U-Haul Company of Southern Minnesota Expands U-Haul Self-Storage Operations with the Purchase of TC Self Storage
BURNSVILLE, Minn. — (Aug. 21, 2012) U-Haul Company of Southern Minnesota recently announced that it has expanded the U-Haul network of self-storage locations with its purchase of an existing Minnesota storage facility located at 12200 Portland Avenue in Burnsville, Minnesota. The new U-Haul Moving and Storage at Highway 13 and Portland Avenue features a three-story self-storage building offering more than 390 storage rooms, with more than 47,530 square feet of net rentable self-storage.
U-Haul Moving and Storage at Highway 13 and Portland Avenue features indoor, temperature-controlled storage as well as outdoor, drive-up storage. The facility also will feature U-Box containers for moving and storage. With a U-Box container, you can conveniently pick up our custom-designed trailer and take your U-Box container with you. After you fill up the U-Box container, we can store it for you in our secure warehouse or deliver it to a location of your choice.

The new U-Haul Moving and Storage at Highway 13 and Portland Avenue will showcase 24-hour security with electronically controlled access, state-of-the-art digital video surveillance, your lock/your key, FREE use of storage carts, no deposit or administration fees, a convenient credit-card payment plan and available low-cost Safestor Protection to help safeguard customers’ personal possessions.
U-Haul Moving and Storage at Highway 13 and Portland Avenue also will be selling a wide variety of environmentally friendly packing supplies: boxes made out of recyclable materials, 100 percent biodegradable packing peanuts and moving pads made from recycled denim. Also on site will be a Take a Box/Leave a Box display, which allows customers or anyone in the community to leave moving boxes or unwanted electronics boxes for another customer to reuse for free, instead of throwing them away or recycling them.
Customers who rent a U-Haul moving van, trailer or a U-Box moving and self-storage container for a one-way move can receive one month of free storage before or after their move.
