Mark Buford Named ADVP for District 26

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Feb. 3, 2016) — Mark Buford II has come full circle. After working in Arizona for the past 13 years, he’s headed back to central California as he takes on his new position as area district vice president (ADVP) for District 26.

Buford’s U-Haul career started in 1993 as a center general manager trainee for U-Haul Moving & Storage of Mountain View (Co.707) in Fremont, CA. Within that same year he became the general manager for the store in San Jose (707-69). After only three months, Buford was promoted to general manager of the Mountain View store. In 1996 Buford became area field manager (AFM) back in Fremont. His latest role has been U-Haul marketing company president (MCP) of Northern Arizona (Co.858).

“I feel extremely blessed to take this new position and give back to California,” Buford said. “This is where my roots are as I was born in the San Joaquin valley, so it truly has come full circle.”

Buford considers his new promotion a challenge- an opportunity to work even harder and build upon what his fellow team members have already created. As ADVP for District 26, Buford will be in charge of overseeing the central California area. He sees the potential to build on an already strong foundation.

“There are exceptional managers in place already and I feel lucky to work with such excellent people,” Buford added. “I look forward to helping them bring more dealers into the U-Haul network as well as add more storage locations.”

He is an enthusiastic, mature manager who gets things done. I have no doubt he will be successful in his new position of leading an entire district.”
