Drop off was a little awkward - I was never told at the initial pickup, and two employees told me slightly different procedures once I was ready to drop it off. Would be a good idea to explain drop off procedure to the customer before they leave with the rental in the first place.

I rented a 15 foot truck at this location. Not only they jammed the parking with their vehicles so I couldnt have a parking space for my car , but also claimed that those vans were returned by customers and they didnt have keys . I had to park my car couple blocks away. Then I rented that truck for moving from my old place to new place. So the trip is : 62 west el camino real , mountainview, CA ( Uhaul store) to 2972 sunburst drive , san jose . Then from 2972 sunburst to 2020 southwest expy, san jose then back to 62 west mountain view , CA. Now you tell me, how come this trip racked up 77 miles? My foolishness is that I trusted this company, didnt take a picture of the mileage. My guess is that you, Uhaul , are scamming customers, after we returned it after hours, you drove it ore rented out then put those extra miles on my tab. Never again Uhaul. Con artists.

There was a two hour wait to pickup the equipment and we were told we had to drive an extra 20 miles to pickup the trailer (we reserved it a month prior and received no phone calls or emails about a location change). This created a problem with mileage, cost of gasoline and time. We chose the mountainview location because it was 1 mile from our storage facility and we knew we were tight on time. So to have to wait two hours then drive an extra 40 miles was not acceptable. When I called the 800 number to see if they could help, I was told no. I was also told that any compensation for the error had to be taken care of when i returned the vehicle (even though I was returning it to another location and they wouldn't be able to provide any monetary compensation). When I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, I was told there wasn't one. -- It was truly the worst customer service I ever received. When I returned the vehicle, we were not able to talk to anyone at the huntington beach location because the wait time was almost an hour. Very Bad U-Haul.

The Change Engine Oil and Low Tire Pressure was on during whole rental period. PLEASE PLEASE get clear rental agreement with agent before renting - a $19.95 truck rental turned out to the $70. The bill I received stated .59 mile but the total reflected .99 mile. Location manager did not honor the "paper bill" figures. I suggest if you are not willing to pay more than you should then go to a different trucking rental company. My rental is in dispute with the General Managers at this time.

U-Haul's trailer reservation policies are terrible. If they don't have the exact one you reserved, they don't call you, they don't notify you, they do nothing. Until you show up (or call the same day) and find out they don't have your trailer. And don't ever expect to get the $50 "reservation guarantee" refund, that never happens, since they can almost always offer you "something similar" (or at another location an hour drive away...) and not have to pay out. U-Haul policies aside, the folks at the Mountain View location are actually quite nice and will try to take care of you within the scope allowed by the policies. Unfortunately, they "couldn't" call other locations to see if they had the trailer we needed and "couldn't" let us use their phone to call around to find the right trailer. Sigh. At least the trailers are rock solid, will take lots of abuse, and are dirt cheap to rent for a day (no mileage fees for trailers). So yes, I will use them again, just not expect to get the exact trailer I need.

The line to get the truck was by far the longest I have ever seen at a U-Haul, at any time. The pickup process needs to be streamlined, and customers could be provided average wait times for the location.

I rented a van here with no advance reservation. two days before, I rented a truck from the Sunnyvale location with a reservation. The Mountain View experience was great. the Sunnyvale experience was a disaster (it took at least an hour at Sunnyvale to get the keys). The van was like new and in perfect shape and the people were helpful and fast. Thanks!

U-Haul's reservation system is horrible!! A reservation meant nothing, not even that a truck was guaranteed within a 50+ mile radius. I would recommend that others find an alternative to depending on your promises.

It was a Saturday morning and I had to wait in line for an hour to pick up my reserved truck. There were only two associates working at the registers - you should know Saturday morning is a busy time and schedule employees accordingly. It was unacceptable. One employee blamed it on a slow computer - update your systems then! The other employee was casually munching on a cookie as he helped us out - very unprofessional.

In the original reservation (online, then confirmed with a phone call) I was directed to go to 334 San Antonio for vehicle pick-up. It's the other side of town, and made for lots of lost time arranging a ride to the correct location. That was not good.

I was charged for fuel after returning the truck with more fuel than I started with. I pointed out the fuel gauge didn't match the contract when I picked up the truck. The employee giving me the keys said his name was Don and he was the manager. The customer service line sent three messages for the manager of the store to call me but he never called. The service rep told me the manager at that store was not named Don. I suspect many customers give up and don't complain, and the store ends up with revenue they shouldn't receive.

Wrong billing. They charged wrongly for 7.5 Gallons of Gas while we only drove 13 miles total. I called customer service, the Manager was supposed to call me back. But never did. I had to call customer service once again and explain. The rep agreed there is wrong charging. I did not receive the refund for 6 Gallons of Gas still.
