U-Haul Buys Two Parcels for First Company-Owned Store in Methuen
METHUEN, Mass. (April 9, 2019) — U-Haul® is revealing details for its adaptive reuse of two buildings that will be transformed into the Company’s first full-service facility in Methuen.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Methuen at 99 Pleasant Valley St. plans to open a temporary showroom in time for the upcoming summer moving season to offer truck and trailer sharing as well as moving supplies.
U-Haul acquired the 13.32-acre property on Feb 14. The retail showroom and first phase of self-storage will be located in the 27,566-square-foot building that previously housed Verizon®. Self-Storage and other operations will be located in the adjacent 172,000-square-foot building at 145 Milk St.
Extensive renovations to the property will render more than 800 climate-controlled self-storage units, approximately 100 drive-up self-storage units and gated RV storage with high-tech security features and U-Haul Remote 24/7® access. Towing accessories and professional hitch installation, propane, U-Box® moving and portable storage containers, and more will soon be available.
While U-Haul Moving & Storage of Methuen is being renovated, customers can contact U-Haul of Lawrence at (978) 688-4598 to have their moving needs met. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

When the store is fully operational, Chase expects to employ at least 15 Team Members. U-Haul will look to hire locally to support job growth within the Methuen community.
