Arkansas Disaster Relief: 30 Days Free Self-Storage, U-Box to Storm Victims

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 11, 2016) — U-Haul Company of Arkansas is offering 30 days free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents of Little Rock, North Little Rock, Sherwood, Pine Bluff and surrounding communities who have been impacted by the ongoing storms and flooding.

Central areas of Arkansas have sustained street and neighborhood flooding as creeks and rivers have overflowed from heavy rains. Since the rain began Tuesday, many locations have gotten up to 10 inches and are expecting another 2-5 before the storm system passes.

“U-Haul is concerned about displaced families, and families affected by the heavy rains and flooding in any way,” said Ken Vadnais, U-Haul Company of Arkansas president. “We want them to know that we are here to help these communities put their lives back together after these types of disasters.”

Seven U-Haul locations are participating in the 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box. Families needing more information about the self-storage assistance should contact the following U-Haul store nearest you:

U-Haul also can store a U-Box container in our secure warehouses or have it picked up and delivered to a location of your choice.

U-Haul stores offer needed supplies to help with storm recovery like boxes, tarps, propane and propane tanks. U-Haul urges customers to ensure their tanks are topped off since propane is good to have in the event of long-term power outages.
