The workers at this location are extremely rude. Although they arent doing much when you come in, they make you wait up to 30 mins for assistance. Ive watched a member sit at his desk for 20 mins slowly clicking on things until he was able to help, and when he did help he was very rude. Only one person there was nice and i do apologize for forgetting his name but everyone even the store manager is extremely rude. I used a moving truck from this location on 7/20 and i dropped off the vehicle 15 minutes late, I didnt even close it out on my app but i reached out in the morning and one of the virtual members told me i wouldnt have to worry about extra payments but two days later they charged me $198 which i then had to call your customer support line and they investigated and cleared those charges. This location is the worst uhaul ive ever been to. Window handle on truck was broken and I was double charged. U-Haul makes it very difficult to reach someone for support. When it comes to scheduling a rental it's easy but once my money has been taken "after purchase" support is non existent with 50 minute wait times on hold and ZERO option for a call back request.Ben A.

My packed U-Boxes are enroute at the moment. I am worried a bit about the condition of the second box. It seemed old and damaged and I'm worried it's going to leak a lot. We did self delivery and only saw the condition when we got it to where we were packing. We did not have time to switch it out. I'm annoyed the guy at uhaul didn't give us a better box. The Uhaul was dirty when I picked it up. The trunk was littered with garbage and the cigarette holder in the front was filled with used cigarettes. I also got on the road 40 minutes after my scheduled pick up time because the side mirror was only attached by Duct tape and needed to be replaced. Great employees who were very helpful.Stewart K.

The location was closed almost10 minutes early when the sign clearly says they closed at 8pm. It wouldn't have been an issue if I didn't need to speak with any employee regarding an issue with rental. Another customer was there as well trying to get there wallet from another rental.WINTER W.
The truth is that I didn't like how they treated me, you had to wait because they couldn't find the keys of the car that I wanted to rent until more than 30 minutes passed when they told us we'd give them the copies of the keys and when I entered the car I gave off a smell to pipi that I had to keep the windows open and another very important thing, they should keep their bans well checked because the one with the brakes no longer had, it took a long time to stop and I had to drive very slowly, so they should take care of thatvictor P.

I had a long wait when I arrived for pickup because there was just one attendant who was busy trying to solve a problem with the customer before me. When I finally got the truck, the one assigned to me had not been fully cleaned and it made a beeping noise that the workers couldn't turn off, so we did get a replacement. The pickup took a very long time (my son and I missed the movie we were planning to see) and seemed like the problem may just be that the location was understaffed. Let me start off by saying the owner who stepped in was super nice and helpful. However, they didn't have the tow dolly after I called U-Haul to confirm that my equipment was ready. Instead, they sent me to a different location 30 minutes away to pick up the tow dolly (I did the math and this cost me around $24 in gas), or at least I wish they did, because the address they told me to go to was nowhere near the actual U-Haul site*. Also, the truck they gave me was way in the back (impossible to find, let alone get out), and I had to go back in and get a new reservation closer to the front. In addition, the front desk was run extremely slowly. It took me a whole 90 minutes before I got out the door at this location, and that's not counting all the extra time and hassle driving my U-Haul around LA trying to find a tow dolly with a dead phone. *This was mostly an issue with U-Haul corporate. I got a text saying to go to 964 S La Brea, which brought me to a random gas station 30 minutes from the actual location. U-Haul needs to update the instructions so that this doesn't keep happening to people--the owner at the second location said that happened to her customers all the time.Aitan G.

Service provided by rep was unprofessional, chatting on the phone and with other customers while working in my rental. Fuel gauge on the van was not working properly as it had incorrect level of fuel. Brought this to the attention of the staff with picture as support and was told I was not going to be charged for any fuel because of the faulty gauge. Overall this rental was an ordeal. It's not this locations fault but they're the ones listed. The trailer I rented was suppose to be dropped off at a different location and according to the location that had it the customer received approval from u-hall to go ahead and drop it off at this location without reviewing what type of impact this would have for the next customer. It may have been a difference of 5 miles although I was coming from a distance and was not informed until right before my scheduled pickup time. This was time consuming and a waste of fuel. Once I arrived at the location I had to wait 45min while the one person helped a costumer book a truck and then decided to rent a storage unit again very frustrating I spent over two weeks chasing down this trailer because uhall won't relocate trailers to selected location even when given ample time frame. In addition to these problem was the sudden price increase once a trailer became available more than double the price. While the staff was very pleasant, there was a random alert on my account. The gentlemen couldn't give me the number to call so I had to call Uhaul to get a customer service number and then wait and wait to work out there was no issues with my account at all! This took an hour to sort out. Which after driving all day wasn't welcome. Then I selected a size that I was told online was appropriate for my room size of goods. Instead, I was told I needed a much bugger size, which while accurate was triple the cost I was expecting. Then after everything was sorted out, my card didn't work, so that was another trip to the front. You guys didn't have the dolly I needed for my couch and I think couldn't find my locker because your numbering system was completely odd to me. So it was 6 pm, II had been there 2 hours and I hadn't moved anything and just found my unit. A free month or not I decided to not move in. Please cancel my contract. I reserved online for mobile pickup and my truck was not pulled out or ready for me- the attendant gave me the keys and sent me to find it myself which was stuck in the back blocked in by numerous other trucks. I prepaid for a van and dolly for pickup. There was only one staff member at the pickup location present and she was frantically looking for support to no avail. There were only two customers ahead of me and it took almost an hour to get the keys. I did not get the dolly I paid for and mentioned at the front desk. Returning the van after hours: I made sure I had the proper instructions for returning the van after hours, reading the directions online and checking with the employee at the desk. Upon returning the van and following the instructions on the uhaul app, it repeatedly malfunctioned and would not complete the drop off. I was alone in the middle of the night and felt unsafe and unsure what to do. I called the number on the store window for help after hours. It said it was for help after hours and would connect me to the GM. no one picked up and I left a voicemail about the situation. I found the key drop off, returned the keys and left. I have not heard back from the store. While I was very disappointed with the experience, I do not wish to place blame on the employee working. She did her best under the Impossible circumstances. The pick up location was changed multiple times including 5 min before we were going to pick the truck up. Unknowledgeable staff. An office with a phone number that doesn't work. The number listed goes to Uhual national and is impossible to get a hold of anyone at this location. The staff is unhelpful and uninterested in helping. My storage rate was increased twice in 6 months with little to no notice and no increase of quality of the facility or assistance from the staff. My service was excellent. Everyone that I worked with was great to me! You need more workers to satisfy the demand of the customers for a better experience. The wait time is hindered by a lack of staff. I had one issue, a big rig hit a customer's car I moved mine to give him any more room that he may need. I parked across the street in the shopping center and got a ticket. This accident is verifiable that it happened on June 28th. Now that's costing me which shouldn't be happening. I had a 20' U-Haul reserved for 9AM. When I arrived on time, they had the vehicle on site but did not have the keys. I had to settle for a 15' instead. We managed to get lucky and fit everything in the 15', but it could have caused a great deal of distress if we needed the 20' instead. I spent over $500 on my truck rental, but when I returned it, I also returned the unopened box of bubble wrap because we ended up not needing it. I asked the woman at the front desk if she could just refund that portion ($15-20) or just put it back on my card. She refused saying that I needed the paper receipt. I told her I didn't have it with me and I had just driven 300 miles. Prior to arrival, I was informed that I could utilize the mobile check out at this location, but this was not an option, which resulted in an additional 1.5hr wait time. Part of what contributed to this extended wait time was that there was only one staff member serving all 3 counters. This staff member did a good job. After collecting the keys, the truck only had 1/6th of gas tank and the truck was parked behind 3 other trucks, which took another 15-20mins.Paul C.

I did a turn-around and came back immediately and they odometer had me at 183 miles which was incorrect. Yes they made the adjustments but to be this dishonest Is horrible. The facility is overcrowded with vehicles and grossly understaffed. The staff that are working at the facility do not care at all about customer service, with only one exception of a supervisor in the loading area that tried to help earlier in the day. At the beginning, it took us more than an hour to even begin unloading because the entrance was blocked by multiple vehicles. After unloading, we were blocked in for the night (meaning we couldn’t get our personal truck out of the U-Haul facility after unloading the U-Haul trailer) by customers returning vehicles and the only staff person we could find said “it was not his problem as to where customers park their vehicle when they return”. We had to ask my wife to speak with returning customers and ask them to position their vehicles so we could get out and this was before the 7 p.m. closing time. I had a terrible experience moving into the Baldwin Hills, CA UHaul storage facility yesterday, Tuesday April 5th, 2022. Upon my arrival, the lady that was helping me, a very nice African-American woman (Mekia? Mikela?) told me that the reservation I made 2 weeks ago was in the computer system, but that the unit was not available. She was somehow able to find me a larger unit, but called her supervisor and asked if he would give it to me for the price of the smaller unit I had reserved, since it was UHaul’s mistake, and he told her no, I would have to pay for the larger unit (after receiving the free month that all one-way truck rentals receive from UHaul, of course, which I was I chose a Uhaul storage facility in the first place). The truck I had rented in Colorado was a 26’ truck, which did not fit into the loading dock area of the only loading entrance into the building, so I had to park it 200 feet away from the door, unload my items onto the ground, walk them 200 feet to the loading entrance (which has no access ramp for dollies or disabled people), leave my items on the ground outside, and then move them into the loading door, JUST TO GET INSIDE OF THE BUILDING. From there, my unit was at the opposite end of the building on the 2nd floor, and there was only one functioning elevator, which a woman and her father were already using. Every time I brought something inside the loading area or into the elevator (which I eventually was able to start using about 2-3 hours after my arrival), I had to swipe my access card to use it and had about 5 seconds to move whatever I was moving before the loading door or elevator door started closing on me. I had to swipe my key card at least 200 times, and had the doors close on me dozens of times while trying to move in. If my girlfriend hadn’t come up from Orange County to help me move things into my unit, there’s no way I would’ve gotten moved in before 10:00, which was when the elevator locked me out & ceased operating for the night (even though a male employee had told me earlier that I would be able to work on moving in as late as I needed to). Fortunately, I only had one load left at 10:00, which I had to carry up a stairwell in order to move into my unit. There was a single courtesy mattress dolly for the entire facility, which I was only able to use once the aforementioned father/daughter were done using it; I asked them how long it took the 2 of them to get loaded into their unit in this terrible facility, and they told me they’d been moving in with a 15’ truck rental for over 12 hours. My personal move-in, with one person helping me unload my truck and another helping me carry items to my unit, took me over 6 hours, and I am a professional mover. Finally, I had parked my 26’ rental where the UHaul employees told me to park it, but kept getting asked by them to move it while in the middle of unloading everything because they needed to get to trucks or trailers. I feel bad because I snapped at the nice lady who was working the front desk the 2nd time she asked me to move it, but I’d had enough. The staff at this location are not the problem, the building is…it looked like more units are being added, so hopefully these issues will be worked out in the future. But I would never, EVER recommend that anyone move their items into the Baldwin Hills UHaul Storage facility in its current condition. Having clients who do not have the same moral compass when it comes to acting like civilized human beings is a huge downfall of a company. Upon arrival to the facility, after have driven two days due to moving in from out of state. There was a storage resident whom had the wrong idea of what was happening and there was an altercation between her, my son, my father in law and myself. She assaulted my minor son, got in my face as well as my father in laws face while her fists where balled up and ready to fight. My entire party remained professional and calm through out the dilemma. She needs to be told she can no longer do business there if this is what she does. It was also stated it is not her first incident that the employees have had to deal with. Instead of employees calling law enforcement they stayed away and shook their heads. Charged me BEFORE showing the unit and the unit was taken they had no other units that size! Now uhaul holds your money for up to 7 days! I paid for a product did not receive it and have to wait for MY money. Fruit flies were flying everywhere and the entrance was jammed by trucks and cars. Worst staff I've ever been around, they give the homeless blankets so the are constantly in around and searching the property. It took 3 hours for me to return my truck because the only person who could run a computer was running a forklift in back. I attempted do rent a truck at this location in la and they never gave me the keys let me pack up the truck and then had no way to move the truck and had to go rent a fluid truck at 4x the price because I couldn't leave my stuff inside the uhaul with so many homeless wondering around. Then when I was told I would get a refund it was never issued and had to file for a refund with my bank for the truck I couldn't drive. Awful experience renting here. I came in on 8/24 to rent a unit. I signed an agreement and was given a unit. Upon leaving I told the Gen Mgr Amber and staff that I would be back in 2 weeks to move my things in. After coming back two weeks later after closing my old storage unit and with a fully loads truck the staff couldn’t find me in the system at all. After going round and round with the staff they found old that my unit was given away to someone else per Amber. How could this happen and think this was an ethical way of doing business? It literally makes no sense at all. Not only was I not notified or told that my unit was being given away for no reason but I had to wait over an hour to try and another unit which they tried to charge me more! The nerve! I was finally given another unit but the professionalism of this mgr is just awful. On a side note the inside of the building and actual storage unit is nice. At this location the staff is always away from the front desk. I came to that place several times where there was no representation in sight. I had to wait patiently for perhaps 30 minutes and a representative strolled out of the restroom, unapologetically. In addition, last week I had to rent a van to take my things out of the warehouse and the representative was extremely rude to me. This guy was African-American. One service took him about 40 minutes to question me, call my references and take a picture of me with his iPhone device. I sensed a great deal of distrust from him. I explained to him.. What does he expect me to do with a whole van I am not renting this to joy ride what do I look like. He was very rude to me he didn’t make me feel like it was ok to rent & he was going to give me the best service because that wasn’t the case. He made me feel as if I was a criminal! Eventually, I was able to lease the truck.. I used the van for approximately two hours and returned it that night. I put the keys in the key deposit box neatly and securely. But two days later the manager "April" called me and said they didn't see the key. I told her you had to check the cameras because the truck is here and I no longer have the truck. She was rude and clearly stated that she did not believe me. I asked her, "Isn't the truck here?" She says people do this all the time, park the truck and take it out again. I told her I have no use for the truck any longer. She said she'd check the cameras and give me a call. She still hasn’t called me back. That location ghetto and they racially profiled me. What's crazy to me is they're all African-American. Disgusting & despicable. It seems to me they're trying to sabotage my reservation. I highly recommend Uhaul if Baldwin Hills Storage. There are only 2 things that could improve. 1. Many return trucks and vans block access to the storage. The manager, Amber Arzu, is an absolute asset to your company! She gave sincere, humane and extraordinarily professional service… I cannot say enough great things about her. She rocks and I hope that you treat her with the appreciation, respect and compensation that she more than deserves. My one complaint is that I received an unsolicited sexual picture from one of the male staff when I first started my storage account at this location. He made me so uncomfortable that I blocked him from contacting me, told my family what happened and rarely went to my storage unit fir fear of running into him. The couple of times I did go I was with people and I vowed to mention this incident to your company once I no longer was a storage customer. Amber remains unaware of this issue, though I have no doubt that she would’ve handled it appropriately had I brought it to her attention. Thank you.LEAH F R. | Overall Experience
Manager of this store was extremely organized and efficient given the fact that it is the largest store in the area and there was constant navigating and arranging of mobile storage containers all day and every day I came there. Staff was excellent in handling pressure from anxious and impatient customers. The 4 stars is for the one staff member who failed to close me out of my storage space like she assured me, and I was sent a late fee notice after having vacated the unit. I will chalk it up as her being overwhelmed, but I was almost charged for a month's rent plus a late fee, and it is very VERY difficult to get through to the actual store when calling in. The Uhaul employees were professional and polite. But the overall attention to detail and the company automatic charges are frustrating. Uhaul has incorrectly withdrawn over $600 in two different charges which I am having to constantly fight to get my money back. Upon returning the truck, there was a 18 wheeler blocking the front parking where had my car.
