The site here at 597 was not the site of the drop off. I choose 751 Tonnelle in Jersey city and they changed it to 235 12th in Jersey city when I was on the rode. I went to 235 12th street and nothing was there. Traffic was crazy and we parked on the street with tons of cars around, maybe in a bad spot to stop. Had no choice. then called, the directed me back to my original spot of 751 Tonnelle and nothing was there. I called on the phone to see what was up. They were trying to tell me to go to a third spot. I said no, I have been driving all over in a 26' truck in bad traffic, they should come get it. Well it turned out 751 was a drop off spot but there were no Uhaul signs. I left keys in truck and it was picked up there. But I had to spend about an hour driving and on the phone wasting my time. I don't know what 597 Luis is, never went there.
RENE LEMIEUXThe app would not sign in after so much troubleshooting. The location, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The van itself has seen better days; check engine light is on, wing mirror broken and won't move, tyres needs replacing or inflating, engine was struggling overall compared to other u hauls.

Doris NicholsonThe U-Haul manager that was in charge at that time was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had to return the 1st cargo van due to non-working rear blinkers but he immediately replaced it with a fully operational cargo van that ran perfectly, was clean, and easy to drive. I will use this U-Haul station in the future if I need to rent other trucks or cargo vans. Also, the customer service representative that I worked with (Valerie) after the sale was also very helpful and easy to work with.
Debra MagadiniI picked up the truck with no hassle. It was quick and easy. With in 20 mins I was driving off the parking lot. Truck was clean inside and out. Every thing was working great and all the buttons inside the cabin were labeled to make it easier to understand the functions. Fleet is well populated with pick up and drop off locations everywhere. Highly recommended.
Rayniery RosarioU haul battery was bad and ran out, we had to wait 3.5 hours in cold weather 50 F for the replacement. It delayed our plans, we could not pick up the furniture we wanted and no compensation was offered. Would recommend testing batteries in cold weather before rental.

JAMESMICHAEL WARGO JRNot a great experience. If you rent here do not use the 24/7 mobile check in. That system was apparently down and they did not know to tell me to contact customer service so they could walk me through an internet check in rather than on the app. They were very nice but just kept trying to check me in online and kept saying the system was down. I even asked if there was someone to call and they said no. After a customer came in behind me and was able to be checked in, I took it upon myself to call UHaul customer service and they got me checked in. From the time I arrived until I left with the van it took AN HOUR. The worst part was when I returned. A different attendant met me in the parking lot and said I had to return the van full. At no time before I left was I told this and I do not see this in my contract. I have never rented a moving van and had to return it full. I personally think this is a SCAM that this location is running. It happens to be a gas station and I think they force people to refill the van to make extra money. Additionally, the attended was incredibly rude and aggressive. We only drove the van 15 miles and the arrow was just at the full line but he demanded that I pull around and put in gas until the pump stopped. My contract also said the mileage rate was $.99 per mile but they charged me $1.09. When I questioned it, I was told that was the rate. I couldn't be bothered arguing any further and just left. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating. The only reason I did not give 1 star is because the attendants that were on duty at pick up genuinely tried to help and were polite and apologetic about the delay.

Emiliano RagaI drove only 19 miles, negligible traffic. When I came back, I was going to put in about $5 (1.5 gallons) to cover the gas usage. This would more than cover my usage. The attendant proceeds to pump the gas for me. I knew I was in for it! He pumps 3 gallons of gas and says he has to pump until it’s full. So it comes to just under $10. But why? I may have only needed a gallon… the amount I used. The previous user probably did not fill it up all the way. Then I go inside (an Exxon gas station! I should’ve known! But I needed the van to transport some tvs from Best Buy across the street.) and the attendant inside gives me a bill that has a $5 maintenance fee, $3.68 transaction fee, and other fees that amounted to more than $15! So they seem like they will find a way to squeeze an extra $15-20 bucks from you before you leave. Not a fan of treating hard-working, honest, paying customers like that. I will be renting from a different location.
Brian ChrichlowI had ZERO problems when i rented a cargo van. All the staff who worked @ this location were EXTREMELY pleasant and the van & the equipment were well maintained!!! The location was easy to get to as well!!! I DEFINITELY recommend this location to anyone who needs their services!!

Zahir KhanEven though the truck was not clean when I picked it up, I was charged for a cleaning fee when I returned it. It was a snowy day and I had to drive with disfunctional vipers. It was dangerous and no one warned me about it before I left the station.

Peter ConniffThe first van had a flat tire and the warning signs were on. I told the attendant he gave me a dollar and said fill up the tire. I was told to call UHaul and I was at a UHaul location. Because the flat tire was a safety issue we exchanged words and then I was given a different van.
Richard StemplerThe worker at the rental place tried to scam me. Me and him both watched the fuel meter rise to the 'F' He stated "it looks like its full but it isnt actually full". Keep in mind I had first put $40 worth of gas in the tank prior to taking the drive to the drop off location, and then $20 when I got to the location. I have video proof, this worker is scamming people, who knows how many unaware customers were successfully haggled by him

Ebonrr RosarioPlease advise I was charged for 2 gal of gas for a total of 9.50. It is not a valid charge. I received the vehicle with less than 3/4 of a tank. You can see from the mileage I only traveled 5 miles. I also purchased $5.05 of gas. This charge is not justified.
joseph clementeI am not sure why I was charged extra fuel charge of $9.02 (2 gal). I have returned the van with the same fuel gauge reading and I have photos supporting that. The reading was not 5/8 when I took the van in the first place.

ShingLi ChanConvenient, but difficult location to get to due to its proximity to the highway leading to the Holland Tunnel entrance. The location is a quick stop fueling station, with u-Haul as a side busniess. The people working there were very helpful getting the truck checked in. Again, despite other short comings, the location is convenient for a very densely populated area. Another area needing improvement: my truck was very low on engine oil (we added a quart), and no window washer fluid was present or the system didn’t work.

I chose counter pick up and still had to do all the work in the app, should not have the option to chose counter pick up.

DANIEL MEYERRude customer service when first arrived to pickup truck. Did not have the dolly I paid for and wanted to rent. Only had the lower level smaller one. No one was willing to entertain or adjust the price on the rental of the dolly. Overall It was ok , was able to get the truck and do what I had to do.

Joseph KkulvickiPlease let people know what they need to carry with them to the 24/7 UHaul pickup location like Passport and Lease etc so that the person does not have to make two trips to the location, it is quite terrible experience doing this.

Kouakou KonanI arrived about 90 minutes after my scheduled pick up time due to some other move-related delays. When I arrived the agent very matter of factly said they no longer had a truck for me. I was in disbelief and said “what?” He then yelled that he didn’t have a truck for me. After a heated exchanged, he finally offered up another truck - I’m not sure why he didn’t do this in the first place. I got a truck, didn’t get a dolly, and got a lot of attitude and an awful experience at pick up. Other than that the truck was fine and drop-off was ok too.
Jeremy LambertThe checking in process of receiving the rental was excellent. The return was horrible. The attendant just told me to scan the code for the return. I informed him that my phone didn't have the ability to do so, and He responded that's your problem, and wouldn't receive the truck key. I snapped a picture of him and a picture of the key to prove I was there and threw the key behind the counter. He stated he would charge me more than what I was suppose to be charged, and He kept his promise by stating the gas was 1/4 tank less than the amount of pick up and I was charged $21.00 extra for the gas. If the $21.00 is not refunded to my AMEX I will challenge it.
