Check tires on towing equipment. The auto transport I rented had one tire with no tread. Less than 1/32 on the inside of the tire and about 2/32 on the outside of tire. It was the only auto transport they had available, so they should have installed new tire before releasing unit. Also, the toe down straps and ratchets needed to be replaced, but had some life left in them.Gustin F.
CONS: I don't like that I can't get into my indoor storage unit until the office opens. I don't like that there are only two indoor garage parking spaces and only a few carts on wheels. If the garage is full of cars, you have to wait until people leave and who knows how long they'll stay. There are dozens of units behind the sliding doors once into the garage. It's convenient if you get to use it but not if you're sitting in your car waiting to get in and have to leave. I really do love the garages but it's just not convenient. The business model is horrible. Once you are in the garages, if someone else is using the carts, you've gotta wait for those too. PROS: I like that there was a dumpster to dump things in that I didn't want to keep. I like that maintenance crew was immediately there checking on things when someone did come into the garages. It felt safe. I like that the bathrooms were always kept clean no matter when I came. I loved the price for the 5x5 that I had. CONCLUSION: I'm glad that this was my last experience with storage units. I'm pretty much done with them. With recession/inflation now, what I paid for a unit, pays a bill, so I can use the freed up money. Thanks for the time I had there. It really was almost perfect.Barbara R. | Overall Experience

I was told at first loc that since I wasn't sure of location for drop off, they'd put it in their notes. When I went to drop it off , there was no one in office. Eventually we searched lot to find 1 man sitting inside a truck with it running. He looked at paper and refused to take it saying it wasn't the "right uhaul location and he wasn't taking it" very rude. Very unprofessional. Actually mean at the point of getting the paper. The person working when we picked up the trailer we had reserved made a big deal about making sure we clean it before returning it if we didn't want to be charged the extra fee for them to do it, but when we got home to load it up the entire floor was full of sand and trash from the last person who had rented it, but I swept it, and was over being upset about it by the time we went to return the trailer. We rented it from 9:59am to 815pm on a Saturday. Come Sunday I get an email receipt for double what the price was supposed to be. Those people didn't bother checking it in till after 2pm Sunday, saying that we didn't return it till then. After being on hold for 30 minutes we were finally told that we'd get a refund of the 2nd days amount in 3-5 days. I get mistakes happen but these were caused by pure laziness. I made a reservation online for a storage unit and vehicle pick up several days in advance. I was under the impression I reserved a specific dimension for the unit and a specific size truck. When I checked in, however, I was told that both the unit and truck sizes I had reserved were unavailable. I reserved a truck a week in advance for a 7 am pickup. I arrived onsite and followed the instructions for a mobile pickup. The instructions provided a code for the lock box on the front of the building which was supposed to have the truck keys in it. The box was empty. I had to wait for them to open 30 minutes later. If I had reserved for earlier, I could've potentially been waiting hours. I go inside, get the keys, and go to the truck and the pads and dolly that I reserved are not in it. So I had to go back inside and wait in line for someone to get those. I returned the truck and was told I would receive a receipt by email within 30 minutes or so after they completed the checkin process. I never received my receipt. I received a call at 11:30 the following day from uhaul asking if I was planning on returning the truck that was now a day past due. Apparently the truck was never checked in by staff like it was supposed to be. This was a complete mess from start to finish and I will not be renting from this location againRonald H.

Building doors need to be labeled better as to know where to go to check in etc. Young man who was supposed to be checking in the vehicle (his name is Austin) was extremely rude to me and to my husband. To the point we both complained vociferously. The acting manager wound up having to take over and waived any additional mileage fees as an attempt to placate. They said we could not drop off our auto transport before we dropped off the rental truck. Well we could not unload the rental truck with the auto transport attached. We did not pick them up on the same day, we loaded the truck and then picked up the transport, so why would we not be able to drop off separately? Quoted a rate and then charged something different. We we talked to the manager in store and he said well the rate is what it is we don't control it and there is nothing I can do to help you, call corporate which is absolutely ridiculous. One of my biggest pet peeves is to see a manager in customer service unwilling to take ownership of his own employees errors and get it corrected and send a customer on goose chase to find someone that cares. I consider it unprofessional and quite wrong to tell a person a price, charge them something different without notice and then not take ownership to correct the problem. Also not honoring what was originally said is equally wrong. We spend a lot of money at that location between our storage and repeat rentals and do not feel appreciated or valued as repeat customers at the store level. Although, at least the upper management Bridgit/Rome and corporate are better with customer service. It's a shame they can't rub off some of their professionalism and skill in customer satisfaction/appreciation on the in store employeesâ€¦jonathan B.

I'm not one to typically do any reviews for products or services. However, I am compelled to let everyone know that my recent rental went flawless. The reservation was easy. When we showed up to get our rental we were greeted and assisted promptly. The overall appearance of the inside building and outside lot was clean and well organized. Add in the fact that they recognize the previous owners of the building and definitely did their part to help our planet by re-using the building as opposed to destroying it and rebuilding. This location I believe should be recognized as a flagship store location. How u-haul should be conducting business, their footprint and appearance, not to mention the caliber of employees is exactly what a consumer is looking for. Our check in process went quick and easy as well. Overall I would give them the highest rating possible in recognition of their help and contribution to our community and their representation of the u-haul company. The hitch that was installed was not the appropriate size for the trailer I rented. I had no idea as I've never towed a trailer (or anything else) prior to this trip. I drove from Milton, FL to San Jose, CA and had to stop at another uhaul store in a different state because I kept hearing a dragging sound and ended up having to replace the extension (that came standard with the hitch) with a longer one. I was told that the original installer should have known that the standard hitch wasn't high enough for my SUV and should have known that I needed a longer one.Lisa J.

We rented the truck with a half tank of gas at 5pm, and loaded the next morning. After we loaded the truck, we departed and stopped at first gas station before driving the interstate. As gas level neared FULL, I heard splashing coming from under the truck. I looked under, and gas was overflowing from somewhere under the truck. Storage facility was great. The 20ft box truck we rented from Orlando vibrated at 50 MPH and turned a 7 hour trip to a 9 hour trip. Very nerve racking. The truck TT 5375K needs to be put in for service immediately. I wanted to store my loaded 26 foot moving truck overnight in the parking lot awaiting my vehicle that was going to be loaded onto a car carrier. The car was going to be available the next morning, however the manager stated that it is against company policy to allow a loaded truck to be left, even for just one night. She indicated the policy was for "insurance purposes". What is the risk or exposure to UHaul? A simple hold harmless agreement could be signed relieving UHaul from all liability. The alarm to the outdoor door near one of the loading docks kept going off at random, despite me checking in and out correctly. When I swiped once to get in, accessed my unit, then left, when I swiped to check out, it said it was checking me in again! So I swiped again to check out... It was during this time the alarm was going off. Also, it went off again after the keypad said I was checked out. I informed the evening staff at the front desk, who claimed they couldn't hear anything and didn't know what to do since they'd never heard of that particular alarm going off. I pointed out on their security camera the outdoor door to the building in question. Again, this was for the outdoor door near a loading dock. Extremely overpriced, for the area anyway. It’s more than double what I pay for another unit I rent, same size in a more secure facility. Had I not been in a situation where I had to move some items into storage quickly and another less expensive facility had been available I would not have rented the Uhaul unit.
