U-Haul Names Toronto as the Number One Canadian Destination City for 2013
PHOENIX (April 10, 2014) — The annual U-Haul 2013 Canadian Destination Cities Report is in. According to moving data reflective of nationwide statistics for calendar year 2013, Toronto took back the No. 1 spot this year, with Calgary taking the No. 2 rank and Edmonton coming in at No. 3.
“Since 1955, U-Haul has built a long and proud history of helping families move and store their belongings, throughout Canada,” stated John “J.T.” Taylor, president, U-Haul International, Inc. “Now more than ever, we are proud to provide Canadian families with a larger selection of moving and self-storage locations. This makes for a shorter distance to travel when moving, which has the positive effect of reducing the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere while saving money for our customers.”
The ranking reflects destinations for movers renting a truck one way and considers every city in the country, regardless of size. However, the data is not stated as a percentage of population and is not reflective of overall growth.
Did you know…The annual mileage of North American U-Haul trucks, trailers and auto-transport would move a family to the moon and back again more than 9.9 times per day, every day of the year and could also travel around the Earth more than 177 times per day, every day of the year.
