Meet Dan Flatten, U-Haul Marketing Company President of the new U-Haul Company of Eastern Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. - (Mar. 13, 2014) An extremely proud Dan Flatten recently accepted his promotion to marketing company president (MCP) of the new U-Haul Company of Eastern Oregon. He is excited to put his mind to the test for the company he loves working for.

With more than 11 years of experience, Flatten says he still learns something new every day. Excited about the opportunities that come with accepting his new role, Flatten is ready to take on new challenges and projects while at the same time helping his team members grow.

Flatten began his U-Haul career in January 2003 as a customer service representative (CSR) at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Bend. He also served as a CSR at U-Haul at West 7th and U-Haul at Powell Blvd. before being promoted to general manager (GM) of U-Haul Moving and Storage of Foster Road in July 2005. Shortly thereafter Flatten was promoted to reservation manger at U-Haul Company of Portland, and then went on to serve as GM for U-Haul Moving and Storage at Andersen Road, U-Haul Moving and Storage at Clackamas Town Center and U-Haul Moving and Storage of Tigard. In February 2013, Flatten transferred to area field manager (AFM) for U-Haul Company of Portland, the position he held until his recent promotion. As MCP of U-Haul Company of Eastern Oregon, Flatten will oversee all operations including truck, trailer and storage rentals. His wealth of U-Haul knowledge and ability to lead certainly will help the new company reach high levels of achievement.

“U-Haul Company of Eastern Oregon is top notch,” Flatten proclaimed. “I look forward to expanding on an already-great group of people by working closely with them and promoting a high level of communication.  Learning from each other—about what works and what doesn't—will raise our level of customer service and performance.”

With a strong belief that customers always come first, Flatten strives to do what is best for them by listening to their needs and acting quickly to fulfill them. He will hold all of his team members to the same standard by promoting a higher level of customer service while reducing customer objections.

Looking to the future, Flatten plans on growing the U-Haul dealer network and new U-Haul locations. Although he says this may be the most challenging thing for him, Flatten’s hard work, enthusiasm and U-Haul knowledge surely will enable him to achieve his goals.
