Outdoor Fun for Memorial Day

May 20, 2014

Memorial Day weekend is almost here so it’s time to get out and have some fun in the sun! Here are a few activities you can do to have outdoor fun for Memorial Day:

Tubing

Memorial Day is about honoring those who have fallen in the line of duty but it is also a weekend to soak up the sun with friends and family. Heading out to the nearest river for some tubing fun is the perfect way to cool off. When tubing remember to stay hydrated, wear loads of sunscreen, and don’t forget the food. You can tie a cooler with snacks and water onto a tube with a rope. You can also tie all your friends’ tubes together so that way the current doesn’t separate someone from the group!

Jet Skiing and Boating

Another way to cool off this Memorial Day weekend is to head out to the nearest lake for some jet skiing or boating. Make sure to have your jet ski trailer or boating secure onto your truck or SUV with the appropriate hitch. To be sure you pick the right one for your vehicle check out our Select-A-Hitch!  If you do not own a jet ski, look for rentals at a dock near your lake.

Camping

If you want to catch some tranquility and spend quality time with your family then camping is perfect for your outdoor fun this Memorial Day weekend. Pack up your tent, clothes and food and head towards your nearest national park or beach if you prefer beach camping. If you are doing a longer camping trip with a large family or group of friends you should consider renting a sporting trailer instead of cramming all your friends in a truck with your camping equipment for several hours. Be sure to purchase the correct hitch for any trailer or boat you might take with you on your camping trip. And don’t forget to have fun!
