Retail Showroom, Self-Storage, Hitch Installations and Propane will also be available at 2800 Two Notch Road

COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 4, 2019) — U-Haul® is now operating out of a new repair shop at the former Ford® dealership at 2800 Two Notch Road in Columbia.

Columbia Repair will serve as a maintenance hub where U-Haul equipment is serviced. The shop will be tasked with assembling and maintaining engines, transmissions, rear axles and more. The property encompasses about 7.8 acres and three buildings totaling 90,000 square feet.

U-Haul acquired the property last October and opened the repair shop in January.

“This property brings with it so much opportunity,” explained Zakee Roberts, U-Haul Company of South Carolina president. “With a property this size, we are able to have our regional marketing company offices, our repair shop, and a U-Haul facility all in one place.”

Adaptive reuse of the Ford dealership will soon produce about 700 indoor self-storage units with climate-control options. Customers will also be able to access trucks and trailers, U-Box® portable storage containers, towing equipment and professional hitch installation, propane and much more.

Contact U-Haul Storage at Two Notch Road at (803) 807-2534 or stop by to see our progress. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday; and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Acquisition of the property was driven by U-Haul Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-building materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.

“We are eager to bring more jobs to this area and be part of the growth in Columbia,” Roberts added. “This building had been sitting empty, becoming an eyesore, so we stepped in to breathe life back into the property. Our neighbors are already stopping by to complement our hard work. We can’t wait to finish renovations.”
