Living in Las Vegas 2

Despite what you may think, Las Vegas is not just for tourists.  The suburbs are a quick 15 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip.  With great weather, an array of choices for things to do outside of work and increasing opportunities in the job market, it is no wonder people are moving to Las Vegas!  Below is some information about what to expect when considering living in Las Vegas.

Housing

The housing market in Las Vegas hit a rough patch during the recession.  Those days are behind Vegas now and the market is growing again.  The housing market now boasts an average housing cost of about 5% over the national average.  For more information on the recent growth check out Trulia.  Storage is sometimes needed after a move for seasonal items or other items that are taking up too much space in the garage.  Check out self storage options here.

Where to Live

The most popular neighborhoods in the Las Vegas area are Las Vegas proper, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor, Summerlin South and Winchester.  These great neighborhoods prove that Vegas is much like any other city, offering a lifestyle great for families.

Good Eats

Many famous chefs have made the Las Vegas Strip their home for great restaurant concepts.  When you think of Vegas food, you probably think of buffets and great steak.  While that is true, it is hard to find a bad food option in Vegas.

Try Andiamo Steakhouse for a steak option loved by locals!  They are known for their Italian flare and great pastas in addition to their steak.  Honey Salt is also a go-to for locals, offering great farm-to-table menu items that impress all!  If you would like something a little more spicy, try La Comida for great Mexican food.  For a restaurant made famous by movies with great breakfasts and sandwiches, stop by the Peppermill.  For more help on chLiving In LVoosing where to eat, visit this article.

Entertainment

When it comes to entertainment, Vegas does it right.  Las Vegas boasts that it is the entertainment capital of the world, ignoring the fact that NYC might put up an argument!  Where else can you see JLO, Britney and Mariah live within a 4.2 mile stretch?  If divas are not your thing take advantage of the many plays, Cirque acts and magic shows.

If you are not interested in spending money, do not fret!  Vegas has fountains that dance, volcanoes that erupt and the best people watching around!  For those more daring throw it all on red and gamble until your pockets are empty or you own the casino you are visiting.  Whatever you decide to do in your free time, the chances are you will enjoy every minute.

Sports

Living in Las Vegas will give you the opportunity to be a spectator at the annual NCAA Bowl Game and many NASCAR events at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. If you enjoy a more physical sport, go to
one of the boxing or mixed martial arts matches and learn how legends are made.

Living in Las Vegas offers such variety in everything from food, entertainment and sports while still providing a great lifestyle for everyone. In short, Las Vegas is the best of both worlds.  Live it up while living in Las Vegas!
