Rod Tape Named MCP of U-Haul Company of Georgia Northeast

OAKWOOD, Ga. (Feb. 12, 2016) — Rod Tape has been named marketing company president of the new 879, U-Haul Company of Georgia Northeast.

U-Haul executive vice president Bob Willson and area district vice president Doug Weston announced the promotion. Tape started in his new role on Feb. 11.

“The MCP position is a goal that I had set for myself earlier in my U-Haul career,” Tape said. “I was extremely excited to be awarded the position. Atlanta is one of the fastest growing companies within the U-Haul company and this is due to the hard work and efforts made by the entire team here in Atlanta.

“I look forward to expanding the business relationships that U-Haul has established through our independent dealer network and, most importantly, stick to our primary service objective by providing a better and better product and service to more and more people at a lower and lower cost.”

Tape most recently served as a productive area field manager for 763, U-Haul Company of Western Georgia. His U-Haul career began in 2000 as a customer service representative and hitch professional for U-Haul at Florida State University. He was quickly promoted to general manager. He later relocated to U-Haul Company of Atlanta South where he was general manager at U-Haul Moving & Storage of College Park.

As MCP of 879, Tape wants to build on the solid foundation already in place and ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented throughout the Northeast Atlanta region.

“Rod has demonstrated strong leadership as a center manager by consistently making the top 100 in storage, as well as achieving dealer standards month after month as an AFM,” Weston said. “We look forward to Rod’s leadership as the new company president of 879.”
