I selected a location in the town where I live to pick up the equipment. When I made my on-line reservation, there was no mention of a possible change in pickup location, at least none that was noticeable. The texts I received giving me different pickup locations were confusing given that I did not select those locations.Jack H.
Sort out the system for providing weight tickets. It took over ten phone calls to try to get them after the containers were picked up, and the â€œweight ticketâ€ provided was not a weight ticket at all, but a UHaul estimate of the weight of a container limit. We could not use it for military reimbursement, and paid $500 to the receiving UHaul office for empty and full weight tickets (had to be re-weighed).Fumiko H.

I chose this location only because the one I normally use didn't have a pick up. The agent tried to trick me into buying the insurance but I caught it. The truck was filthy. The low oil light as well as the change oil light were on and when I informed the agent upon check in, she stated the oil will be changed whenever someone comes around to do it. If I cared so little about my company's equipment I'd be out of a job. I run a Dodge service department. Truck only had 11K miles on it.Christopher H.

Front desk person was rude. I asked if I could receive a 5 mile credit for being transferred to a location farther away from my destination. She said no you'd have to speak to a manger. I asked to and she said the manager is not here. Then what the hell is the point? I mentioned that I used to be a dealer and that I would always credit my customers when they were moved by traffic for the inconvenience. She said it doesn't work like that anymore. I asked to speak to the AFM. She texted him but told me that any credit would happen after my contract was completed. Why not just tell me to go fuck myself? The truck had a lot of damage not shown in the equipment status photos or marked by the location with a sticker. I took pictures of every side. I'll never use this location again. I know Rancho is rough but I wasn't asking for anything other than a 5 mile credit!Geoffrey C.

Staff are rather impolite. Ordering customers around without a please or thank you. Don't expect a smile or for them to go out of there way to help you. They get the job done competently but they act like they are doing you a favor.Brian H.
I had to move my reservation to different location. I spoke to Alina, the area Manager, who was very unprofessional and said out loud â€œoh my godâ€ when I had asked a simple question of why a corporate reservation would tell me that a truck was available when it wasn't. She could have been a little empathetic but instead was rude and short. Otherwise the pick up location was fine. The attendant could have been a little nicer there as well. Also, the truck that was given to me was on empty gas so I had to switch that one as well. The whole process of renting a uhaul ended up taking a lot more of my time then it should have and no one seemed to care .Salvador E.

I reserved the U-box at a location VERY close to my home. Two months later right before I needed it, I was told that location never has u-boxes. I was going to pick it up myself (1 mile round trip), but was told to pick it up 19 miles from my house (38 miles RT x 2 trips in one day to take it back after packing= 76 miles) I would have had it delivered if it was that far away! It was too late by then, and there was no one to deliver it. After MANY phone calls, eventually I got a pick up 5 miles from my house, which was doable. *** Please DO NOT LET PEOPLE RESERVE U-BOX FROM LOCATION THAT DOES NOT HAVE THEM, AND IMFORM YOU AT THE LAST MINUTE OF THE SITUATION. Drove the truck to a gas station and our shop 2 miles away. We spent $159.98 in gas, the gas pump was not connected so We lost most of the gas. I have the gas receipt. We returned the truck with 4 miles driven. We were refunded $103.50 for the gas, we are still out $56.48 for the gas.Jerry H.

Staff member was rude and unhelpful. First encounter (day before appointment) she sat and scrolled on her phone eating Gardetos while 5 people were standing in front of her waiting to be helped. day of appointment I was at facility at 8 to unload my storage unit and ubox, when she opened at 9 she insisted that she had to help the other people that stood in front of the door for her to open before she pulled out my ubox that I had reserved to be available to me at 9am and had people whom I was paying by the hour waiting. I had to explain and beg the other customers to let me go ahead of them and they were gracious enough to do so. When she finally did pull out the ubox she parked it as far away from the moving truck as possible without it being obvious she wasn't being helpful.ANDREA T.

Two terrific women balanced multiple clients patiently and confidently. You don't pay them enough and severely short staff this location. Good thing those two were the best. I think UHaul expects women to do more with less and I bet for lower pay. Have used this location for years and these two rocked it on a busy Friday morning. I am filling this out based on an employee named Ariella and I will also be emailing Uhaul corporate offices. The experience we walked into was absolutely ridiculous! This lady (named Ariella because I finally asked the employee trying to help us to write her name down) was rude, so rude that my adult children and myself were uncomfortable. We shouldn't have to listen to an employee leave an approximately three-minute-long rude voicemail talking completely down to someone about parking in the wrong spot at the facility. Meanwhile, the gal named Lya was trying her best to keep peace in the office and got to a spot where she needed assistance with our storage. This went on for quite a while in which another customer came in and was "snapped" in rude tones saying to her that she was busy and would help her when she was finished. This was fine, however, the tone used was extremely rude, not to mention this lady had still not helped our situation and by now it was 6:00 pm and the facility was to close at 7:00 pm. Lya asked for assistance again from Ariella and was told to wait (despite the fact that we should have been done and on our way) - we were not a priority. Lya asked if we could start unloading the uhaul while waiting and Ariella snapped - NO not if the order isn't complete. At this point, Ariella was just sitting there and Lya got frustrated and had to leave the office to try and call the store manager for help with our storage. We were further disgusted when Ariella got up from behind the desk (still not helping us) and scuffed at my 26-year-old daughter with an attitude. NOT OK! We had just spent three days on the road and to be treated like this was awful. By the time it got figured out, the time was 6:30 pm and Lya quickly opened the large door so we could unload by 7:00 pm. Next thing I knew was Ariella came stomping out with an attitude for NO REASON and stated - JUST SO YOU KNOW I AM CLOSING THAT AT 6:45 pm. At this point, I wanted to lose my mind on this woman, but luckily my focus was on getting as much of the Uhaul in 15 minutes as we could. First, I would like to say that even my 21-year-old son stated that it was a good thing that Lya was there trying her best to put out fires because I would have not gone as well for Ariella. Secondly, we will be getting a different storage unit in the near future and not recommending the facility. Thirdly, we were there when the call came in that this Ariella actually had left the horrendous phone call erroneously. I could go on but will say lastly that this experience was supposed to be pleasant and it wasn't. After she had the nerve to stall our interactions, we had to wait until after it was locked at 7:00 pm for another 15 minutes for the alarm to set. In the meantime, two other customers tried to come to the facility to drop off stuff in their storage and were turned away. The sign says 24-hour access, but that is not entirely true. Overall, WORST experience with Uhaul, and we will not use it again. With that being said, this employee Lya deserves a medal as she held it together incredibly well.SARAH B. | First Impressions

Your phone check in did not work, and the gals at the counter informed me that despite having a 24-hour rental, I could only check in before 6:30 because phone check in was ALSO not working. The trailer had D rings for straps or tie downs that were non usable because you couldn't hinge them up inside of the trailer. The tailgate left side black pin was very hard to insert because the trailers seem to be bent slightly not making it line up well when you close to tailgate ramp. Customer service was terrible. First a staff employee told me do not park in the spot I parked at for future reference, the place that had no signage saying no parking and was perfectly legal and acceptable. When I returned the trailer, I had to wait for employee to get off a portable device and they claimed they were doing some kind of contract but nobody else was there so being I was the only customer I had to sit there and wait. I would think customers would be first and if you're working on a contract online you could put that on hold and take care of who's in front of you. I thought it was very rude. Upon returning, they seem not to like the idea that I removed a trailer off my vehicle and pulled my vehicle up to the customer parking. They wanted my vehicle left connected to the trailer so they could check the trailer lights with my vehicle as I returned. If they need to check the trailer lights, they probably should have a tool to check them on their time and not on my time.James T.

U-Haul's call center is slow and not helpful â€“ my initial call went to the call center when I attempted to reach a local U-Haul corporate yard. I had already input the type of trailer I needed on the web site before placing the call, and had to wait on hold for 5+ minutes for the call to go through. Once connected, it appeared the call center employee had the results of my web site input in front of him (I assume based on my phone #). I repeated what equipment I needed and where I wanted to pick the trailer up â€“ he then wasted 10 minutes of my time walking me through the entire reservation process (including multiple disclaimers AND taking my credit card info) before telling me that NO U-Haul sites within 25 miles of my location had the type of trailer I needed available. I ended the call, and placed a second call to another U-Haul yard about 5 miles from the location where I initially wanted to pick up a trailer. The woman who answered at that location said they had multiple trailers in the size & type I needed on hand. When I arrived at the yard to pick up the trailer, I mentioned how unhelpful the call center was â€“ the woman on the counter (same person I spoke with at that site) said it happens all the time â€“ call center tells customers no trailers are available, when her location is â€œdrowning in trailersâ€.BARRY A.
I filled up the truck and the guage did not even move and ended up filling 4 gallons for 20miles. After I got close to the location the guage started moving and ended up filling way more then I needed to. The last was also rude at checkin. I don't know why but you guys always add an extra mile when I'm not there. I have a business and I don't do this and this is not right. The one downside I found was that my unit was on the second story and there isn’t a service elevator to help get heavy items up and down, forcing you to use the stairs..not the safest/most efficient. The facility had short fences. Broken fences. Not enough cameras. The employees told us they never walk around and check the cars out. They are not liable for anything lost or stolen, or thefts they say. Homeless drug addicts a Hang out where the fence was broken I’m the back by my car. My car was vandalized numerous times. I have used uhaul for a number of years in different states and this is the first time I've felt the need to write a bad review. My car was damaged on the property due to negligence on uhaul's part. I paid for car storage and after 5 weeks of being away I came back to a big dent in the top of my car. It was obviously from something being dropped on it. Uhaul has been doing work under the awing that my car my under and never made sure the contractors were using protection for people's cars in case something was dropped. They honestly didn't care about the damage and said they weren't responsible for it since they say you rent here at your own risk. They have also had break ins into RVs. Staff were always very polite and friendly. The facility, however, has extremely poor security and is an easy target for break-ins. Our RV trailer was vandalized twice while stored at the facility, as was all the neighboring RV trailers next to us. The last vandalism to the trailers was extreme. When reported, the staff gave us insurance pamphlets and said they were sorry, and said that it's a problem at that facility. Our travel,trailer as well as 10 others were broken into by the homeless population. What upset us the most was the fact that none of the employees thought to notify us.
