Perhaps it's best not to have furniture dollies and pads as an option for renting if the location doesn't even have them. I wasted a 30 min drive to another location which I was told would give them to me only to learn this was NOT the case and they are sent customers from AIG all the time with the same response.BRIAN F.

I was scheduled to pick up a 10' truck to go and pick up a piece of furniture that I had purchased. When I get there the lady who runs the rental process was cleaning her store and did not even acknowledge that I walked in the door. When I asked about my reservation she said we only have a 15' truck and that I would be charged the increased rate. Then she wanted all this personal information about my nearest relative that she had to call first before I got the keys. I was furious. She was rude and made me late to my appointment that day. I told her to cancel my reservation and she said she would take care of it later!!! I told her to do it now so that I could find another place to rent a truck for my needs. My deposit still has not come off my bank account for this crappy place and I am once again furious! I would never recommend this facility for ANYTHING! I have rented many trucks from Uhaul in the past 10 years and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had!Rachel J.

Renting it served purpose, I went to the store and delivered material I needed. Vehicle needed maintenance, and was not clean. However, the total cost was excellent. So if you can maintain the same cost and improve vehicle service and hygiene, would be good.Goran M.

The passenger door would not close properly and the passenger door mirror would not stay in position so lane changing was difficult. The truck was dirty inside and out. - I was asked if I wanted insurance coverage which I declined yet I was charged the $14 so now I have to fight the charge. I had reserved a dolly with the truck, which Stefan did not have. Instead, he gave me two addresses on a notepad (no business names, no contact information, no names of people to ask for, not even a printout) and said to go to the first place and if they didn't have it, to go to the next place. I'm not happy about it but I need the dolly and do not want to be late with moving so I take the addresses and head to the first place (18300 Vanowen Street was the exact address Stefan gave me, he didn'tgive me cities or zip codes). When I get to the first place, I am extremely confused as the businesses at 18300 Vanowen Street are all food businesses (a Popeyes, a taco shop, and a donut shop if I remember correctly). I am frustrated at this point because now I have to use my limited miles to go to a third place (18160 Parthenia Street, per Stefan) to find a dolly that I had reserved. I check my reservation print out and call the number of Stefan's business address (AIG Leasing) and get an automated message from the U-Haul hotline. I am beyond frustrated and panicking now because I feel like I have been had. I go to the second place and am relieved to see it is an official U-Haul business. I park and tell them that Stefan sent me to pick up a dolly. The employee I talked to tells me that they don't know anything about me picking up a dolly and that no one told them I needed one. I panic again and tell employee it's not his fault but I really need this dolly and show him my reservation print out. The employees at this address we very helpful and understanding, gave me a dolly, and helped me buy the correct lock for the truck I rented. If it wasn't for them, I would probably never rent from U-Haul again because Stefan did not seem to care that I had to drive to three different places to find a dolly that I had identified I needed prior to, and that he gave me inadequate directions and instructions for finding the dolly. He was late to open the store, quick to get rid of me, talked over me often, and if I didn't ask questions about the rental or truck, I wouldn't know what I was renting. Thankfully the woman I reserved the truck with over the phone a few days prior gave me 20 extra miles because I was a few miles over my original limit of 157 miles (I clocked in exactly at 160 miles), no doubt those few miles were added on due to Stefan sending me on a wild goose chase due to his carelessness and lack of planning.Krystine C.

You need to make sure that #1 your store is actually open when they saiy they are. I paid for a 7 hour rental and because of your Employee I only got 4.5, he was not there for our pick up and was also gone before closing. Terrible customer Etiquette. Additionally we called your toll free and the woman that was supposed be helping didn't know how to help us so she drop off of her line and put us on hold for another person to pick up the call without telling us. We were on the phone for More than an hour only for the 3nf fro to day we'll just wish until the guy shows up at that location. Now I'm going to have to pay for another truck rental and spend another day moving beside uhaul scraps petiole. The guys also failed yomgive me an appliance dolly that I requested and paid for and straps we ended up having to buy one because he said oh well nothing is promised. If you are advertising being open until 5 not be close at 3 my biggest problem with trying to establish contact was people being closed early and unable to give me information you say your business hours are 8 to 5 then be there from 8 to 5 or at least answer the phoneRobert Q.

This neighborhood store was not open when I was there. I couldn't get a hold of anyone. The application didn't work well, I had to do the return process 10 times. I would NEVER recommend anybody to use this.Christopher K.
On line I had ordered moving blankets only to get to the rental location and be told they didn't have them. Was sent down the street and told if I didn't rent the U-Haul truck from them they couldn't rent moving blankets. We ended up driving over 5 miles - which in Los Angeles is at least 25 minutes - to an authorized U-Haul dealership. I won't use a pick-up / franchise location again.candiace B.

I volunteer for a non-profit organization. We collect donations and deliver them to local homeless shelters in the Los Angeles area. We decided to rent one of your U-Haul trucks to deliver an enormous amount of donations that we, and a local school collected, so we can deliver them to a homeless shelter. On February 28th at 11:00 AM, I arrived at the U-Haul contract office located at 5557 Reseda Blvd, Suite D, in Tarzana, California. Before pulling out of the lot, I opened the back of the truck to see if there was anything in the cargo area of the truck. The cargo area was completely empty. After putting the required amount of fuel in the truck, we returned the truck to the same location (AIG Leasing) at 4:00 PM on February 29th. The same gentleman was there as the one who was there when we picked up the truck. He took the key and was not even going to check the truck. However, when we requested a total bill for accounting and reimbursement purposes, only then did he go to check the truck. He was very agitated that he had to leave the office to get the mileage to close the bill. When he returned to the office, he claimed that there was an Appliance Dolly inside the truck when we took it out. I advised him that when we picked up the truck there was absolutely no dolly of any kind inside. As I mentioned earlier, I made a point of opening the truck before I pulled it out to make sure there was nothing inside, and there was not. I advised the gentleman of that, so therefore, we were not going to pay for it. He said that he could not give us a final bill due to his false claim that an Appliance Dolly was missing, even though one was never in there. The truck was completely empty when I took it out. He stated he would have to check his cameras because he claimed that he puts an Appliance Dolly in every truck. I checked the contract that I signed when I took out the truck. Nowhere on that contract did it say that a dolly was provided. If it had been stated that a dolly was supposed to be in the truck, I would not have left the premises without letting him know that no dolly was present. He stated he would check the cameras in the back and send me the bill before any charges were made. On Monday, March 2nd, my account was assessed 3 separate charges, one for $336.14, another for $113.00, and another for $21.90, which totaled $470.04, for a 20 ft truck we used for 2 days and put 50 miles on. They never sent a bill to my email to breakdown what I was being charged for. I then called U-Haul to dispute the charges and to try to get a copy of my bill. I was told a dispute had been opened and an investigation would be done. I would get a response within 72 hours. In the meantime, my bank account was all screwed up and bills that I previously had obligations to pay were being returned by my bank due to insufficient funds. On Tuesday, March 3rd, I was charged ANOTHER charge by AIG Leasing of $113.00.James L.
It's better that U-haul sents out the confirmation text of equipment return as early as possible. Like my case, I only get the message after I returned the key, then I cannot read the odometer. Your only on-site clerk was out when I was scheduled to pick up my truck, delaying my entire day and forcing me to make several calls to people who were aiding in my move. Your website did not want to verify my location so I was unable to check in without him. And to add insult to injury, you charged me for gas when I refilled the tank exactly to where it was upon pickup. This is not my first horrible experience with UHaul, but I have learned now that it is the only kind of experience I can expect and I will never go to UHaul again. Penske trucks is down the street and Budget trucks up the street. I'll pay the difference for convenience and none of this nightmare.David H.

The front office was frantic, stressful, and disorganized. Poor customer service. I was rushed into signing papers and I'm not happy about the extra $93.00 hold on my account that I wasn't verbally discussed, which occurred on top of the $65.00 charge for no apparent reason.
