I rented ta car trailer in my mother's name for her to haul a car from California to Oklahoma. I used uhaul specifically for their safety and guarantee and was not satisfied. The trailer has a broken jack was loaded with a seperate jack onsite, i did not know this until i helped my mom unload in oklahoma, with no safe way to unload and move the trailer in the parking lot. The person who gave her the trailer refused to hook it up or do the inspection to make sure it was correct after she and my sister in law hooked it up, resulting in finding they had no lights the entire drive. I purchased the insurance and road side assistance to make sure she would be safe, only to find substandard quaily of care from uhaul's staff. Many things could have gone wrong on such a long drive as a result. The person who "helped" them, told them they were a forklift driver and this was not their job.

No paperwork whatsoever, I told the guy that brought out the trailer that the license plate didn't match the trailer I was given pictures to check and he said it's fine it doesn't matter , we already changed it but we never got confirmation. Very poorly coordinated place.

Very hard to get a hold of. Phone number on contract is not a phone number they answer. They claim they do not know this phone number. Took numerous calls to verify check in. Had driver #2 visit on Monday and discuss the equipment dropped off Friday at 5:30pm. On Wednesday Uhaul was calling to see where the equipment was as it was not checked in.

Constantly waited on hold, ended up going in person to talk to someone about drop off. The person who handled drop offs was not in that day and location did not advise that they had 24hr drop off. I ended up trying to drop it off else where and ended up being charged for an additional 90 miles after being told about the wrong location charge. “It’s in the contract…” Yes, you are right, it’s in the contract. A heads up would have saved me some time and money. Would not recommend.

I was charged a cleaning fee, the truck was clean and I put the gas back in the truck and I was charged for gas. I want a refund.

Check out process was awfully long and extreme unnecessary delay and verification. The truck had no gas upon pickup and ran very raggedy. I was unable to use truck at all and still charged an overage. I selected mobile check in and was not given option to take before pictures of truck, mileage or gas.

The inside of the box smelled like cats. The fuel gave did not work. While trying to fill the truck up to the 3/4 tank it started with, I turned the key on. The gage went up slowly and stopped at 1/2 tank. Then the hose stopped pumping fuel. I reset the hose and it still would not pump fuel. I turned the truck off and back on and the truck went to full. That is about $50 more fuel then It started with!

Overall, I was very pleased with my experience here; however, I will mention a few things I was a little disappointed about. Firstly, the truck was not ready, I had to wait a total of about 30 minutes for the gentleman in charge to gather all the rental items. Furthermore, the Ace Hardware team could not gather all the furniture pads required in the order, so they had to scramble looking for all 24 pads. In the end, they miscounted and I was off by four pads. Luckily, I was not charged for the difference but I was concerned I would need to pay for the “missing” pads. Other than this little fiasco, I was happy with everything.

I was given written notification that my drop-off was in California City despite call center personnel saying my drop off was in Lancaster. When I arrive with my Uhaul in California city, they had no record of previous night's phone call reservation ... and I was charged $100.00 more FOR UHAUL's screw up.... I'm calling BBB.

Phone app was not working for either pickup or drop off. Drop off took way too long due to phone app not opening. A desktop would have been better

This is Ace Hardware and there focus is obviously not U-Haul. It would better serve them to maybe train a few people on how to conduct rental affairs. For example, if I have to drop off something at 7am according to my contract it should be someone there to handle all aspects of rentals. I shouldn’t have to help disconnect a trailer from my vehicle to include lifting the trailer.

Four reservations in 9 months and U-Haul has not been prepared to service any of them. The issues we had at this new facility was primarily due to the owners not providing their staff the tools they need to be successful, such as wifi for them to use when processing transactions. The truck was clean but it smelled in the cab. The staff did their best despite the limitations of the bad internet connections and limited resources. Staff was friendly and very helpful, they worked hard to make it happen.
