My reservation made online was priced @ $47.95 - what the location ended up charging me was $102.61. This was more than double what was quoted when I made my reservation. When I asked about this, both individuals at the counter were visibly upset and said the manager was out back helping another customer. I was essentially told that I could pay what they are charging or I could go some place else. I believe that a Bait and Switch tactic is being used by Uhaul and/or this location and forcing customers to pay way more than what they are quoted when making a reservation. Staff was hit nd miss on friendliness. I was not given. Choice in lock to use and was charged for the lock on the unit. After a year of renting it the key broke off in the lock on moving day. Was told it was 24 hours for a locksmith and would be $50. I would have used my own better lock, if given the choice. The truck stalled out multiple times, profusely leaking oil, and transmission was shifting hard between 1st and 2nd causing the truck to jerk. The appliance dolly was missing one of the stair treads. This caused the dolly to launch my washer into the wall at the bottom of the stairs as the side without tread griped to the stairs. I tried repeatedly to call the U-Haul location about the truck issues. The wait time was 30-45 min and the call auto disconnected after waiting 30 min. Then I attempted to call corporate customer service and again waited for 27 min before the call disconnected. I have been charged for an additional mile. I have not received a final receipt. U-Hauls website and reservation process is terrible. I reserved a vehicle online at another location. When I went to pick the vehicle up, they had released it to someone else. My reservation showed up in the system because the counter person acknowledged it, but could not give a legitimate reason why the vehicle was given to someone else. I went back to the Castleton location to reserve a vehicle for the following day. I originally was supposed to pick up a truck down the street from my new home. It wasn't there so I had to go to this location to get a smaller truck. It added additional time and miles to my trips because it didn't fit everything in 1 trip like planned & was further away from my moving location. No one seemed to care or offer any solution when I asked to drop it off at a closer location or what could be done about the miles and my initial reservation. The online check in process was great and saved a lot of time however the truck definitely needed serious maintenance. I was working on a strict time schedule and had to use the truck anyway but I did not feel safe while operating the truck due to issues with the suspension and brakes. I'm thankful that everything worked out however I am disappointed I got charged for 2 days when extra time was needed due to having to drive very slowly because of the unsafe vehicle being rented. I made my reservation for yesterday on July 7. I was redirected to 3 different locations because none of the locations had the equipment I reserved. I waited over an hour for someone to call me back to try and get a solution. Instead of the 6 hours I asked for I was forced into a 4 hour window. My milage was almost double what I had requested because I was forced to go to a different location than I had requested. Overall this was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with this service.Mike R.

Reprimand the rude attendant (at return/drop off)!! When I picked up the trailer, the attendant was extremely helpful, polite and attentive. Very good experience. The trailer itself worked great... no issues. HOWEVER, when I dropped the trailer off the following happened: * No one was in front of me, so I pulled up to the stop sign that said "STOP: stay in your equipment" and something to the effect of "an attendant will help check you in." * A loud couple behind me pulled up in the truck they were returning; they were arguing with one another (being a nuisance), and a UHAUL attendant came out and started checking them in. * I thought... I was here first, but okay, I guess. * Then another vehicle passed this area and started to undo their trailer ahead of me, in the area where trailers were parked. * After I was sitting in my truck for a while the UHAUL attendant who was checking in the couple's truck behind me, came up to my window and said "Well, are you just going to sit there all day, or what?" ... as if I was doing something wrong by being patient, and DOING WHAT THE SIGN INSTRUCTED ME TO DO!!! Then he added "I figured you didn't want to sit here all day." (Ya think?!?!) There are certainly way bigger problems in the world... but this rude attendant won't be soon forgotten. If I EVER have an alternative to rent a trailer again... it will NOT be with UHAUL. Someplace else has to have better service that that guy.Edwin B.

The alignment was off was the only issue, if you held the wheel at 10 and 2 you would drive off the road to the right. It was okay for me but dangerous for a less experienced driver. Overall the staff here is prompt, professional, and awesome.Cole W.

This location got me in and out when I arrived Saturday morning which was very helpful. But the reservation process was messy at best as I had to call to figure out where I had to pick up the trailer. I had been assigned (neither my first, second or third choice) to another location which opened earlier and all I wanted to do was change the time. While the person was helpful, call to get this worked out took entirely too long. Then when we returned trailer after hours it took us almost an hour with two of us on cell phones to be told the website was down. We were then told the location would check us in when they opened Sunday and email me a receipt which I just received, mid day on Monday after I tried to call the location and got put on a 30-40 wait, again. Trying to do it online finally got us through but not much quicker. In my opinion this is not acceptable customer service. If website is down, it should be noted on the website and not to leave customers wondering what the heck is going on. Process is not very customer friendly if your request doesn't fit in the nice little box of items that can be taken care of online.Jon S.

One thing I noticed. I rented twice in the last few weeks. It was a brand new chevy pickup. Was very surprised. It was nice to see replacing your vehicles. To keep them updated and safe.Jeffery K.
I personally wouldn't recommend uhaul to anyone that needed a guaranteed reservation at a particular location anytime. My experience was horrible- I barely got a truck on the day I needed it and when I did I had to drive it an extra 100 mile at least just to get where I was going not to mention the 200 dollars it cost me to pay movers for standing and waiting on us to show up with the truck. Uhaul totally over books the trucks that they have and don't really care that they are costing their customers hundreds of dollars. Although it was ok for me to drive across town an extra 100 miles it wasn't ok for the people with a reservation later than me to drive across town I was told they couldn't do that to that family although I had reservation as well. It took 3 locations for me to obtain a truck. The Guaranteed reservation is junk because Uhaul fulfills that reservation by making you drive to wherever no matter how far it is in order to get the reserved truck on the day you have your reservation for. Storage is generally *very* expensive, and uhaul rates were about 30% less than their competitors. Everyone at the facility was knowledgeable and patient. I'd an urgent issue present itself, and they were most understanding of my need to take phone calls. It was very refreshing. Absolutely a 10/10! Well, I had a incident to occur with my veh(2013 BMW528I) on the premises whereas my vehicle was Vandalized my rear windshield was Broken by someone. So, I made a Police Report w/IPD, to investigate this situation. I told the front office about this MATTER. So, I had to remove my vehicle from the premises, because I was notified that all items stored outside would have to be removed before the expiration date. So, I was really upset about that incident. Besides the trash everywhere around the storage lot, the gate constantly had issues and nobody would answer the intercom. That then forced me on multiple occasions to wait in the long line of people picking up trucks just to have somebody help me get the gate open. Only 2 out of multiple people I’ve interacted with there (manager and a guy named Nate) had a positive attitude. The staff was not helpful and do not answer the phones or if they do, they put you on hold for over 30 min several times and then do not get back to me which is very disrespectful. The storage area they gave me was a dump, underwater, trash everywhere, old mattresses, dog feces, broken glass, all kinds of trash. I moved all of my things out and they continue to charge me for the storage unit when it was empty for 2 weeks prior to my move out date. I am still getting letters saying I owe money that I do not owe anything?? Seriously I would never use or recommend U-Haul again to anyone unless they change some things and clean up the junkyard. I was disappointed in the level of service and poor conditions for my valuable furniture. I am a very fair person and I only say the facts because I don’t like to say bad things about anyone or anything, but this experience was one of my worst thus so far as moving is already enough stressful enough and adding poor service and conditions just makes it even more stressful. I get robbed on my trailer 2 TIMES!!!! I call managers, customer service and no one help me out. They take out a lot of stuff from the trailer. I was paying for security and i dont receive NONE OF THAT. I was really mad at the service, the employees see me at the office and dont help me out at all with the situation. I do two police reports and still not getting a compensation for all that inget robbed on the trailer. They said that they dont have footage for that days... i was really angry. First day using my storage unit, they assigned me one that had items in it. The unit I was reassigned would not align with the lock part so I couldn’t use the lock I purchased, in the correct spot. Customer service is horrible everytime. Doesn’t matter if I come in for boxes or something else.. there’s no greeting. They ignore you even when they are not with a customer. Everytime I come to this location, the staff never greets any of the customers. Even if there’s a short wait (when they are not with customers) nobody says they’ll be with you in a moment or even acknowledges you’re standing there. The transactions at the counter are always very monotone and awkward. Yesterday I was there because I had a reservation for a storage unit. The unit I was assigned was half open and still had items in there. I was assigned a new unit and luckily that one was empty. No apology at the counter. Just a new sheet of paper with my new unit number. The staff is worse than the workers at the post office. Told that my access was 24/7( Posted on the gate). Get up their after hours in freezing weather and had no access. My vehicle was inside so I had to leave there walking. You haul customer service( While I was freezing) Would not Grant my access until they somehow contacted the general manager of the u-haul location where my vehicle was. Otherwise I was going to have to wait until 5:00 a.m. when he came in. This turned in to about a 2 hour ordeal when I was finally granted a pass cold that would let me into the storage. I really enjoyed having somewhere to hold my things for a year while downsizing. Before moving my things in storage the unit was clean. My unit was easily accessible even with a huge truck.
