The office was closed. The location was covered in very deep mud and snow. It was the only vehicle drop off for the entire city of Calgary. The location is in the middle of a field that has only one way to enter.

I did mobile check in which made everything a lot faster but I had rented blankets, and a dolly, neither of which was in the truck, and when I called later to inquire about it, I was told they didn't have any at the time. Made our move a lot more difficult.

I had an unpleasant experience this time. My truck was not available at the location I reserved it from. I had to drive extra to pick up the other truck. The phone app didn't work. The system also was down at the new location and the poor guy at that location needed a remote help because of the system. I reserved a dolly and furniture pads so non where available. I declined the insurance in my reservation and found out it was included in the contract as a result of the change of booking. Then I received an email telling me that I didn't return the equipment even though I handed the keys to the nice lady as per the reservation. How can you ensure the above items are fixed so I use U-Haul again?!

So our actual drop-off location was U-Haul Moving & Storage at Barlow Trail, but in my opinion all U-Haul locations are suffering from the same poor business model, which leads to TERRIBLE experiences for the customers! STAY AWAY! Find a local company! It will save you time and money. Our experience at U-Haul was incredibly painful, from a charge for a missing dolly that we returned in BC; to not being able to park our vehicle at the location that had been confirmed for us online in Alberta due to lack of capacity; to then being sent to a closed location in the middle of nowhere - literally down gravel country roads with no one around, no customer service reps, no local phone numbers to be able to speak to a real person; to multiple issues trying to store our stuff "for free" for a month, with very little understanding or help from the staff at the office (constant waits, zero helpful information on how to get into the locker, an access key that never worked, and a very painful checkout process); to almost being charged multiple times after we had moved out of storage (due to an automatic billing system in US dollars that is run by the international conglomerate, over which the local employees apparently have no control); honestly I could go on an on. The amount of time I spent online, on the phone, and physically visiting these out of town locations to try to deal with the multitude of headaches caused by U-Haul and it's employees is unbelievable. I will NEVER use them again. The local companies that appear to cost more at first glance will 100% serve you better and most likely cost you less in the end that this terrible and poorly run company. I am STILL trying to resolve the incorrect charge for the 'missing' dolly that we never took out of the store, which is now leading to further headaches as I deal with the international calling centre, leaving messages for the actual store reps, and now a collection notice from a creditor. So much unnecessary pain.

Great customer service. The people were great and very helpful. The location is very tight to get into and out of (although most are), but it was raining/snowing and the location became somewhat of a mud pit. Would have preferred a paved location. Not too bad to get to for me though

Not professional at all. my appointment was for 9.00am and the lady arrived at 9.10am and told me and other 2 customers that we need to wait as she has to go through what was returned. 3 appointments at 9.00am with only one person to do the paperwork and hookups. I did the online check in to ensure I can get on the road asap but it took me over 45 mins to get a trailer which was in their yard.

it had ice rained and had to warm the vehicle up and then scrape the windows ourselves? At 1.47 a mile, this location is just a money grab. it's so far NE that it's over 20 miles just to get back to civilization! Cost me 60$ just to and from the location.

While the people were very nice, the building and computer system was decrepit, disorganized and functioned poorly. It was about 3 degrees outside and there were flies buzzing around inside. Made one wonder about the body under the floorboards :) Otherwise the people themselves were very hospitable and friendly.

Yes my son says this second location was fabulous, good customer service, courteous and professtional The original drop off point I believe was Dryden ? Well my son was not impressed for the offhanded manner that he was treated with But that second location which I think is listed above had a really good experience as stated first off Thank you again for helping with my sons and my move across Canada ??

The location is bad. The trailers electrical was faulty and they had no replacement trailer or any way to fix electrical. I had to take the trailer without lights to a different location in the city to exchange for another trailer. The employee, however, was very helpful and calming. Since Uhaul screwed up and didn't have the trailer I wanted at the location I reserved, and wanted me to go to a different city to pick it up. After calling and being on hold for an hour, and having a disagreeable person helping me on the phone, we finally decided on a third location with yet a different type of trailer - this one with a roof - meaning I didn't need the tie downs that I had already paid for. I was told I would be refunded for these, as she didn't even have any tie downs to give me. She assumed they would have been sitting in location 1. But since the lights didn't work, I had to go to location 4!!!!

I had the worst, absolute worst experience with the u haul despatch. They did not make sure I was aware that they have changed my pickup location. Did not want to empathise when I told them that the new location is 35km away from the initial reservation spot and did not care about my needs whatsoever. I would never recommend this service to any of my friends. At one point it felt I was in India somewhere where people don't give a.... About nobody and no customer service. I can honestly say this has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life.

Location at meridian did not have a truck even though I had reserved. 84st was able to help me out last minute. Truck fuel tank was damaged and was a fire hazard. The truck was. It safe to drive with leaking fuel

I had reserved a vehicle at a different location for pick up at 9am, waited 50 minutes to get told that they did not have a truck for me. Had to go to this location. Put my move behind by about 2 hours with the run around.

1. I requested the 20' truck for 07:00 pickup July 28, 2018 to be at a different location and the night before I received instructions to go to this crappy place. The original pickup location was to be at 520 Meridian Rd NE, in the City of Calgary (and not in a County location). 2. Their hours were Tue-Sat: 9 am - 3:30 pm and I needed the truck at 07:00. This "shit-show" took 2 hours to complete run by a D*****s. 3. I rented the truck at a special price online of $125 + 32 Damage Waiver. U-Haul Bundled the Damage Waiver with the truck price to make it $153. The Damage Waiver is considered insurance. In Canada there is NO GST on banking financial transactions and insurance transactions so you cannot combine those two different types of sales. 3. It also seems that I was charged for a second furniture dolly which I never received. 4. During my vehicle inspection, I could not properly complete this task. The driver's side of the truck was parked next to a steep ditch. 5. The woman wanted to charge me ~ $250-ish. I argued with her and I eventually went back to my car to retrieve my online order. Having showed her the web order, because it indicated the truck was $153 and she wanted to charge me the Damage Waiver again. That was another argument. 6. The truck cleanliness was generally OK. However, the inside of the windshield was coated with filth making it very difficult to see anything while driving into the direction of the Sun. 7. This ride-sharing thing should have been better explained to me. That too turned into a "shit-show". Had I know this was the process, I never would have agreed to do this. I have more to say but I am done with this. The U-Haul experience in picking up the truck was a nasty experience. And, ordering 3 pieces of polyethylene to cover 2 mattresses and a couch, cost twice as much to ship as the product itself. I would have much rather driven to a U-Hail location to get my hands on what I needed. As it was, most locations in Calgary showed they did not have packing paper or any of the other items I wanted.

Terrible location in the middle of nowhere at the end of a muddy rough road. The place was run down, disorderly with very little room to turn or leave a trailer. On the other side the good thing is that they had 24 hour drop off and they followed through early the next day acknowledging receipt of the trailer.

We reserved a trailer from a list to indicate preferred location that had the trailer online that was close to our house. We received an email late in the evening indicating the pick up location has changed to a location over 30 km away. We tried to call U-Haul, but gave up after being on hold for 30 minutes and decided to pick up the trailer. Once we did get a hold of U-Haul, the staff over the phone were unhelpful and we were told that it would cost us additionally, twice as much as the rental to drop it off at a location closer to our home, as the trailer belonged to the location on the outskirts of NE Calgary. However, the trailer had Ontario plates, which would indicate to me that it is registered several provinces away from the pick up location. I would like to say that the staff at the pick up location were wonderful. They were very understanding of the situation but could not do anything about it. The staff were courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful during both pickup and drop off.

First of all, we were confirmed for a different location which was convenient for us. This location was out of our way, congested, rutted roads and hard to find and added mileage and cost to our day. We used approximately 40 Miles. We refilled the fuel at four gallons with the receipt left in the vehicle. Yes do not understand why we were charged an additional cost for gas according to the bill. The lady running the shop ( Kim ) was very pleasant but regardless I would not recommend this site, especially when I had ore booked Kensington and had confirmed it on Wednesday.

The pick up location was not helpful at all. I had to shovel snow out of the trailer. Took about 30 min. Never go back to this pick up location again

I ordered a pickup at the Blackfoot location for 8am on Saturday February 17th. At 7:50am when I was 5 minutes away from the pickup location, I got an email from uhual saying I needed to pickup my truck at a different location that was half an hour away in 2 hours. When I arrived at Blackfoot not only did they not care about the mishap, they also didn't apologize. The lady leaned back and explained my milage would be discounted due to this mix up but there was nothing else they could do. I went from the deep South to Blackfoot, just to be told I needed to drive to the airport now to pickup and drop off my truck. Which added an extra 40kms to my trip. When I got my final invoice after dropping the truck off 6 hours later, no discount on milage and no apologies from either location on the mix up. Will most likely never use uhaul again and will not be recommending to a friend. Took an already stressful situation and made it worse.

But my experience on Contract 97366436 was flawed, from errors made on reservation at the Barlow Calgary office, where I usually do my U-Haul business. I reserved a unit on Friday evening, about 5:1PM, for a 2-way ( ie return ) local trip, for equipment pickup at 9AM Saturday, and return prior to 4PM that same Saturday. When I got to the Barlow Calgary location, there was a long line , despite 3 staff handling the customers. When I finally got served, I was told that there were no 10 foot vans available ( I saw at least 4 ), and that I would have to go to another location, NE, 84th ST, to pick up my van. When I got to the NE 84th St. location, the staff told me I had been diverted to them because my contract was written for a one-way rental, 10 days. The staff at the 84th St. NE location were knowledgeable and efficient, and corrected the agreement, and I was on my way. But because of the extra distance, my rental cost for a 10ft van was higher than that for a 17 foot van rented just two weeks earlier, same trip, due to higher mileage, and the fuel cost was almost the same, and I lost time. I have to provide customer service at my day job face-to-face or by telephone, and I do it well. The person that handled my reservation 2 weeks ago was ESL, and she did it well, and I was happy. The person that handled yesterday's failed reservation was not ESL, and seemed to be following what I requested, but that's not what got into the computer. Not only that, but the email copy of the agreement made on Friday night was not sent to me, so that I might have spotted and corrected the error. I hope U-Haul does it better next time.

I was Over charged on the order no response as of yet from email sent to location about my concerns? Computer froze was not given proper credit for gas not in truck at pick up! it was only 1/8 not 1/4 as initially noted on paperwork was manually charged on sheet but not in computer was told it would be corrected? Credit still missing? also asked if I brought truck back with more gas then was in it initially, i was told that I would receive a credit for that as well? Spent 80$ in gas only used $30 ish brought back over 1/4 full! Only received 6 pads not 12 and no dolly was provided yet I am being charged for one? Why?

Last minute change by uhaul sent me to this location, hard to find, didn't have the equipment I had reserved and had to go to another location to get it. Also the location wasn't even open the day I was picking up, they were there for us to pick up the truck but we're put out that we were late as they were only there to give us the truck, not the locations fault, this is a complaint about being shuffled around and not getting what we were expecting.

Process was a bit slow due to computer issues but the service person was fantastic and very friendly. The vehicle was clean and we had no issues with it all. All in all a great experience. I would definitely use them again!
