Incredibly inconvenient location. Very unhappy with U-Haul and their handling of my reservation. Generally unhelpful attendant when there was a problem with my truck being available for pick up. He left it all up to me to figure out an alternative plan by calling local U-Haul rather trying to be of any assistanceEric G.
It is at a good location, because it is not far from my home, and on my way to where I wanted to go. But I thought the price to rent it was a bit much. And, of course, I was glad to get a small refund, because I didn't use up all the mileage.Joan B.

The trailer is nearing the end of it's service life, rusted and degraded surfaces at least one safety chain attachment location was rusted through and broken. The pickup location is literally in the middle of no where, almost an hour drive from my requested pickup location and that's 1 way. The U haul counter in a run down convenience store consisted of a laptop and printer. There was absolutely no other evidence that it was a uhaul location except a few trailers parked outside. I've rented from U-Haul 3 time's in the past 2 months and not a single time was the equipment located at my reservation location.Shannon C.

I had to drive to Franklin from Chesapeake to pickup a truck reserved several days prior. When contacted by U-Haul a day or two before my move I was left with no other choice but to drive over an hour away to get a truck in the size my move required. This location was way off the beaten path, in a somewhat run down convenience store. The clerk was polite and professional but the store was not the cleanest.Joel D.

It wasn't the location I had issues with he was great and made sure I got what I needed. It was the scheduling service that bothered me. I reserved 2 trucks and they rented them both out after I reserved them. I was furious. I had to search for the right size truck a day before my move in. I called customer service and they got me straight and gave me a $50 discount which was also great. However, when I got to the location the discount number wasn't working so I had to wait an hour until I got someone on the phone to fix the issue. The location guy was great once again but I will not be using the Uhaul company after this stressful experience.SHANEQUA B.

Got hit for a cleaning charge for no reason. Truck was clean. Since I dropped off before they opened its my word against theirs. I guess you have to get an extra $25 from people. Again, not the most convenient(or safest) location to drop off. I really think they ripped me off on the cleaning charge.Richard B.

I requested a dolly with the truck. There was not one there when I picked it up. There was no one at the rental site when I picked up or dropped off the truck. I messaged through the checkout system let them know it wasn't there so I wouldn't be charged for it. After returning the truck, I was still charged for the dolly. I tried to call the 1800 number but there was a 60 minute wait. I selected the option to be called back. Over an hour later when I was called back, No one ever answered on the other end and the call dropped. The cost of the dolly is not a big deal. I'm really just glad I wasn't charged for not returning it. It is just frustrating that I had to find a dolly somewhere else that morning and more frustrating trying to get in contact with someone.Andrew M.

The rental was great at Meadows Express. What wasn't great is that you the company uhaul had the business Ace Hardware in Franklin VA as a Uhaul rental location in which its not. You allowed me to book a reservation for that location. When I got there they told me that they nolonger rent out uhauls. Thankfully I was able to find another location on a Sunday morning. You need to update your data base for that location. You could really ruin someone's day and your image.Michael R.

Well - when we went to drop it off, the location that was one that could be chosen was no longer accepting rentals. So we had to drive somewhere else to drop off the truck. I also found it frustrating that we only had the truck for a day and a half and there was no way to be compensated for having the truck for less time than 4 days. The company benefits from being able to rent my truck to someone else. It makes me feel like keeping the truck just so it can't be rented since there's not benefit to us. There were some other things and if you really are interested in knowing how to improve service please feel free to actually call me I believe you have our phone numbers on file.Craig B.

We rented a truck for $39.99 a day and the mileage rate was $1.29 which was outrageous . Even the person who helped us with our truck had us call to verify the price . What should have costed us about $140.00 ended up costing us $100 more. The last time we used a uhaul truck it was a disaster . Being sent all over for a truck which supposed to be ready for us . Now this time we are charged way to much. Never again will we use uhaul nor will we ever recommend it to anyone . It's apparent uhaul is only about the almighty dollar raising the mileage rates so overly excessive ...Shannon B.

The place looked like a bad truck stop but with no gas pumps so I couldn't gas up Also my wife and I really needed to use the restroom and We were not allowed to use the use even though I could see them and they seemed fine . The attendant was very rudeRichard W.

First of be open at the time you advertise. Was scheduled to open at 10 AM and didn't arrive until 10:30 AM. I was delayed 30 minutes picking up the truck because of the attendant arriving late. Since my initial request time was for 8 AM, this means I started my move 3 1/2 hours late.FREDWERICK H.

When a customer orders moving pads look ahead of time instead of waiting until the customer arrives to tell them that you do not have any. I was delayed over an hour between the store owner arriving 15 minuets late to having to drive 6 miles down the road for the moving pads then having to drive back afterwards. this location was already 30 miles out of the way to begin with. Also as a customer I booked this uhaul months in advance only to be notified the day before pick up where to go that itself is unsat to do to customers. Since I called months in advance i should have been able to pick a closer location, what if this location did not have the truck i needed, the next location that had it would be Richmond which is over 60 miles away.JAMES W.

My dropoff experience was a nightmare, and it's a shame because it's completely turned me off from U-haul. The rental was due Sunday, 10/6 at 12:00pm. Therefore, I dropped it off around 11am that day. The location that Uhaul GAVE ME to drop off the truck was not only closed for the day, but was closed several days! Therefore, I kept getting phone calls telling me that the truck should be returned, even though it was sitting on their lot with the keys in the dropbox as scheduled! Then, to top everything off, even though I left the truck with MORE gas than when I picked it up (I left with over 5/8 when parked at location)...they registered as a half a tank and I was charged for a refill!!! What a joke! And best of all, this location's phone number does not even work!!! They won't answer and then there's a long tone and it cuts you off. Tired of fighting Uhaul, so not even bothering with a refund for the gas. All very frusterating!CAMERON W.
