5 Rivers was awesome service, it was getting to that point of getting a van that was frustrating, first phones don't get answered, directed to Barrie? Finally got head office to be disconnected after being told I needed to speak to a booking agent, call back to wait and go through process againâ€¦.. second time dealing with uhaul, first time I booked a truck in March for July, I confirmed every month then the day prior to moving I got a call saying no truck available.Barbara B.
We spent 40 minutes trying to get the key from the lock box. Using the â€˜do-it-yourself' check in app it was very confusing. After putting in my information it then proceeded to tell me what truck was mine and that the keys were in a black box at the front door. I couldn't find the key because they were locked away and I wasn't given a code. There was no one to ask for help except a number to call but we were on hold for 40 minutes so by the time we got the code to open the lock box, it was an hour after we booked the u-haul. I received a text asking me to verify the condition of the equipment 20 minutes after I picked up the cargo van.I reserved a dolly and they didn't have the smaller one I booked, and they offered no discount on the large dolly and made me pay the higher price for it. I complained about the app booking which said they did have the smaller dolly available and they said â€œIt's not our problem, it's the corporate system and there is nothing we can do about it.â€ That is bad customer service and I will avoid using uhaul in the future.JUDSONM B.
The person working does not tell you the truth, they lie and try and charge you different mileage and prices for the cargo van we rented. We were told it was 56 dollars. We got their it was 125 after arguing with them they lowered the price down to what it was online. When we dropped the truck off they tried to charge us another 85 dollars saying that's how the u haul works. They said the mileage was 1.25 a km, but when we showed them it was .89km they got very upset and changed it. I would not recommend using 5 rivers u haul in orillia ontario to anyone. Very unfriendly and horrible service. They had 3 men yelling at us because we questioned the priceMATTHEWDAVID L.

Honestly U-Haul doesn't even deserve the one star on this. It was the worst experience I've ever had dealing with any company or customer service. We went to pick up our reservation and were told upon arrival they didn't have that truck at this location and were directed to call customer service. After waiting 20 minutes to get an agent, we were informed the people who were supposed to return the truck to our location decided to extend their reservation, therefore bumping ours. How that's even possible considering if I wanted to extend my stay at a hotel another night but my room was booked by someone else, I would have to book a different room. There were NO other trucks available in all of Ontario to pick up and their "solution" was $50 off and a cargo van (at the regular rate minus the $50). Considering we were combining two households in different towns and had to be out of our places by end of day, this was unacceptable. We had to make multiple trips to both locations, which means more gas and mileage that are of course at our cost. On top of that, we were moving out of town and our reservation included dropping off at the city we were moving to but now we were told we'd have to bring it back to this specific location. They also significantly misquoted us on mileage when I had called earlier in the week to confirm the cost of extra mileage since we knew we would go over. When I asked about extra mileage packages, I was told only flat rates were available. Customer service had the attitude of "too bad so sad" and made no attempt to rectify anything. When we went inside to finalize the details on the cargo van (since we needed something), the location was great and offered us more mileage and a reduced rate on extra mileage. How this was possible for them and not for customer service is beyond me. This is apparently not the first time something like this has happened and when I relayed the experience to my friends, no one seemed surprised that this was U-Haul as others had similar experiences. Everything that could go wrong, did. I will NEVER use U-Haul again and have been sure to make everyone I know aware of what a horrible experience this was and the type of stress and anxiety it caused me and my family. I was given a place and time for pickup. We went and waited for half an hour No one came with Keys. We called two separate U_ Haul Business one never picked up and the other I left two messages with NO REPLY. I Finally called the 1800 number and they setup the Rental for us. The van i booked had not been returned prior to my arrival. The location should have contacted me in advance to notify me that this had happened. They did offer me another vehicle and at first said i would have to pay more. Which ended up getting worked out, although if i book a vehicle and the location does not have that available they should not suggest i have to pay more.CHRISTOPHERH J.

The truck was quite dirty inside with debris on the floor. The supplies I reserved via credit card two months ahead of my move date had not been provided to the outlet to dispense to me. I got one bag of blankets instead of the two dozen I reserved. I got a furniture dolly but the appliance dolly I reserved had not been provided to the outlet and was not available to me. The staff at the outlet were great, but I'm furious that my truck was dirty and my supplies not available. I did everything I was supposed to do, TWO MONTHS before my reservation date. If you advertise that you provide supplies, then you need to fulfill that promise. You can't tell people on their moving day that you don't have what they need. That's UNacceptable! Reliability is paramount for a rental company and you really let yourself down with me. I'm very dissatisfied with your complete disregard of my needs on a day already fraught with anxiety. It's your job to make the equipment part seamless, and you failed. I'll never with with UHaul again.Ellen P.

The first time I booked with the HQ location in Brampton . The girl gave no details of the pick up or lock box. When I got to the location in Orillia, we could not find anything. So I had to reschedule with the Mississauga Road location in Orillia. Not happy with the Brampton HQ that originally booked. Mississauga Road location was fantastic!! Had a door that was difficult to close, windshield wipers were so warn out they didn't clean or even touch the windshield to clean or remove windshield washer fluid or filth, this made us have to pullover on a highway and use our own sweater to clean the washer fluid off. Before arriving at uhaul we tried to contact them by phone to ensure everything was in order and they didn't answer their phone for more then 5 hours when we arrived we asked why are the phones not answered and he just asked if we were there to get our rental, the employees were NO HELP at all and we spent two hours in our vehicle trying to reach someone from the uhaul customer service center (1 800 number) we were now 3 hours behind schedule! When we left we asked about drop off and we're told to just leave key in the provided after hours box, we also paid the extra 7$ for a furniture dolly however we didn't need it and I expressed this to the uhaul employee but ended up taking it any way to later be charged 69$ for using it!?! So finally we paid the 179$ and for no reason we're charged another 140$ for no reason at all! We insured gas was out in and was clean we returned as it was so there was no reason for this extra charge! From orillia to Penetang and back cost us around 319$ to pick up a couch! Ridiculous do not use this location if you don't have to they care more about their restaurant that's attached and the uhaul store is filled with isles of international foods they offer for sale. No customer service at all and we're not helpful and tried to bill us an extra 140$ That another uhaul representative expressed for no reason at all and 60$ for a 7$ furniture dolly? Avoid at all cost like google suggest!John H.

Staff was great & friendly. But when I arrived on time/earlier actually only to find out my truck was not here. And going to be like another hour or more. Called head office amd they got disconnected from me as they were going to call this store. Waited 5 min amd nothing so I went back inside the store. Where I convinced them to give me the other 15' truck that was here (someone else rented it but for a later pu time.) so I did get a truck (wasted only about 30min). But all in all was all good. But than they had to charge me for double the milage as I got screwed out of a trailer that morning from a Barrie store at 62 Commerce rdAdam B.

Vehicle was not cleaned off of snow and there was no snow brush to clean the snow off in the vehicle. Also, didn't find out until I was on a busy highway that there was NO windshield washer fluid at all, so it led to a very dangerous drive on a busy highway until I was able to stop at a gas station to fill the windshield washer reservoir.Daniel B.

I love the Five Rivers Store. The people are fantastic, I don't live close to the store, but because they are so awesome I drive a extra 20 minutes just to use their store. I only use this store. They are amazing and I totally recommend this store.NICOLE P.
I only used truck for two days and when I ask about a rebate for unused time and for the extra fuel in the tank which it only need to a half a tank but was a full tank they said that U-haul does not give rebates for any one of these reasons so for I will never recommend you to anybody that ask and over the years I have use your service a far pit but never again.HARVEY T.
Vehicle should be full of gas when customer picks it up. I was annoyed that I had to fill the tank before starting my trip and then fill it again when I returned it. Furthermore when I picked it up there was a layer of ice on the windshield, no scraper in the vehicle, so I had your U-Haul rep come out with his scraper to clean it off. This should have been checked and taken care of before my time of arrival, which was advised when ordering the vehicle.ROBERT M.
