At the pick-up location, clerk told me that there was 1/4 tank of gas. We both went out to physically check and the gas was under 1/8 empty tank, the clerk told me that this location is targerted for syphon gas out his trucks. I ask him if he can put gas, he said No, if he did he said he would have to charge me? So, I took the truck with the gas tank running on fumes/empty? Luckly, there was a gas station nearby, however when I returned the truck the clerk was surprised the gas tank was empty, I explain the story to him, and he said pick up station should've not allowed me to drive-off with the truck empty and they can be fined $100 by UHAUL for doing this.

My experience with the U-haul location at Tully Road was riddled with poor communication on the part of U-haul. Below is a brief description the events. 1) Thursday Evening-- Made a reservation to pick up at Tully Road at 3 pm with a one way drive to Belmont. 2) The reservation was made at the incorrect time; 10 am instead of the desired 3 pm. I did not realize until 1 pm when I checked my phone messages that I had missed a call from the U-haul personnel. 3) I called U-haul at Tully Road and spoke to Camille. He assured me that my reservation was reinstated. However, Camille failed to select a pick-up location and failed to reinstate the on way trip. This failure was only communicated to me after I arrived at the Tully Road location. Please note that this was a large inconvenience as I did not have a car as I anticipated driving the truck home. 4) When I arrived at the Tully location, I was informed that a 1 way truck was no longer available at that location and that nothing could be done to rectify the situation. After mentioning that I had walked and was on a tight time frame, the associate made the asinine suggestion to pick a different truck up at a different location. 5) I spoke with the manager at the U-haul center. She offered me a VIP card for $50 to cover the cost of the extra miles. She would not issue more reimbursement for my time and my gas that would be needed to fuel the truck for the return trip nor did she offer to compensate me for my extra time and gas that would be needed to drive my personal vehicle from my home near Belmont to the Tully Road location in east San Jose. 6) For reasons beyond my control, I became unable to return the truck. I dropped it off at the Belmont location. The personel at the Belmont location informed me that there would be a near $200 wrong location fee. I still feel that this situation was not my fault and that U haul needed to rectify and cover the costs of returning the truck. 7) At the Belmont location, I spoke with another manager. She informed me that U-haul would not cover the costs. She was only willing to issue the original $50 VIP certificate. 8) After gathering all the contracts regarding this transaction, I returned to the desk at the Belmont location. I was prepared to pay the fee associated but file formal complaints to the Better Business Burrow and with my credit card company. 9) Please see the adjacent box.

Parker needs training in customer service. He needs to get rid of his attitude and he needs to look at the customer when he is spoken to. When I reserved my truck I requested 2 hand trucks, only 1 was available. He couldn't tell me why the second one wasn't there for me. I was told by him that in general uhaul does not reserve the hand trucks. I suggested that someone needs to inform the employees who make the reservations for the customers. He simply shrugged his shoulders and tilted his head while keeping his head down. When dealing with a dissatisfied customer the employee needs to look at the customer and let them know he's listening. All other employees were very accommodating. I would go back to this location again but don't want Parker helping me.

I just think that the person that helped me with my reservation at the store should know what equipment I requested. Because at the store he told me he would check if there are still furniture dollys available. Shouldn't they know already???

Just let them know if the needle gas take a half an hour to mark if it full so the way they not spending or overpaying for gas it's ridiculous and the air conditioning working appropriate Thank you. Jt moreno

The clerk was rude because he had to work on Labor Day. He never smiled or said thank you. The truck was having trouble shifting gears from third to fourth and consequently would rev to 4500 to 5000 RPM before shifting. This caused a waste in gas which increased my expense. I should have gone to Budget which was recommended to me by a friend. Your location was convenient...too bad for me!

this whole experience was a fiascal, I would never rent again from uhaul, nor would i recomend then to anyone, our reservation was completely mesed up, and put us behind by a day. no one was helpful, or caring. hopefully thats not how you want your company ran.

The general manager Daniel wasn't very pleasant. I normal never do surveys but he was so rude. From the moment I stepped in the facility he had what seemed to be a bad attitude. He was smiling and kind of just looked like he hated his job. However, Jose was awesome he needs to be promoted or recognized for working with a sense of urgency and being polite. I don't think Daniels team enjoys working for him either. Anyways hopefully you guys can resolve the issues or expect more complaints and audit due to Daniels poor attitude.

Have the truck that was ordered 3 wks in advance, give more notice than a day if u know u r not going to have the truck. Give some sort of a discount for the inconvenience. Had to do two trips 80 mile trips and pay extra day after being told there was no charge.

The store had a line out the door and processing was not helped by computer system problems so that the agent had to process the contract offline. He was professional, efficient and courteous and apologized for the delay which was not his fault. Excellent customer service. I was turned off U-Haul by a negative experience in San Diego several years ago but now I would not hesitate to return.
