I hadn’t been to this side of town before but the signs for rental returns were very visible and helpful to guide us to the right place. The employee at the drop off location had difficulty with his hand held system to check in my trailer and had trouble finding the reservation because there are multiple trailers within the uhaul enterprise with the same number that my trailer had. He eventually got the system to load and was able to find my reservation to check me in. Return was smooth after the system loaded and the young man was respectful and kind.

Nicole MobleyWe went to this location because they had all the parts needed onsite and an appointment available. They said they ask to keep the vehicle for two hours but it would probably only take 1.5 hours. So my wife and I decided to drop the vehicle off, go to a local restaurant for a meal, and come back. Well, four hours later they returned the car ready to go. So no, I won't be using this location again. The work done is fine, but not on time. Twice as much time and requested by U-Haul. We didn't mind that, it's that they told us the wrong time and, because of that, our time was wasted. Four hours was fine if we would have known, we could have planned for it.

Jared and the tech, Gonzalez went above and beyond thru the process. The tech took a lot of time to explain me some details and helped choosing a wiring harmess. Very happy with this location. Excellent staff.

When I told the employee that I had returned my equipment two days earlier, she said she would go find it. It is frustrating to me that my equipment was not processed the day I returned it.

Tranekia ColeThe first time was great everything was wonderful until I got an E alert that I was unaware of. The staff provided me with the phone number that I needed to call to take care of balance the E alert. I spent over 2 hours on the phone waiting for a representative for them to tell me they couldn't see a balance and for me to refer back to the store, so I did they found balance I paid them they told me it was lifted I will be good to rent. I stand in line for over an hour the next day after making reservation for storage and uhaul truck along with other items after paying for it. The representative tells me I showed up for E alert and he couldn't do anything for me but give me a number to get it lifted. I wasn't going to do an repeat of what I just did terrible. Very unhappy either the system has to be better or staff in store should have ability to get things taken care of for the customer I really needed the uhaul services you guys failed me

However, when I got there to rent a truck, I stood in front for maybe 6 to 8 minutes before somebody even said anything to us and there was three people working inside. There was no other customers at the time I had to say, you guys don’t say hello or greet your customers or can I help you before a gentleman finally helped me other than that, everything else went great. Customer service was poor.

They found another trailer for me at a different address and we went to pick up. It was there but no office so I called the number on the text an was greeted with a rep with an attitude. I explained my issue and he rudely sent me to another address. We went there and Charlie was GREAT! he found my order set me up with the trailer I needed and Brandon hooked us up to go.. I HIGHLY Recommend if you need to rent a trailer in Colorado Springs GO TO CHARLIE at 1193 N. Academy Blvd.. Charlie and Brandon will Set You UP! As for the Rude Guy, Karma will go with him.. :) Thanks U-Haul We made it Safely to Michigan!

The “deal” did not give clear instructions that I would have to drop off the uhaul truck at the storage site and then use that site for my rent of a unit. I almost canceled the unit when I found out I would not get a free month. There are lots of other choice less expensive in town .

Jared might've had the Monday blues, but the black guy that helped hook up the trailer was very pleasant and personable. And the beautiful young lady that checked the trailer in when I brought it back at 6:15 was exceptional! She was very nice, engaging in chitchat. Over all, it was a good experience.
Ricardo VillaBe a little more accurate with fuel levels. Contract said the truck was at 5/8 but was actually at 9/16. If I didn't take the time to check the actual level, I would have been stuck replacing gas I didn't use.

Elaina BaileyEngine / transmission sounded sketchy and may require maintenance, e.g. long hesitation to change gears even after reaching 4000+ rpm. After waiving fee for dolly and moving blankets, these items were included strapped to the wall anyways, taking up valuable space in the truck. Left mirror was angled downward and could not be adjusted; I had to hunch to get a clear view of cars at a distance behind me. Vehicle lacked modern comforts such as cruise control, power windows, power locks, auxiliary input to the sound system. Overall the vehicle seemed clean, but not well-maintained.
Benjamin KrugNot impressed at all. There was recent paving completed since I moved into the storage area. Absolutely no height restrictions signs posted preventing my moving company from accessing the unit. (I have pics that prove the condition at move out) pull string on door was rotted and broke. I had to boost my girlfriend up to reach it to shut the unit door. Also when speaking to anybody at the store make sure you get the persons name… I was told since I was a valued customer they would pro-rate the 3 weeks of unused time or even credit the whole month. When I spoke to Jarred the manager he said “we don’t typically do that.” So I paid the entire month amount for 5 days. Very disappointed considering even with U-Haul stock going to the moon over Covid era… they raise rent without a care in the world for those who are struggling. Just another entitled corporate fat cat. I would recommend Any place over UHaul.

Vernon ThompsonThe sign near the return booth says remain with the vehicle and someone will come check you in. But no one did. I was the only customer - it was a Friday evening - and sat there for 5-10 minutes before going inside. There were no customers in there either and the not busy clerk came out and checked me in. Maybe remove the sign if you're not going to come out when a vehicle arrives. Also, disappointed that U-haul did not honor my original reservation for a van in Canon City, requiring me to drive my own vehicle 100 miles (round trip) to pick up a van. If you don't have equipment in a location do not offer it on your website. By the time I was notified (less than 24 hours before I was to pick up) I didn't have many options.

He did not have one but quickly called Katie at reservation line and found me an enclosed trailer within 15 minutes of the location. I was highly impressed by Jason’s problem solving and Katie’s quick work locating equipment that made my trip best.

And for a customer based service yall need people who at least are somewhat friendly.
Lawrence HoeyI understand policy however I believe there should be some exceptions when it comes to weather. My hunny and I were taking the U-haul back during the snow storm over this past weekend we weren't expecting Sunday to be very icy we did leave extra early. On our way the street was backed up there was 3 cars that slid and crashed into a fire truck. There were other accidents due to road and weather conditions. When I called to inform that we are going to be a little late do to weather and road conditions I was told that we have a 15-30 min window or we will be charged another day. As well as on the way out of the U-haul I didn't know the road we had to take started construction which resulted us having to take a different route the milage went over what our expected milage was. It's just a bummer that we don't ever take that road and it looks like they just started construction so we had no way of knowing a long with having to find different routes due to weather and road conditions, which feels like we potentially got double charged. But what's done is done. The people there are there were very welcoming and lovely.

Since my change wasn't given back I concluded that the full cash amount that I had given would be applied to the full estimated charge of the rental truck. I was also told when I closed out my unit that the truck was all checked in and taken care of. There was no more charge. Then I get a phone call two days later and told that I still owe on the truck and that not the full amount that I had initially paid was applied to the estimate. So much for trusting.
Ruth KindreichIncrease customer service quality. There were at 2-3 people / employee whose behavior I did not like. These people are most certainly have no professional mannerism, does not seem like even care about that. I believe those people are biased and does not like minorities. Also the truck I got it has issues. It has wheel alignment problem. This vehicle is also really an old vehicle that they gave me, which I did not appreciate. My total experience is not positive at all.

Daniel Wyatt | Overall ExperienceThe facility is nice and new, no complaints. The only negative about the facility are the homeless people in the area. They force their way into the facility as you’re moving your stuff. They then wonder around and fill up all their water sources and pick through the sharing area. The worst part about my move was the truck. The 26ft truck was not safe to drive. As I drove down the rode the whole truck would shake almost uncontrollably. It damaged my dressers and all my big items that were touching each other. I wrapped most of my stuff in bubble wrap and plastic but it rubbed through my bubble wrap. It didn’t start shaking until I got to 40mph so on my initial drive to my house I couldn’t tell the front end was out of alignment. After I loaded the truck and first got on the highway I knew I messed up. I haven’t tested my tvs yet so I hope they work. When I say it shook I had to adjust the mirrors every stop. The truck was not safe things could have went way worse.

The door to the unit would slide back down to about 3 feet off the floor. I was repeatedly harassed by staff for having the door closed even though it wasn't closed. I felt as if they didn't want me there at all. I saw several units where people spent the entire day in the unit. My alarm system was never armed because I forgot to put my code into the pin pad several times, but the alarm never sounded when I opened the door. I was extremely disappointed with the way I was treated, the security of the facility and the outrageous price.

Was impressed when we received a call from the store inquiring about whether we were moving out and was able to do it conveniently over the phone. Cons: It seemed that no other employee was fully operational without the manager holding their hand. This was evident it was an ongoing issue as this appeared to be the case the multiple times we went in. (that must be miserable on both sides) This created a backlog every time you went into the office. We were unable to open both doors with our card when accessing our unit and moving things in and out but just had to bear with it because the office was backlogged due to the manager being the only one able to help anyone fully.

Public Storage offers somewhat better per-square-foot rates in facilities of at least equal quality, but I would not hesitate to recommend U-Haul Storage, especially to U-Haul vehicle renters.

We also went in to rent a 10 foot truck to move our belongings out one week before our next rent was due. They still showed we owed rent for the next month on their website. I contacted the store and he indicated he had a number of new employees. That still does not make it right and it was a huge inconvenience for me to have to contact them and tell them about it a THIRD time!

I got charged late fees several times, because the person at uhaul did not put my new card in. This happened twice. So, I had to pay late fees for something that was neglected on the side of the uhaul staff. I didn’t pursue it, because I knew I was leaving. Pretty frustrating from my end, because I was so diligent about being on top of my payments. Hope the next person doesn’t have the same issue.

I understand the concept of “first come , first serve.” I understand that u-haul has many people canceling or not showing up when there’s a reservation. What I don’t understand is if that’s how it’s done, why would should I reserve a storage if it’s not even going to be reserved for me? To reserve is to book in advance, to secure. If it’s not secure, why offer? I wish the u-haul company gave clientes a chance by giving us a time limit on our reservation and if we don’t show, our reservation is canceled immediately. But now I know what I know and I won’t be making any reservations, walk-ins is best when it comes to u-haul. But over-all service was average , good people and good customer service, just not very good at communications between different office locations. Either that or the system is lagging on its updates.

Originally reserved a truck and storage online for Thursday June 10th. it didn't apply the free 1st month so I called the next day, spoke with a Uhaul rep who applied the free month. Thursday came I went to get the storage and was told other people were ahead of me, even though the I was told it was mine. The person at Uhaul helped me move the truck reservation to Friday, and told me the Galley/ Academy location had a storage unit. since I needed the storage. The next day I called and asked for that location directly, they helped me get the storage... Later on Friday, I head to the new location for the storage, I was told the same thing, thankfully the guy working there was able to find something for me... Next I went to pick up the truck... When I got there and started to check out, I notice my reservation was cancelled... I call they get the reservation set back up, I go through the steps online, get the 4 digit code for the lock box... it doesn't work, I call the prompted number, tell the rep what happens, she puts me on hold, about 15 minutes on hold I decided to use the chat. That rep gives me a few codes to try and none of the work, I'm told I have to wait on the phone... by this time is almost a half hour. I continue to wait, call from a different line and I'm told they're closed... Waited about 45 minutes and finally hung up... after panicking about not being able to get my stuff, finally a rep calls me and after her apeaking with a manager she gets me a truck at a location pretty far away st 9:30 at night... (Tiffany was amazing by the way and very helpful, the only saving grace through this whole ordeal...) So to recap. Got the reservation for a truck and strorage for Thursday at 5:30. Wasn't able to get anything unil 9:30 on Friday... Absolutely worst experience Ive ever had... Except for Tiffany... she was the only saving grace for the whole experience...

First off my husband made the reservation under the trailer reservation we had made. The people at the center did not allow him to go to the unit the day he wanted to move things in after they allowed him to make the reservation. I had to call from out of state and put his name on everything before they let him store our items. When I called they fixed the issue for my husband but for some reason out the reservation on a different account I had made from my previous storing experience that I had forgot about. Because it was on a different account then it was supposed to be on we did not get any notifications about when the rent was due and ended up having a late payment that I had to go to the unit to pay. For the second month we had to pay we ended up with another late payment then they automatically withdrew the rent from my husbands bank account. I am at a complete loss how they were able to automatically withdrawal money the second time after I had to physically go to the unit to pay the first time and did not give them any information for the account they withdrew from. I am also confused as to how we had a late fee if rent was auto withdrawn.

I went to my unit in Dec. 2019 and discovered my lock was changed and the keys I had did not fit the lock. When I asked for assistance an employee did help me and agreed the keys were not for that lock. I was told I could not cut the lock nor could the staff and I would need to call a locksmith. I called back on Monday of that week and told more of the same they could not cut lock not could I and because the last time I went into my unit was back in Spring of 2019 they would not check the cameras because footage did not record that far back when I was making a complaint in Dec. By the time I was able to afford paying for a locksmith and paying for the storage unit it was March 2020. After the locksmith cut off the lock I discovered that my 2 new car tires and a ten speed bike were stolen. I had 70 DVDs that taken as well as some boxes with personal mementos to include a Christmas ornament collection I went there to get back in Dec. When I went to to the counter to tell the desk attended my items were stolen all he could say to me is he did not verify a locksmith was there and I could have cut the lock myself. If I was going to cut the lock myself it would not have taken months to do so. Instead of causing a scene because the were several customers waiting I went outside and called the police about the matter. The officer looked at the location, the unit and where the cameras were located. He did give me a call number for the call and stated that it may be difficult to located the items as the cameras do not show storage units but the doors and elevators. Later that week myself, son and daughter in law returned to the location and removed the remainder of my items. I put a lock on the unit until I could return to the location to talk with the store manager but received the run around for several weeks with her. I would call and be told she was not at the location that day or at that time. When I asked for a returned call that would never happen until they saw a lock that was not a U-Haul approved lock. When I called to discuss why can not get a returned call about my items being stolen and next steps but someone calls quickly about a different lock. The call I received was "Ms Stevens we were checking the units today and noticed you have an unauthorized lock on your unit, you have 24hrs to change the lock or we will cut it off and charge you for the cost to do that and replace the lock". I called the location and again asked about my stolen belongings and was told file an insurance claim and remove the lock. I said they can remove the lock I have moved what was left of my property out of the unit since March 16, 2020 . Close the account I would not be using them any longer. I was told fine that would be done I would be sent an follow up email which was never done until now. The only emails or regular mail that has been sent to me since were bills of mounting cost to pay for a storage unit that the letter say U-Haul will go in and recoup what ever property and close the account. I have said several times close the account I will not continue to pay U-Haul when they allowed my property to be stolen and could care less about my situation. Yes I have called Customer Service several times about this matter as well as 5 times to the actual location.

I went to check on unit and found that things were damaged and stolen from the unit. They fixed the door and painted. They took before and after pictures which clearly shows that someone broke in. Now there is a police investigation as a gun was one of the items stolen. Cameras are only on the entrance of the building and not throughout which makes it difficult to look at footage and determine who broke into my unit in order to press charges. Additionally, there’s an individual listed as my alternate POC that I have never met in my life. Was that hacked and tampered with as well? There’s no sense of urgency on UHauls behalf or common sense that you clearly inform individuals that the unit was burglarized not that is was not just routine maintenance. I thought storing items under a well known company would be great. I was clearly mistaken. Now an investigation is ongoing....

LaDonna Journey | Overall ExperienceThe lines at the front counter were almost always long so we had to wait 30+ minutes each time. The elevator was especially tiresome. They doors on the elevator were hard to open and close. Nearly every time you had to close doors downstairs, go upstairs and close the door so the elevator will move up to the second floor. The wire mesh over each unit allowed a lot of dust to get into our stuff. The access doors were narrow which made it hard to move large items in and out of the unit. Alarms went off frequently during the day.. One evening when we were in our unit with permission after hours the alarm went off and we had trouble leaving. The price is very expensive.Double what others charge. The rent is not prorated if you leave before your the paid month is up. The auto pay option is convenient. There are plenty of units and sizes available including indoor, outdoor and climate controlled.The staff are very friendly and quick when they help you.
