I had a terrible experience with Uhaul rental. I had a truck booked for 0830 (which was confirmation). I went to pick it up and was told that it was located at a different location. So, drove to the second location to pick up the truck. I attempted to do the online self pick up, but it would not let me in, so I changed my password and tried again, but it still wouldn't let me in. I called the 1-800 number which put me on hold. I was able to get hold of the dispatch gentleman, John, who was a decent guy. He assisted me to access the key to the truck, but there was NO key; so he set me up with yet another location to get a truck, and he directed me to call the 1-800 number to assist with access to the next vehicle upon my arrival at that location. We drove to the third location and got put on hold, 40 minutes later, I was still on hold. In tears, I contacted this John fellow who assisted me with accessing the key to get on my way. By this time, it was now after 1000 am ( more than an 1 1/2 hours later just to pick up the truck!!!). Meanwhile, I have two hired men for the moving of content who are getting paid to sit in the heat with me, not to mention that I had a deadline to pickup the content ( which the lady ended up being late for her job bc of my delay with Uhaul). When we finally got in the vehicle, there was crumbs of food on the dash, pair of tweezers, and gum wrapper on the seat, but at this point, I didn't care. The gas gauge was below 1/4 tank, so I had to put gas in it. When I returned the vehicle to the same location, I made sure that there was the same amount of gas in the vehicle as when I picked up the vehicle ( but I got charged for not having it at 1/4 tank). Also when I returned it, I was not able to use the self check out app because it wanted me to return it to one of the other locations that had been on my file. It was a terrible experience, that ended up costing me more than double ( between the penalty for not gassing up the vehicle and for the two men that I had waiting around while I had NO vehicle). I give much appreciation to the gentleman named John, but I will NEVER utilize UHaul ever again. An absolute terrible service!!!!! NEVER again!Marion A.

Insurance was added to my rental without asking ! I noticed it when I came back to return the vehicle! And when I asked for it to be removed becase my credit card already has coverage! I was told it wasnt possible to be removed anymore!!Krunal P.

There was an issue with our photo submission and with data entry, several pieces of information and our liscence photo needed to be submitted twice - software improvements might be in order. Great people at Joe's Garage, very helpful.Velvet R.

The pick up was ok, however, the location was in Owen Sound, and it was a 1.7 hour drive in a snow and ice storm. If I was renting from u haul in the future, I would expect a much more convenient location, considering I booked almost a month in advance.Walter B.

The truck was generally clean although I did find an empty sandwich container under the seat and there was no winter scraper brush. The truck worked fine and even started in Winnepeg at -34 C. I ordered a furniture dolly and utility dolly and 36 blankets. The blankets were hap hazardlly bagged and only ended up getting 30 in the six plastic bags. This location did not have the two dollies that I paid for. The fellow there said he was going to refund me the cost of the dollies but he admitted he wasn't sure he knew how to do that and I have not seen the refund yet. Anyways as I said the truck worked great in various weather conditions and know Joe's looks after the mechanical aspect of the trucks well. When I dropped the truck off in Leduc I explained the situation with dollies and blankets and I assume they talked to Joe's today to confirm as I was not charged anything extra for shortage of blankets or dollies. I have ordered a dolly before for previous rental and pick up spot did not have one then either but they refund me for it. Overall I am generally happy and the job got done and I had enough help that the lack of dollies wasn't a problem.Andrew S.

Should be more clearer what to do with key , I was told to put key in truck if u didn't see drop bix ! I did not see one , saw a regular mailbox so I put in truck as instructed n locked !!!! THIS IS TORONTO SO I DIDNT KEAVE TRUCK OPEN TYSTS UUS STUPID !! So I paid enough money plus 100$ deposit that I lost because instructions were not clear to leave in truck ( to get stolen) than who's liable me - I think not !!!!!Melanie A.

The high beams didn't work on our truck so we had to alter our plans to not drive after dark. So just keep that in mind when checking the trucks.amy B.

they sent us away without a plug for the trailer lights and every time we asked a question they just kept saying we only hand out the equipment. the cord for plugging the lights into the truck was missing and they did not have one had to drive 30 min to Moose Jaw and to the all secure storage without signal or brake lights on the trailerDEANNA B.

Our first location pick was to be in Collingwood location. we booked a month in advance. Then the day before pick up they didn't have the truck for us so they gave us Joe's Garage in Owen Sounds about 2 more hours away we had to drive.For the next customer call in a day or so to make sure your truck is there and ready to go. That was my only complaint.Jamie S.
No problems with the pickup or drop-off location per se. Move went well overall. Had troubles locating the odometer as it would only appear on the console for ~10 seconds after the drivers door had been closed. Experienced issues prior to move day with Uhaul and the system as I was on the phone for ~4 hours trying to fix cost and mileage issues.KYLEJULIUS H.
Cut this location and stop messing around with pick up locations - move vehicles to the chosen location like any reasonable rental company. I should not have to call corporate every time I want to rent a truck or trailer. U-Haul has become self-parody as a money-grubbing corporation cutting corners on infrastructure and customer experience. You used to provide a useful service.Brenden M.
The equipment should be inspected throughly when returned. The trailer I was to use had a broken safety chain. It was repair promptly when I reported it before I departed. The unit had gravel all along the running rails which could have bounced off and cased damage to vechiles following me. It should have been cleaned prior to me arriving.DANIEL L.

Headlights were not adjusted/ wrong bulb / wrong fit. Windshield wipers were old and hard, not winter worthy. Truck had no outside temperature sensor / display. Truck had no cruise control. Seats / settings were very uncomfortable for me at 6' 5" height.Christian P.

Return process of vehicle after hours was not clear. Including instructions to do so on the receipt only after pick up of vehicle is very unhelpful to people who are obviously busy moving, so who has time to read the fine print or a video online ? Go through the return process with person at time of pick up, to save stress.Diana J.

The truck was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL to drive. I have never driven something so terrible. It was a 26 foot truck. It felt like I was driving something with absolutely no suspension and shot spark plugs. It felt like there was a belt loose in the tire and the whole truck shook and jerked like crazy. This wasn't fun for the 450 kms I had to drive it. Absolutely the worst experience but the man who owned the garage where I picked it up was really nice. I will definitely never get another truck from U-Haul again. And will not recommend to ANYONELeah M.
