It smelled of body odor when I arrived. I propped the door open and told the front desk clerk. They closed the door anyway and didn't care. Also, the truck I used was quite old. However, the customer service was quick which I liked very much. In and out experience. Good job.

Service was terrible. Both times (check in and return) front desk took forever. Staff was unprofessional and the front desk attendants were clearly hung over. Also, I asked for moving pads, but weren't any in the truck.

customer services very slow, she started my order and then I had to wait on a call she received on her cell phone, then she continue with my order, then the other register didn't know how to finish her order and I had to wait until she help the other person. I think they need to get more organized in customer services by focusing on each customer at the time.

The facility itself was the nicest, well kept, and cleanest facility I've seen from you guys yet. The reps were friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, this is located in the ghetto and I didn't really feel safe.

Staff can be more attentive and to disstressed customer's converns and be more empathetic and helpfull. We had a major online reservation failure and the staff at the U-Haul branch in Oakland could not seem to care less to assist in resolving the or offering alternatives. Total lack of customer service through and through.

the trailer was too hard to unhook from the hitch. The trailer was also falling apart. You need to burn that trailer and or get rid of it.please get rid of the old trailers and get new ones.if they're from 1947 you should not be using them anymore.

The overall rating is for customer service (it was good at this location.) However, the 24 feet truck we rented was poor in conditions - wheel alignment was off, truck was really old (over 190k), both side mirrors were loose. I was afraid this truck would stop running in the freeway on my move. I would not recommend U-Haul trucks to my friends.

C/S left a lot to be desired, they took a long time to tend us, and part of the equipment was not available and had to go to a different location to complete our reservation order, what should have taken 1 hour, took us all day.

Have tanks always full at rental and return. Trying to get the tank level to where it was is an annoying pain, and requires guesswork - especially irritating because gas is nearly always prepaid at stations.

Absolutely horrid attendants. Clerk had an absolutely terrible attitude, acting as if being at work was ever customer's fault. Clerk later hit a van in the parking lot when backing a truck while on the phone and acted as if nothing happened. Equipment was old, dirty, and tires were deflated. Would prefer to never use this service again.

This location is understaffed, and the employees that ARE there are wildly incompetent, though they are very polite. The manager admitted to ripping my lock off my UBox for no apparent reason. The box itself was damaged, and some of my items were missing or moved to places in my UBox which would have been physically impossible without a person accessing the box. Nobody bothered to inform me about the damage; I only found out the first time I went to get something from my UBox. Multiple times I have called to confirm my UBox would be pulled out to access, only to arrive and find that nobody had any idea I was coming. This cost me many hours of wasted time, plus the extra cost to extend Zipcars that I had rented to come pick up items, since it apparently takes an hour to find a UBox and forklift it out to the parking lot. They rarely answer the phone, probably because they don't have enough employees to get the job done. Finally, I spoke to the manager himself the day I was returning my empty UBox, but I was still billed for an additional month of storage, and it's been a royal hassle trying to get someone on the phone who can sort that out and get me a refund.

I made a reservation for a location in Castro valley then I get email saying pickup in Oakland called customer service they were down right rude so I had to drive 30 miles out my way. Said there's no trailer there didn't offer any recommendations on how to correct problem just no trailer there Basically to bad for you attitude

Improve and emphasize customer service, almost every staff member I encountered was incredibly rude from the counter to the lot. Unhelpful and unaccommodating. Rude male staff coming through the door aggressively, not even holding the door for me or letting me exit. There was no van, which I reserved was not there, they told me I would have to go to another location. Didn't offer me anything in return.

The location was great and the employees accommodating. But I had a major problem with this rental that stemmed from the reservation I made. I made the reservation 2 weeks ahead of time. I called the local number of my nearest uhaul. I found out later that I was actually rerouted to a call center in AZ. I made the reservation for two days. Confirmed twice with the operator. I was quoted a dollar amount for two days. When my reserved day arrived, I went to my local uhaul to pick up the vehicle. They told me that my reservation was only for 2 hours, not 2 days and that they were now booked up. This seemed to happen all the time, as the worker said that the call center makes these mistakes all the time on reservations. They worked something out for me, so that I was able to get the vehicle for the time I needed, although that was no thanks to the bungled reservation the call center took for me. My moving plans could have easily have been ruined. Additionally when I got the vehicle the gas gauge was lower and the miles were higher than was was reported on my check out ticket. I reported this, as I didn't want to be charged for gas and miles I did not use. I was told it was "okay" and my ticket was initialed. Upon return, I was not charged for the extra gas I didn't use, but I WAS charged for the miles I didn't use. This amounted to not much money, but if uhaul did this to every customer, padding their mileage, they could potentially be making a lot of money dishonestly off of people. I did not appreciate this and felt I needed to say something about it. Beware.
