The lock box was too high up for me to put in the code word. I am 5’8” tall and could not see the #1 box and the top to see if the correct code word was being spelled out. When I started the truck, it made a few grinding sounds like a bad battery. The gas tank registered 3/8 of a tank even though the contract said 1/2 of a tank. The battery died on the ferry across Lake Champlain. As soon as it was jump started, the gas gauge went crazy telling me I had 0 miles to empty. Roadside assistance had to be called immediately. Then, when attempting to fill the truck with gas, the pump handle kept popping like it was full. After another visit, from road side assistance at 10:00pm at night before driving 2000 it was determined the gas tank had a possible malfunction or perhaps someone had tried to jimmy with it and got something stuck in the tank and I could change trucks or work slowly at filling the tank. What a choice! It took 23 minutes to fill the tank with 20 gallons. The tank holds 40 gallons. All gas stops took forever because the filling of the gas had to be done by hand at about 1/3 to 1/2 the normal flow of gas from the line. It was ridiculous. After the second road side assistance before ever heading out on the trip, I requested a phone call from a manager at the end of the online review. That was on Thursday, April 11th and as of Tuesday, April 16th I have not heard from anyone. Throughout the entire 2000 miles, three day trip, we never really knew how much gasoline was in the truck. At one point in our slow process of filling, gas came pouring out as if it was full. Then, it took another five gallons of gas. It was a nightmare every time not knowing. Plus added hours to our trip because of how long it took to fill up the tank. When we moved our daughter to Vermont, we used a Budget truck. I am very disappointed in our experience with UHaul.

The Woman who I dealt with primarily, (named Jessica) was one of ‘THE’ most professional and helpful people that I’ve ever encountered. She went way out of her way to be helpful and made the whole experience as easy as possible. I wish that more people were like her. She is truly an asset to your Company for sure. While the equipment was definitely great, and I had an overall good experience, SHE in particular is what I’m remembering about this specific U-Haul Rental.
