor for the lights. What adaptor???? My truck was factory wired with a round 4 pin, and the trailer had a flat 4 pin... you don't include that either??? I informed them that when I was there an hour earlier discussing the receiver hitch, that would have been the time to bring up needing a wire adaptor.... $13???? Wow.... Anyways, all hooked up, ready to leave, now your computers are down???? I have to wait another hour so you guys can unplug a bunch of crap, calling uhaul tech support, line out the door???? I set this up online!!! I'll pay cash for the adaptor. You guys know how to use a calculator????? Why do you have to swipe my credit card because why??? Its on file!!!! Oh yea.... finally on my way... over 2 hours waisted.... worst experience ever...

I was charged for gas even though I had refilled. When I picked up the vehicle the gauge marking was wrong. I alerted the attendant and he corrected my paper contract by making a mark by the halfway point in the fuel gauge picture to reflect the true status. However, it looks like he forgot to update the system and I've been charged. Customer service says it's being looked into but given the runaround on the phones I've been given this morning I'm not very hopeful!

It takes too long to be served when picking up the equipment, particularly early in the morning. Need more desk staff at that time. Staff that are there are friendly and helpful.

The windshield was filthy. When pointed out to staff person he claimed the center part(wiper track area) was fine. I had to find the Windex and a dirty rag, climb up and do it myself. Poor judgement as it was a safety issue, very poor service.
