Adaptive Reuse: Springdale Welcomes U-Haul Storage at S. 40th St.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (Aug. 9, 2016) — U-Haul has acquired and renovated the former Isaac’s Storage facility at 767 S. 40th St. to bring additional U-Haul self-storage options to residents of Northwest Arkansas.

U-Haul Storage at S. 40th St. is less than four miles from its parent store, U-Haul Moving & Storage of Springdale, which has been serving the community since 1994. This recent acquisition will offer a much-needed solution to the self-storage demands of U-Haul customers.

“Our self-storage occupancy is close to 100 percent at the parent store,” U-Haul Company of Tulsa president Jim Smith said. “We needed another facility, and this location is perfect because it allows us to conveniently serve western Springdale in a way that we couldn’t before.”

The 38,548-square-foot addition on 2.43 acres offers 301 self-storage units. U-Haul customers have several self-storage options, including indoor climate-controlled and outdoor drive-up units. All self-storage units can be rented online anytime from any smartphone, tablet or computer.

“Self-storage is meant to be convenient,” Smith explained. “Having the 24-hour access and self-move-in available will just make moving and storing easier. If a family arrives at its new home late on a Sunday night with extra belongings they need stored in a safe and secure location, these units will be there when they need them.”

Call (479) 751-0261 to reach U-Haul Storage at S. 40th St., or stop by the parent store at 806 Twin City Ave. to learn more about self-storage options. The new facility is open all day, every day. Reserve equipment anytime at uhaul.com or contact Reservations at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.

The acquisition of the Springdale property was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
