Mesa, AZ Moving Tips & Services

Bordered by Tempe, the Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Chandler and Gilbert, Mesa is the third largest city in Arizona, with over 440,000 individuals who call this desert city home. Mesa is a part of the Sonoran Desert, which makes it normal to have temperatures surpass one hundred degrees Fahrenheit. However, many come into the Valley of the Sun from October to May to escape harsh winters since Arizona is known for having almost perfect weather outside of summer. As you get accustomed to the city and the weather, you’ll discover a wealth of things to do. Mesa is home to stunning golf courses, upscale shopping, and delicious dining options. In downtown Mesa, you’ll encounter a vibrant area of antique shops, boutiques, museums, and more. In the area is the award-winning Mesa Arts Center, which contains a museum, provides classes, and hosts numerous events throughout the year such as the Miss Arizona and Miss Teen Arizona beauty pageants. So, if you can handle a few months of higher temperatures to enjoy its finest climate, you'll find that Mesa is a wonderful place to live.

  • Beat the Heat – Arizona in general is known for its hot weather. Avoid moving into the city from May through August, as this is when the heat reaches its peak. It is highly recommended to be prepared with some water and sunscreen, especially if you are planning to be outdoors. Despite the high temperature season, visitors are attracted to the low humidity, dry heat, and clean air of the desert.
  • Going Places – Arizona grows outwards instead of upwards, making it quite difficult to get around without a vehicle as places are not close by compared to other big cities. Public transportation, such as bus transportation and the light rail, could be of good use in certain areas of the city. Although the light rail does not cover the whole city of Mesa, an ongoing project of extending it throughout the center of Mesa is set to be ready by 2016, allowing more access to shops, restaurants, museums and more from Mesa all the way to Phoenix!
  • Center of It All – Mesa is in close proximity to the Indian Reservation, Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, and other cities; you have easy access to not only the amenities that Mesa has to offer but also those of the neighboring towns. If you’re willing to venture a little further out, you’ll be able to reach San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Mexico within a half day’s drive. You also have access to three lakes, two rivers, and endless hiking trails. Salt River Tubing is a popular option to cool you down during the summer.
  • Airport – The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only fifteen minutes away by car and an hour and fifteen minutes by public transit. The free PHX Sky Train has recently been completed and opened to the public. The train runs 24/7 and connects individuals between the 44th St and Washington Light Rail stop in Phoenix and the East Economy parking area near Terminal 4. There is also the reliever airport, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, in southeastern Mesa, a former Air Force Base, which you can use as an alternate travel hub.
