U-Haul Moving & Storage of Lafayette Closes

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Feb. 29, 2016) — The U-Haul store location at 301 Sagamore Pkwy. S. ceased U-Haul operations last week.

U-Haul opened for business at this location in March 2015. The 11,870-square-foot facility was built in 1950 and previously housed a Hostess Bakery outlet.

Local U-Haul Companies are always exploring opportunities for growth but sometimes close or relocate stores for reasons such as shifts in demographics, trends in migration, physical plant limitations, expansion of the U-Haul neighborhood dealer network, and the proximity of new or existing U-Haul stores.

The desire to better meet customer needs through product and service offerings played a role in the decision to close U-Haul Moving & Storage of Lafayette, according to area district vice president Bill Rains.

U-Haul customers in Lafayette and neighboring communities can find a full range of moving and self-storage offerings in the immediate vicinity at U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Street at 3861 South Street.

There are four U-Haul neighborhood dealers in Lafayette and West Lafayette ready to serve do-it-yourself movers: Spurlock Ent., Inc. (601 Farabee Drive); Dark Horse Logistics (3131 Newcastle Road); Arrows III Adventures, Inc. (2888 State Road 25 N.); and Wabash Valley Feed & Western Wear (2781 Klondike Road).
