Unit on 2nd floor unavailable first day 🦋- I paid 2 day laborers $50 ($25 per hour x 2 people)) and we could not work Elevator out of order day 2 again, finally turned on around 8:30 AM) we had 1-1/2 hours elevator day 2 before it quit again. The location was convenient and worked well, however trying to return the vehicle with the app was a disaster. It did not say where to drop off the vehicle at that specific location and it kept saying it could not locate me, even though I had given it permission multiple times, and therefore, I felt like I could not leave the vehicle without trying to fix it. After about 45 minutes of trying I finally gave up. I dropped the keys in the lock box and prayed that I would be credited with returning the vehicle. 😳Christine K.

The elevator stopped working and we were left stranded with our property unable to pack the rest of our stuff. We had to find a hotel in Cypress and spend the night only to go back to resolve the situation. One of lights did not work on the trailer I rented, called to get it fixed was given the run around so it never was fixed. Booked online so it said I would get a $50 credit for picking up at this location instead of the one close to my mom that didn't have to trailer I needed, never received it. They had furniture stored inside the entrance area. I was trying to get help with my storage number using the intercom on the third floor because the storage that was giving to me had a lot on that I could get in, only to find out that I was given someone else storage. The worker came after seeming frustrated cause it was time for him to be off, he made the comment this would happen when it’s time to get off as if it was my fault I was given someone else unit. So he found another unit only for that one to be for someone as well. Here I’m there with my help with my things unloaded awaiting for the worker to act and say nothing he can do but extent my truck rental, like I done unload my things in everything really. I ask for a bigger unit he said there was none I’m like well can I have two 5by5 cause I can’t load this stuff back up and come back tomorrow I have help now and work tomorrow. Finally he was able to give me the two 5by5 but this was a big inconvenience and not good on y’all part. And plus the elevator was extremely slow. The 26ft trucks AC went out 1/2 through the trip. The windshield wipers smeared the windows and made it extremely difficult to drive during a down pour driving to NC. I had to drive with the windows down including during the rain otherwise the windshield would fog up. I think that 26ft truck has a Freon leak as it blew cold the first half of the move. The second truck (20ft) had to be returned back to the UHAL location as the check engine light came on and got stuck in limp mode. This is after we had already loaded it. So we got the pleasure of unpacking and reloading that truck as well. I would love a call from a manager as the issues were with the trucks and not the employees or location. 832-704-3917.Robert R.

I received a call a few days before my move that I would need to come to this location instead of the initial location I had chosen to pickup the truck I reserved - not an issue. However I had scheduled movers through U-Haul on Sunday morning at 8:30am, and this location was 30 minutes from my home. So I requested the pickup be moved to 7am. I was told it would have to be a mobile pickup (I had originally scheduled as counter pickup) as the location was not open at that time - also not a problem. On Saturday before the pickup, I verified with the location to make sure everything was in order, the online checkin had been completed, and the truck would be ready. Everything was confirmed. On Sunday at 7am when trying to retrieve the truck, it would not allow me to do a mobile pickup. I called the help line, and after a 30 minute hold, was told that the location had not set it up properly for mobile pickup (or something along those lines). I had to wait until 9am when they were open to retrieve the truck at the counter (the guy who opened the store was helpful as he could be). In the meantime I had to call the movers (who were scheduled through U-Haul) and hope that they could shift their schedule around to squeeze my move in. Luckily they were able to arrive a few hours later. The whole experience was just a stressful situation after another.Kirby N.

The employees were moderately helpful. I explained that I had never used this service before and was given a brief overview of how it worked, but assistance would have been preferred, particularly because I do not drive a truck and don't know the specifics of the vehicle and because the tow dolly was more complicated to arrange (mostly the straps around the tires) than initially thought. Very friendly employees though. There's nowhere to leave a comment about either of my phone calls, so I'll review those here. After looking at tow dolly options online, I was alerted by the system that I would need my vehicle inspected to ensure it would fit on the tow dolly but I didn't see anywhere to schedule an inspection. I called on June 22, and the employee was very friendly and helpful. I didn't even ask, but he decided to make the reservation (for July 2) over the phone, which was one fewer step for me with my move. We looked at the pick-up locations in town (Brenham, Texas) and decided on one. He said they would call me the following week to let me know if they had both the truck and the tow dolly at the same location and, if not, they would move them to be in the same location, and that they would contact me regarding the inspection. I never received any call, so I began to call the reservation location (U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer at 1700 FM389 in Brenham, Texas) and no one ever answered or called me back. I did receive the requisite phone call from a representative on July 1, the day before my reservation, to review the contract. At that time I was told the nearest location was in Cypress, Texas, an hour away. So they had to add extra miles onto my vehicle because of that distance. No attempt was made to move the vehicle to the reserved location, either. Because of this, I was also told that a $30 credit would be given to me, which I never saw on the contract or final receipt. I reserved a truck about a month early on Friday of last week I went to the location and was told, that I had to drive 20 down the road because they didn't have the truck. I drove to 529 and Fry only to be told the system was down . Smh. I had to Reserve the truck on my phone . It took over a hour and half to pick up the truck.James K.

Picked up the U-Haul and drove it to my home just 2 miles away. When I went to drive it to where we would be loading it up the truck wouldn't start. I had to call roadside assistance and have the person recharge the battery. We were nervous the entire weekend that the truck would fail on us. Thankfully it didn't.Sarai R.

No security at all. The place was open and everyone had access to the units. The staff is untrained and can not give any help. One person seems to know a little bit but can not access the computer to give any information. The manager has not returned my calls. I get put on hold and never have my calls answered. I heard an alarm going off and ask an employee if they go and check on it and his reply was “why would I do that”. There are only two of us here holding down the fort. He was walking out of the sliding door when I asked him. My unit was broken into and I can’t get insurance paperwork from y’all. My lock was not cut. I was told that I had $10,000 in coverage and when I reported it I was told I have $1000 in coverage. No-one wants to give me any paperwork, because they can’t access it. It was a constant revolving door of employees which definitely affected the knowledge base of operations. I physically went to the office and closed my boxes In late September and have been receiving disturbing emails and bills about payment still due. When calling to follow up to find out why I was receiving bills I was told my box was still open I had a lock on it. Something is terribly wrong with the process, the employees and the manager. As I indicated my box was officially emptied, verified by an employee and all locks removed. Obviously they forgot to put it in the system or issued the box to someone else and forgot to put them into the system. For three months this has been an aggravating thorn in my side. I telephone customer service said they would call me back I never did , I called the store manager Kevin directly and spoke to him. What a merry go round trying to convince him that I had officially close my box months ago. First impressions are everything and with that said. So far the only thing about this storage is the location. Our first impression of the facility was not very good. The employee at the front seemed like she really didnt want to be bothered. The loading area is full of old junk as soon as you enter the building and it is filthy and smelly. You are greeted by a dirty mattress as soon as you enter the building that smells bad. The building smells bad as soon as you enter and there were roaches crawling in the elevator. My unit was not cleaned at all with chips and dirt over the whole inside u had to sweep it out myself. The person at the front said the maid service would be there later and to just sweep it out to the end of the hall. I returned hours later the dirt and chips of trash were still there. Not a good first impression at all. I would not recommend anyone here. May need to invest in a maid that actually cleans and not leave the junk in front of the entrance for months. Renting the storage was a great experience! The couple that checked me in was so friendly and personable! I do have a complaint, then next day that I went to drop off my stuff in the unit, I noticed the latch to close was lose. I went to report it to the gentleman in front office, guy with long hair and he told me that he didn’t have access to his tools because the previous manager had been pushed out of the office and left everything locked.
